This sophisticated summer State Room wedding is beautiful from top to bottom. Margarita and Steve wanted a traditional classic wedding that encompassed their style with some fun cultural highlights while showcasing the city they love. Working at the State Room, or any Longwood Venue, means there will be no shortage of scenery; the panoramic views, twenty foot ceilings and centralized location makes it quintessentially modern & chic.
We began this sunny summer day at the Intercontinental Hotel where loved ones traveled from far and wide to join the happy couple on their wedding weekend. Preparations for the day were underway and the bride and her family were enjoying some quality time in the bridal suite. The ladies donned purple floor length gowns accented with bouquets hydrangea and roses in whites and creams.
Margarita’s dress is a Peter Langner Couture from L’elite Bridal in Boston and was paired with some amazing Christian Louboutin shoes. Her bouquet was filled with roses and phalaenopsis orchids. When it all comes together, beautiful is an understatement!
The First Look is often one of the most exciting and highly anticipated parts of the wedding day. We get caught up in the moment nearly every time and Margarita & Steve’s was as sweet as they come. We took this time to capture some quiet moments and then grabbed the bridal party for some formals before heading over for the ceremony.
The Cathedral of the Holy Cross sits in the heart of Boston where the traditional catholic ceremony took place. Friends and family gathered as the couple exchanged vows in one of the oldest churches in the country.
As the guests headed to the State Room, we took this time to get some shots of the newlyweds at some of their favorite spots in Boston. Tia’s is where this couple met so we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to sneak a quick visit in before we went over to the State Room. Joining their cocktail hour, the happy couple got to enjoy cocktails and conversations with guests as a traditional Mariachi Band played creating a festive atmosphere.
The Great Room at the State Room feels like you are on top of the world with unparalleled views but Margarita and Steve still made it feel intimate. There are so many lovely details in this wedding – we could go on and on. From the monogram dance floor to the 5-tiered cake, the entire space was transformed. The gorgeous tablescapes with linens, chargers and, of course, the stunning flower arrangements. The centerpieces were an eclectic mix of different orchids paired with hydrangea in whites and creams; the pinspot lighting on them almost made them look like they were floating. Everyone enjoyed an evening of toasts, dinner and dancing….tons of dancing! The fabulous maracas that they gave as a favor got plenty of use.
Congratulations again Margarita and Steve! We loved being a part of your beautiful day and hope you love the highlights as much as we do!
