One of our absolutely favorite things to do is to be able to give back to those in the Boston wedding industry who have continuously supported us throughout the years. Now that spring has finally arrived and before the start of the wedding season we decided to celebrate a with a dinner party and could not be more thrilled with how perfect the evening turned out.

We asked our dear friend Amy Kimball (owner of Amy Kimball Events) to once again help us plan this celebration as she has done in the past. With so many of our talented friends in the industry, she was able to put this unforgettable evening together.

As guests arrived, they were greeted with a ‘champagne’ escort card and cocktail hour with Champy by Jenny Johnson. Dinner followed and was a five-course tasting menu and wine pairing by Capers Catering. Dinner was followed by gold brushed individual wedding cakes from Jenny’s Wedding Cakes.

For the decor, 17 white Murano glass chandeliers from Suzanne B. Lowell Lighting were hung dramatically low lining the 70 feel of black, crocodile leather tables and silver chrome chairs from Reserve Modern Event Rental who provided all the rentals. 1,500 white tulips tightly hedged in 65 feet of boxwood created by Dana Markos Events played perfectly off the white chandeliers. Our photography was showcased on a 30 food wall canvas and the door images by ICL Imaging framing the entire event. As dinner was taking place, the Valinor Quartet (Music Management) played and added the perfect touch to the warmth of the atmosphere.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our dear friends and colleagues who came out to celebrate such a special evening with us and a world of thanks and appreciation to all who helped create this magical night.

A heartfelt thank you to Christian Nachtrieb of Brighter Lights Media for the film!

What can we say about Emily and Doug? We LOVE them and this beautiful autumn wedding in the mountains. Emily and Doug met in the White Mountains and have a love of all things rock climbing. The Mountain View Grand Resort and Spa is breathtaking with its panoramic views and exceptional, one-of-a-kind spaces – the perfect locale!

While the ladies were putting their finishing touches for the day ahead, the gentlemen donned suits with rope boutonnieres. A sweet bouquet of soft pinks, whites, and greens complemented Emily’s classic lace wedding gown. Because Emily and Doug wanted to maximize spending time with their loved ones they decided to have a First Look against a beautiful backdrop overlooking the White Mountains.

After wrapping up formals, we made our way over to the ballroom for the wedding ceremony. Sipping on champagne, guests gathered in the Crystal Ballroom which showcases a beautiful hand-painted dome and restored chandelier. Bringing the outside in, Emily and Doug brought in lots of organic elements to balance the space with a warm natural feel.

The wedding ceremony was officiated by Emily’s brother and was personal, sweet and filled with laughter. Immediately following the ‘I do’s’, the bride and groom snuck off for a quick private moment and returned for introductions. While the celebrating continued with cocktails, a serious game of giant Jenga was played. First dances made way for heartfelt toasts and dinner. Opting for a pie-cutting instead, a full spread of delicious pies were on display for dessert. The ensemble of vendors were wonderful to work with including the lovely team at the resort. We are thrilled for Emily and Doug and so thankful to be a part of this day.

Both hailing from Lynnfield, Mass, this North Shore couple have been in each other’s life since they can remember. Cristina and Brett wanted a carefree, fun wedding that showcased their classic romance at Boston’s Fairmont Copley Plaza. Preparations for the day ahead were in full swing as the ladies and gentlemen were gathered separately dressing and putting on the day’s final touches. The groom was crisp in a classic black tux. The bride wore a Marchesa Gown paired with an Oscar de la Renta veil.

The historic Cathedral of the Holy Cross was the location for their traditional Catholic  wedding ceremony. The groom’s face when he sees his bride says it all. After the exchanged their vows and a lovely ceremony, we captured some formals and fun candids in front of the Fairmont before we headed in to celebrate!

From the couple’s one-of-a-kind welcome bag to custom favor t-shirts, Cristina’s friend, Kristen Lee Barrett from Darling Creative Company and her business partner Julie Madden, were instrumental with some of the fun details throughout the day.

