One of our absolutely favorite things to do is to be able to give back to those in the Boston wedding industry who have continuously supported us throughout the years. Now that spring has finally arrived and before the start of the wedding season we decided to celebrate a with a dinner party and could not be more thrilled with how perfect the evening turned out.

We asked our dear friend Amy Kimball (owner of Amy Kimball Events) to once again help us plan this celebration as she has done in the past. With so many of our talented friends in the industry, she was able to put this unforgettable evening together.

As guests arrived, they were greeted with a ‘champagne’ escort card and cocktail hour with Champy by Jenny Johnson. Dinner followed and was a five-course tasting menu and wine pairing by Capers Catering. Dinner was followed by gold brushed individual wedding cakes from Jenny’s Wedding Cakes.

For the decor, 17 white Murano glass chandeliers from Suzanne B. Lowell Lighting were hung dramatically low lining the 70 feel of black, crocodile leather tables and silver chrome chairs from Reserve Modern Event Rental who provided all the rentals. 1,500 white tulips tightly hedged in 65 feet of boxwood created by Dana Markos Events played perfectly off the white chandeliers. Our photography was showcased on a 30 food wall canvas and the door images by ICL Imaging framing the entire event. As dinner was taking place, the Valinor Quartet (Music Management) played and added the perfect touch to the warmth of the atmosphere.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our dear friends and colleagues who came out to celebrate such a special evening with us and a world of thanks and appreciation to all who helped create this magical night.

A heartfelt thank you to Christian Nachtrieb of Brighter Lights Media for the film!

Modern Luxury Weddings Boston Inaugural Issue - Real Wedding with Amy Kimball EventsWe are truly honored to have been chosen to capture the wedding of Amanda Belichick and AJ DeSantis who wed last summer at the Weekapaug Inn in Rhode Island. The beautiful wedding weekend, expertly planned and coordinated by the über talented Amy Kimball of Amy Kimball Events is gracing the pages of the inaugural issue of Modern Luxury Weddings Boston and we could not be more thrilled to share! A heartfelt thank you to Amy for introducing us to Amanda and AJ and thank you all for putting your trust in us for your unforgettable wedding weekend!

“Teamates for Life – This couple wanted a wedding that was genuinely them and called on top wedding experts to create their dream nuptials.

Amanda Belichick, head women’s lacrosse coach at Holy Cross College, might play by the rules when on the field, but she and her husband, AJ DeSantis, rewrote the book when it came to their nuptials at the Weekapaug Inn. “All of our friends and family staying together was something that I really wanted,” says Amanda. “We wanted a New England spot that we could go back to and that would become a special place for us.”

The duo, who met online in 2014, wanted to create and unforgettable experience without adhering to typical wedding traditions. “We didn’t do anything that we didn’t have any personal draw to,” says Amanda, daughter of New England Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick. “In a log of ways, that gave us freedom in that there weren’t a lot of expectations… we literally just did what we wanted!” The lovebirds enlisted the help of event planner Amy Kimball to help them execute their idea of an organic, natural and sophisticated wedding. “We just clicked with her. She made everything fun.”

Kimball helped the happy couple execute their vision of an intimate and down-to-earth celebration – sans traditional event elements such as the bride wearing borrowed and blue items or throwing the bouquet. “Everything we did had meaning to the couple; all the details were quite personal, from working with exquisite handmade paper for the invitations, to the delicate leaves custom sewn on her dress that connected to the design inspiration for the wedding,” says Kimball. guests were welcomed to the Weekapaug Inn with customized reusable natural-fiber gift bags stocked with traveling games, an dthe bride and groom’s favorite snacks. The wedding weekend started off with a bang at the welcome dinner thanks to a surprise 15-minute fireworks display that the groom had arranged, to the bride’s delight. It was in line with the groom’s romantic side – he had proposed to Amanda in their home, which he filled with vases of flowers, a petal pathway and sweet cards with beautiful sentiments he wrote himself.

Amanda walked down the aisle in a custom silk chiffon corseted gown with hand embrodiery by One by Maya with her father. Her gown was accented by a special necklace that ensured her parents would always be close. The center diamond is from her mother’s engagement ring and the marquise-cut diamonds are from Super Bowl pendants gifted by the bride’s father, from New York Giants’ wins in 1986 and 1990, and New England Patriots wins in 2001, 2003 and 2004.

