Earlier this month we had the pleasure of working with Jen and Adam for their State Room Boston Wedding. The team at Janie Haas Events worked with the couple to create the perfect day that was exactly what the couple had asked for “a rustic, whimsical classic look that is also fun and very us.”
The couple both got ready in their suites just across the street from the State Room at the Ames Boston Hotel. For the first look and photos with the wedding party, we headed around the corner to Post Office Square (one of our favorite spots in Downtown Boston to photograph). Before heading into 60 State Street, we had some time for a few more photographs of the couple on the back patio overlooking Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. The traditional Jewish ceremony took place in the Cityside Room of the State Room under a custom branch chuppah accented with cream rose petals and pillar candles in large hurricane vases.
Jen and Adam wanted to bring the outdoors inside for their wedding reception which was a big reason they chose the Great Room at the State Room Boston. In addition to the floor to ceiling windows, the couple added bistro lights that were strung from the balcony across the dance floor. Wooden farm tables were mixed with rounds topped in cream linen. Classic tall arrangements paired perfectly with the candlelight, succulent plants, a variety of cream and green flowers and driftwood.
From Janie Haas: “Jennie wanted the organic beauty of nature brought into the urban setting of the State Room. Jennie had a specific lighting vision in mind that we had never before done at the State Room due to the challenge of no rigging points on the high ceiling. Alexandra Bombard from ALPS was a genius! She found the perfect way to create a canopy over the dance floor with Bistro lights and it changed the entire ambiance of the space. The light canopy brought down the ceiling height which, in turn, made the space feel so warm, elegant and cozy.”
We can not say enough about how much fun it was to work with Jen and Adam and are so thankful they chose to have us capture their beautiful wedding day this summer. A big congratulations to the newlyweds and thank you as always to Erica and her team at the State Room and to Janie Haas, Maria Simpson and their team at Janie Haas Events for introducing us to such a wonderful couple.