Classic style with fresh flowers in a soft, creamy color palette felt right at home in Grand Ballroom from Dana and his team at Dana Markos Events. Romantic lighting and glowing candles balanced with grand centerpieces made for a timeless feel. It’s no secret that Brett is a Kanye West fan.  So much so that the bride surprised the groom with a custom ‘Yeezy’ groom’s cake (they even had quotes from Kanye on their cocktail napkins).  The t-shirts the couple gave out at the end of the night featured a sketch of the moment just after Brett proposed to Cristina. After toasts, formalities, and dinner, the party kicked into to full gear with a packed dance floor of all ages.  Congratulations again to Cristina and Brett – thank you for letting Person + Killian be a part of your fun day!

As always, we can’t say enough great things about the vendors we get to work with and in particular the staff at the Fairmont Copley Plaza and the expert ways of Tracey Gavin.

This beautiful day in the heart of Boston was the perfect setting for Katie + Chris’s enchanted Summer Taj Boston wedding. The bride and groom got ready at the hotel and Chris was blown away when he entered Katie’s room to see his glowing wife to be for their first look.

Before the bride and groom officially tied the knot, we took a stroll through the Boston Public Gardens with the wedding party to capture the sheer bliss on the faces of the couple as well as their wedding party and families. Shortly after, we arrived at St. Cecilia Parish for the Catholic ceremony Katie + Chris stood in front of their loved ones for. The ceremony couldn’t have been more beautiful, from the high ceilings lined with glowing stained glass to the massive stone pillars and remarkably painted walls of the Parish.

Spirits were high as the bride and groom arrived at the reception to what looked like a romantic scene torn out of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The lighting gave a fantastical sense of wonder to the magical night as the greenery displayed the natural and calming qualities of the Shakespearean setting.  It was very easy to get lost in the natural feel and lush surroundings, to the point where all thoughts and signs of being in the big city were lost in the elegant array of beautiful flowers and decor.

Thank you to the Taj Boston and the team at Amy Kimball Events for being so lovely to work with and a heartfelt congratulations and thank you to Katie + Chris for having us there to capture your beautiful Spring Taj Boston wedding celebration!

The Seaport Hotel Boston wedding of Lisa and Mike was the perfect way to start off the 2015 wedding season. We began the day with the couple while they got ready at the Seaport Hotel. We love that the bride and groom wanted to go outside for their first look on the World Trade Center bridge overlooking the Boston skyline. Lisa was joined by her bridesmaids and Mike with the groomsmen for wedding party photographs. As soon as the sun set and the lights came on we were able to spend a few more minutes with the couple before heading to the ceremony.

Their ceremony took place in the Cityside Ballroom, which was transformed for the occasion with tall pillar candles and lush white and pink floral arrangements by Dana Markos.  With stunning views of the Boston Harbor and the lively seaport district at night for everyone to enjoy, the Harborside Ballroom was the perfect place for the evening reception. Blue uplighting paired with the silver linens from Rentals Unlimited and candlelight lit up the room with a winter wonderland feel as the snow fell outside.  Following their first dance, dinner and toasts, the lively World Premier Band  got everyone on their feet dancing for the rest of the evening celebration.

It was such a pleasure to work with such a fantastic couple – and we love that they were willing to spend time outside for photographs! Thank you to the entire team at the Seaport Hotel Boston and Seaport World Trade Center. Congratulations Lisa + Mike!

We could not have asked for a more beautiful Fall day for this gorgeous Fairmont Copley Plaza Wedding! Anastasia and George’s wedding was a perfect mix of classic, traditional and beautifully elegant — and it was so much fun to photograph! We stared the day with the bride and her bridesmaids, getting ready at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, while George got ready at his parent’s home in Boston.

Guests arrived at the historic Annunciation Cathedral in Boston for a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony. The couple said their “I do’s” as the Anima string quartet played beautifully in celebration of this joyous moment. The bride and groom departed the cathedral in a receiving line complete with a ceremonial throwing of rose petals.