Amanda and AJ were  wed by a close friend of the groom’s late parents under a custom canopy made from flowing white sail fabric dressed with loose green vines. Stoneblossom Floral and Event Design created a progressive story from the ceremony to cocktails and reception with textural greens and flowers in shades of white, subtle nudes and soft blush pink.

“Amy knew what we wanted when we didn’t know how to ask for it,” says Amanda. “The way the elements came together in the space on the day of the wedding was truly magical.”

For Kristen and Keith, the most important thing at their InterContinental Boston Spring Wedding was that all of their family and friends smiled, laughed, danced, and had a good time. They certainly got their wish, and so much more, on their gorgeous wedding weekend.

This wedding was a beautiful mix of classic, elegant, and colorfully modern. Kristen wanted their wedding day to be pink and silver, with touches of navy blue and as much sparkle as possible. The bodice of her wedding dress featured sparkly silver detailing, and she carried a bright pink bouquet of roses. Bridesmaids matched in pale pink sparkling dresses, and Keith and his groomsmen wore navy blue suits. The entire wedding party got ready for the day at the InterContinental Boston before heading to the new Shrine of Our Lady of Good Voyage, which happened to be directly across the water from the InterContinental Boston and was celebrating their own one year anniversary on that very same weekend.

Following the church wedding ceremony, the couple drove off as happy newlyweds in a classic white Rolls Royce. We met up with the whole wedding party back at the InterContinental Boston for some formal photos in the Rose Kennedy Greenway across the street from the hotel, then took the couple out to the waterfront for some photos along the harbor. Kristen and Keith got a sneak peek of the InterContinental Boston ballroom, which featured gorgeous pink and white floral centerpieces, a classic white dance floor, sparkling silver linens, and an arrangement of sparkling lights dangling from the ceiling above it all. The couple added so many wonderful personal touches to their wedding day, including photos of their dog featured on each of the table numbers and a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in honor of the bride’s brother (he’s the one dressed as a giant dinosaur on the dance floor)!

At the end of the day, Kristen and Keith got to see their wedding dreams come true as guests danced, laughed, and celebrated this wonderful couple all night. Both the band and DJ from Entertainment Specialists kept the dance floor packed, and friends and family were so happy to be there to celebrate with the bride and groom.

This beautiful day in the heart of Boston was the perfect setting for Katie + Chris’s enchanted Summer Taj Boston wedding. The bride and groom got ready at the hotel and Chris was blown away when he entered Katie’s room to see his glowing wife to be for their first look.

Before the bride and groom officially tied the knot, we took a stroll through the Boston Public Gardens with the wedding party to capture the sheer bliss on the faces of the couple as well as their wedding party and families. Shortly after, we arrived at St. Cecilia Parish for the Catholic ceremony Katie + Chris stood in front of their loved ones for. The ceremony couldn’t have been more beautiful, from the high ceilings lined with glowing stained glass to the massive stone pillars and remarkably painted walls of the Parish.

Spirits were high as the bride and groom arrived at the reception to what looked like a romantic scene torn out of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The lighting gave a fantastical sense of wonder to the magical night as the greenery displayed the natural and calming qualities of the Shakespearean setting.  It was very easy to get lost in the natural feel and lush surroundings, to the point where all thoughts and signs of being in the big city were lost in the elegant array of beautiful flowers and decor.

Thank you to the Taj Boston and the team at Amy Kimball Events for being so lovely to work with and a heartfelt congratulations and thank you to Katie + Chris for having us there to capture your beautiful Spring Taj Boston wedding celebration!

We could not have asked for a more beautiful Fall day for this gorgeous Fairmont Copley Plaza Wedding! Anastasia and George’s wedding was a perfect mix of classic, traditional and beautifully elegant — and it was so much fun to photograph! We stared the day with the bride and her bridesmaids, getting ready at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, while George got ready at his parent’s home in Boston.

Guests arrived at the historic Annunciation Cathedral in Boston for a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony. The couple said their “I do’s” as the Anima string quartet played beautifully in celebration of this joyous moment. The bride and groom departed the cathedral in a receiving line complete with a ceremonial throwing of rose petals.

We then headed back to the Fairmont for formal photos of the couple and their families both inside and outside of the hotel while their guests began enjoying cocktail hour. The bride and groom entered the grand ballroom and it wasn’t long before everyone was on the dance floor, dancing to the traditional music played by a Greek band. As Tashia + George danced the night away, friends and relatives threw money over their heads — a tradition at Greek weddings to bestow good fortune and prosperity on the bride and groom.

A very special thanks to Amy Kimball Events, Tracey Gavin and the entire team at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, for always being so lovely to work with! Congratulations Tashia and George!!

