The State Room is an incredibly photogenic venue, and we were thrilled to return there to photograph the downtown Boston wedding of Stacey and Evan. These newlyweds love Boston, and wanted a wedding that encapsulated all the beautiful and unique experiences the city has to offer. From getting ready at the stately Ames Boston Hotel to first look and formal photographs in Post Office Square, Stacey and Evan’s wedding really embodied the flavor of the city (literally, with favors from the famously creative South End Blackbird Doughnuts, and cupcakes from Wicked Good Cupcakes!). The couple had a beautiful traditional Jewish ceremony, with a floral chuppah and panoramic views of the historic Boston waterfront.
Stacey described it best: “We met and fell in love in Boston and we wanted our wedding to reflect our love for each other and the city! We tried to incorporate that into all aspects of our wedding – from the clock tower on the table numbers, to the local doughnut favors (our favorite to take a trip to on the weekend mornings!). We really wanted our wedding to be fun and casual to balance out the elegant space. We added touches that felt very “us” – such as incorporating our sports rivalries into the kipot for the ceremony and passing out popcorn right as guests arrived (we are food fanatics and wanted everyone to start eating from the start!). The view from the State Room is unparalleled and we wanted to make that the focus of the space, so we kept the lighting simple and natural to bring the city lights in. Our colors of blush and silver highlighted the space, without overpowering it.”
Congratulations Stacey and Evan! Thank you for choosing Jill Person to be a part of your celebration!