We then headed back to the Fairmont for formal photos of the couple and their families both inside and outside of the hotel while their guests began enjoying cocktail hour. The bride and groom entered the grand ballroom and it wasn’t long before everyone was on the dance floor, dancing to the traditional music played by a Greek band. As Tashia + George danced the night away, friends and relatives threw money over their heads — a tradition at Greek weddings to bestow good fortune and prosperity on the bride and groom.

A very special thanks to Amy Kimball Events, Tracey Gavin and the entire team at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, for always being so lovely to work with! Congratulations Tashia and George!!

The stars were out at the annual gala for the Asperger’s Association of New England (AANE), and we were so thrilled to be a part of this glamorous event to help out a good cause. The AANE is a wonderful local organization committed to building meaningful and connected lives for people with Asperger Syndrome and similar autism spectrum profiles. Their annual gala featured a raffle and silent auction to help raise funds for all of the great work that the AANE does, and this year’s theme was a star-studded “Star Light Star Bright” event!

The Cyclorama was transformed for the evening into a beautiful dinner reception, with classic colors of white, silver, and blue in both the linens and floral centerpieces. Dana Markos Events created the fabulous design, which featured a mixture of high and low floral bouquets, star light stencils projected on the walls, and a cluster of twinkling silver stars hung from the ceiling high above the crowd. A mix of blue, purple, and red lighting was projected into the Cyclorama’s stunning dome ceiling, and a series of purple uplights lined the white-draped walls for an elegant splash of color.

Guests arrived at the Cyclorama on a red carpet fit for the stars, and were interviewed by a Joan Rivers look-alike before entering the party. While they enjoyed dinner and dessert, they were entertained by the incomparable Edwards Twins — celebrity impression masters! The twins popped up on stage several times throughout the night, disguised as Neil Diamond, Bette Midler, and Sonny & Cher. This was a truly entertaining event for a great cause, and we were honored to have been a part of it.

Last week Spring was in that air as we hosted a party to say thank you to our incredible industry friends! We work with so many amazing people each and every day in the Boston wedding industry, and our P+K  party is a chance for us to give back, say “thanks”, and celebrate the beginning of a fantastic 2014 wedding season. We are so blessed to have met and worked with so many talented professionals and are truly grateful for the friendships we have made. We look forward to throwing this event and can’t thank everyone enough for being there!

This year our Celebrate Spring Industry Soiree was at the beautiful Exchange Conference Center on Boston’s water front! The ECC was transformed into a Spring paradise thanks to the fantastic vision of our friend Amy Kimball and her team at Amy Kimball Events. The room was saturated in colors of raspberry pink and orange — color-washed walls from Boston Uplights, beautiful window decals featuring photos of some of our favorite 2013 P+K weddings, and a series of beautiful spring flower arrangements from Dana Markos. In the Exchange Conference Center foyer guests were immediately greeted by a stunning multi-layered floral arrangement, featuring a mix of short, tall and submerged spring flowers in beautiful colors of yellow, orange, and pink. A wall of custom window decals gave special thanks to all of the fantastic vendors who made this night possible, as well as added a really fun pop of color to the foyer space!

The main space featured a beautiful grass-lined wall that was literally springing with real live pink and orange flowers, as well as a stunning spring tree centerpiece in the middle of the room that was hung with fun acrylic flower cut-outs. We loved the bright pink cocktail tables and the colorful orange and pink flowers that topped each of them. We served custom spring cocktails in fun mason jars, with matching pink and orange striped straws for sipping! Guests enjoyed customized hand massages and skin treatment from Arbonne, a special “UV Light Booth” to rejuvenate after a long winter, full makeovers from Ajessence makeup, and could even get their fortunes read from a set of two tarot card readers. Kupah James from Klass Universal kept the music going all night, and we all had so much fun chatting and mingling with some of our favorite industry friends!