If you’ve ever had the chance to attend an event at The State Room Boston in the evening, when you can see the busy city streets lit up from 33 stories above it all, you know it’s absolutely breathtaking. Photographing the Boston State Room Wedding of Lindsay + Bradley was exactly that, magical and romantic with a classic Boston feel.

Lindsay got ready at the luxurious and historic Langham Hotel, where she also had her  joyous first look with the groom. The rain cleared just in time to take formals in the beautiful misty afternoon, so we headed to Post Office Square with the couple and our cameras to capture special moments with Lindsay, Bradley and their families.

The ceremony and reception were at the State Room and the evening was radiant with a sense of traditional elegance and classic Boston charm. Guests were floored by the most spectacular view of Boston’s skyline through a panoramic glass wall 20 ft high and 120 ft across. Gorgeous, soft and elegant ivory and green florals graced the table tops in varying centerpieces from Sean at La Folie Fleur. Everyone enjoyed toasts, cake, laughter and fun as the couple and their guests danced into the late night.

Thank you to the entire team at the State Room Boston for another flawless event, and congratulations Lindsay + Bradley!

The Cape has always been the “happy place” for both Jessica + Jon. Jessica’s family summered on the Cape for her entire life, and Jon’s family has set their roots on the Cape for over 50 years! When it came time for the two to plan their wedding, choosing the Cape was an easy decision. We joined Jessica + Jon for a beautiful weekend at the Wychmere Beach Club, which included a traditional New England lobster bake, seaside photos, a classic church wedding ceremony, and an elegant black tie wedding reception with a contemporary urban twist.

The weekend started on Friday evening, with a classic lobster bake rehearsal dinner. A tent was installed on the Wychmere Beach Club’s private beach, overlooking the beautiful New England seaside. Customized games (which would make another appearance at the cocktail hour the following day!) were set up on the sand for guests to play and rustic wooden lanterns were set up along the boardwalk to light the way. Everyone enjoyed dinner, while Jessica + Jon heard special toasts from their closest family and friends. As soon as the sun set, the tent was lit up with sparkling strings of lights and a bonfire was roaring out on the beach for everyone to enjoy.

The next morning began the wedding day — Jessica and her bridesmaids got ready in the Wychmere Beach House’s bridal suite, while Jon and his groomsmen hung out in the Wychmere Cottage (sometimes called the “Groom Cottage” for weddings)! The bride’s bouquet was a gorgeous mix of greens, white roses, and deep red flowers — perfect for an early Autumn wedding. She chose a strapless, mermaid-cut Anna Maier gown, matched with sparkly Jimmy Choo shoes and a glittering silver hair piece. We left her bridal party inside to finish getting ready while we took Jessica out onto the beach for her first look with Jon!

The bride and groom had their first look on the boardwalk overlooking the Cape Cod beach. We braved the blustery wind to get some great shots of the happy couple along the beautiful beach before heading back inside. We took a few more romantic photos of Jessica + Jon inside the Wychmere before we were joined by the bridal party and family for formal photos. Following formals, the wedding party hopped a ride in a Cape Cod Trolley to the wedding ceremony while Jessica rode with her dad in a classic white Rolls Royce.

After the traditional wedding ceremony at the nearby Pilgrim Congregational, guests headed back to the Wychmere to await the big arrival of the happy newlyweds. Jessica + Jon made their grand entrance to cocktails on a sailboat, while everyone cheered them on from the dock! Some guests stayed outside to enjoy the seaside view and lawn games, while others moved inside for the hors d’oeuvres and raw bar in the Wychmere’s Hydrangea Room.

The elegant evening reception took place in the Harbor Room, named for the panoramic windows giving a perfect view of the Cape Cod harbor right outside. The tables were topped with silver linens, with accented pops of dark navy blue from the table name cards and ribbon-wrapped candy boxes on each place setting. The wooden beamed ceiling and silver chandeliers made the room elegant and contemporary, and the towering white floral centerpieces from Marc Hall Design were definite show-stoppers. Jessica + Jon’s custom “J&J” monogram was even projected onto the dance floor using lights.

We absolutely loved being a part of this traditional black tie Cape Cod wedding at the Wychmere Beach Club, especially knowing how special the Cape was for Jessica, Jon, and their families! Thank you to the fantastic group of vendors we got to work with, the entire team at the Wychmere, and Jessica + Jon for letting us be a part of your fabulous Cape Cod wedding day.
