Boston Public Library Summer Wedding of Lindsay and Greg with The Catered Affair

July 16, 2014

We were so excited when we got the phone call from Lindsay + Greg for this wedding — we had worked with Lindsay’s family a few years ago, and we could not wait to reconnect for another wonderful event! This time around it was a gorgeous summer wedding at the Boston Public Library, and we had a blast celebrating with this fun and adorable couple.

We started the weekend at the rehearsal dinner Friday night, which took place at the Downtown Harvard Club of Boston. The dinner had a fun, seaside flair with classic white and blue decor, and beautiful floral centerpieces featuring seashells, starfish, and natural drift wood by Carol Silverston. We rejoined the bride and groom the next morning where everyone got ready at the beautiful Fairmont Copley Plaza right in the heart of Copley Square. Once they were ready to go we made the short walk across the street to the Boston Public Library.

The afternoon ceremony took place out in the stunning Boston Public Library Courtyard, which features lush summer greenery and a beautiful fountain right in the center. The bride and groom decided not to see each other before the walk down the aisle, and we loved seeing Greg’s face when he finally saw his bride! After the I Do’s, which took place under a gorgeous Chuppah, we took the newlyweds inside for some family formals on the Boston Public Library’s grand staircase. While the rest of the guests and bridal party enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, we took Lindsay and Greg around the library for photos of just the two of them.

The evening reception took place in the Library’s Guastavino Room, which was transformed with modern mirror-top tables, white and silver linens, and a mix of black and clear chairs around each. Carol Silverston of The Original Touch created the beautiful decor and floral designs, which included  mixes of towering white and pink arrangements on each table for a wonderful pop of color. A patterned wash of cool blue and purple light gave the room a bright and colorful glow, which looked amazing on the black dance floor.

The bride and groom had so much fun and it was contagious throughout the night! Guests enjoyed their first dance (concluding with a fast choreographed portion that got everyone cheering), as well as toasts from friends and family before hitting the dance floor, packing into the photo booth, and having an absolute blast with the happy couple. The after party moved into the Boston Public Library’s Map Room and Cafe, that included a ping pong table, corn hole and giant Jenga.

We could not have been happier to share this day with Lindsay, Greg, and their wonderful families. Special thanks to the entire Catered Affair Team at the Boston Public Library, as well as Carol Silverston, Jodi Raphael and their team for such a wonderful event.