We were so thrilled to share this night with so many wonderful people, and we are so grateful to everyone who came out and made this night possible! Extra special thank you to Amy Kimball Events, Rentals Unlimited, Dana Markos Events, Katrina Hess Makeup, Demiche Beaute’, Boston Uplights, Kupah James and Klass Universal, SignsAndPrints.Com, Arbonne International, Ajessence, East Meets West Catering, and the entire team at the Exchange Conference Center.

Twice a year the Boston wedding and event industry gets together to socialize, network and attend a panel discussion. The Marketing to the High End Bride breakfast is a wonderful tradition in the Boston wedding industry, and we are always honored to be a part of it. The Spring event was held at the beautiful Harvard Club of Boston, and featured a panel discussion on “Great Wedding Problem Solvers” with some of Boston’s top wedding professionals. Arlene Cronk of Invitations & Company (who is also the creator and organizer of the High End Bride Breakfast), moderated the panel discussion.

The event was planned by Unique Weddings by Alexis with sleek and modern decor. The colors of black and white to beautifully complimented the Harvard Club of Boston’s hues of red and natural wood. For the “mixing and mingling” first half of the event, the Harvard Club’s second floor rooms were scattered with high cocktail tables featuring fun black and white patterned linens. Cocktail tables were topped with floral arrangements from Dana Markos Events.

A seated breakfast and the panel discussion took place downstairs in the Harvard Club’s Harvard Hall, which featured sleek and modern black and white tables from RESERVE Modern Event Rental. The alternating black and white tabletops were paired with a mix of beautiful lattice-backed chairs and sleek white lounge furniture for a fun and comfortable atmosphere. The tables were set with some of the newest china and glassware from Rentals Unlimited, including their chic new black and frosted white goblets, and featured bright green centerpieces in alternating black and white containers (perfect for the first day of Spring!). Following the formalities of the morning, guests were treated to a delicious gourmet doughnut wedding cake display as well as a make-your-own frozen yogurt station from Orange Leaf that included wedding cake frozen yogurt.

We always love being a part of this special industry event — special thanks to Arlene Cronk and the entire team at the Harvard Club of Boston for another fabulous breakfast!

Maria and Jack wanted their wedding to celebrate all things summer — with fun backyard games, bright vibrant colors, and a beautiful tented reception at Moraine Farm in Beverly, this was a perfect first-day-of-summer event! The Bride has had a long history with camp Wawenock for girls in Raymond, ME where the colors are blue & orange!

Maria and Jack chose to incorporate these colors into their wedding, starting with the invitations and save-the-date cards mailed out to guests. Maria wore a classic strapless white wedding gown and carried a soft white summer bouquet, and her bridesmaids kept to the color scheme with dark navy blue dresses and colorful orange flower arrangements. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day, and we took all our formal pictures of the bride, groom and their wedding party outside on the lawn of Moraine Farm.

The outdoor ceremony had a great garden wedding feel, with white garden chairs and pops of orange flowers along the aisle. There were so many fun and colorful DIY elements — chalkboard signs, signature drinks served in mason jars, and custom-monogrammed blue and orange lawn games, which the bride and groom enjoyed playing with right after saying “I do”. Guest’s menu cards even featured cute “Maria and Jack” trivia questions at the top of each!

The wedding reception tent was bright, sunny and colorfully decorated for this great summer wedding. Dark blue linens were accented with pops of orange flowers, and bunches of orange and yellow paper lanterns were hung from the ceiling. Their classic white wedding cake was topped with a twist of bright blue and orange ribbon, and strings of twinkling lights were lit up around the edges of the tent as soon as the sun went down for a warm, intimate wedding reception.

We loved all the details of this fun summer wedding, the mix of bold bright colors and rustic DIY elements was perfect for an outdoor summer wedding at the Moraine Farm. Congratulations Maria and Jack, thank you for letting us be a part of your beautiful wedding day!
