For this beautiful Fall wedding at the Omni Parker House, who better to tell us about the wedding day than the bride herself. Michelle said: “A wedding is such a crazy experience. You spend over a year planning for a party; there’s ups and downs and twists and turns that you could never predict. When the day finally came, it turned out to be our best day ever.”
Michelle and Bill have a long history with the Omni Parker House in Boston. Bill’s mother, Elaine, works at the venue and has been an industry friend of ours for many years. When her son and Michelle got engaged, the Omni Parker House turned out to be the perfect choice. As Michelle put it: “When we first got engaged, it did not take long for us to decide we wanted to have a wedding in the city. We both grew up in suburbs close to Boston, and had been living downtown for several years. The Omni Parker House quickly became the obvious choice, not only because of the groom’s long family history with the Hotel, but because of the beautiful historic feel to the function rooms.”
After getting ready for the day in the Hotel, both bride and groom took a quick walk across the street to the Old City Hall for their first look. To keep with the “historic Boston” feel of the day, the wedding party hired a trolley to take them around the city for some formal photos. First stop was the Boston Public Garden, followed by the couple’s favorite neighborhood bar where they had had their first date — the Harvard Gardens on Cambridge Street in Boston. Then it was back to the Omni Parker House for the wedding ceremony. Michelle and Bill became husband and wife in a beautiful evening ceremony in the Omni Parker House’s Press Room, then it was up to the rooftop terrace for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
The reception was held in the Omni Parker House Ballroom. “We wanted a classic romantic feel to match the charm of the hotel. We decided on tuxedos and black gowns for the wedding party, and decided we wanted to use a lot of greens for our flowers. The staff at the Omni, the lighting team from Entertainment Specialists, and the wonderful team we worked with at Winston’s Flowers did an incredible job of transforming the room into our dream ballroom.” Michelle and Bill chose classic, neutral colors of white, creme, and shades of brown to match the Ballroom’s classic historic decor, and the towering green and white centerpieces from Winston’s really made the room pop. Michelle and Bill could not have been happier to be celebrating this day with their loved ones. “Surrounded by all our family and friends, we celebrated our love and the start of our new lives together as husband and wife. Looking back, there are so many memories from that day that make us smile, and more than a couple that we know will continue to bring a tear of joy to our eyes forever.”
