Margot and Kevin’s Boston Public Library wedding was the perfect reflection of what they wanted their wedding day to be. They wanted fun and easy-going vibes, and they wanted to really enjoy the day with friends and family. Above all, they wanted a gorgeous and memorable venue to celebrate in!

We asked Margot why they chose the Boston Public Library for their wedding, and here’s what she had to say:

We fell in love with the Boston Public Library as a venue because it is so beautiful and romantic. Given the space is so beautiful as-is, we leaned toward simple clean whites and greens to accompany the green details throughout the Courtyard and Bates Hall. The wedding was black tie and we wanted to keep things elegant!

The bride and groom took full advantage of the gorgeous spaces both inside and outside the Boston Public Library. After getting ready at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, we headed outside to Copley Square for the first look and formal photographs with the wedding party. Family joined in for photos inside the library prior to the ceremony. The ceremony was held outside in the always gorgeous courtyard as the sun set.

Guests enjoyed the warm summer evening for cocktails in the courtyard and the adjoining Cafe, before moving inside to Bates Hall for dinner. The final stop of the night was the Abbey Room for cake cutting and dancing surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones. A joyful and memorable night in a truly unforgettable venue — Margot and Kevin’s Boston Public Library wedding was everything they dreamed it would be!

A big thank you to Margot and Kevin for being such a joy to work with and to the teams at the Fairmont and The Catered Affair at the Boston Public Library for helping create the perfect day!

Katherine and Matt wanted their guests to have a true Boston experience, and they couldn’t have selected a better venue. Situated right in the heart of the Back Bay, the Colonnade Hotel is one of the best locales to give guests a true flavor of the city. We were thrilled to join them for their celebration!

After getting ready at the hotel, and letting Katherine and Matt have some time to see each other, the wedding party headed to the verdant Boston Public Gardens to have a gorgeous backdrop for the traditional formal photographs. The famed Swan Boats were out in full force, adding a whimsical touch. Following a traditional ceremony at the historic Old South Church, guests were welcomed back to the luxurious rooftop lounge at the Colonnade for cocktail hour. Unparalleled panoramas of the Back Bay included a birds-eye view of the famed Christian Science Center reflection pool, where the couple had stopped earlier in the day for a unique opportunity to have their adorable first looks in front of the pool and fountains.

Blush pink and gold accents added elegant touches to the Colonnade Hotel’s ballroom, shining through exquisite floral arrangements from Mimosa Fresh Flower Design, and beautifully selected chargers and table settings. A reception full of whole-hearted toasts, emotional father/daughter, mother/son dances, and enthusiastic celebrating on the dance floor, certainly made this evening a night to remember.

Special thanks to Paula Marrero of Marrero Events, as well as Michelle Sullivan and her team at the Colonnade Hotel for coordinating such an amazing night! Congratulations Katherine and Matt – thank you for choosing Person + Killian to document your special day!

Memorial Day Weekend is always a busy time for weddings, and this year was no exception! On Sunday evening Person + Killian Photography had a blast capturing the beautiful Taj Boston Spring wedding of Jill + Isaac high above downtown Boston on the Taj Hotel Rooftop.

After getting ready for the day in the hotel below, snapping a few pictures in the sunny Public Garden across the street, and signing the wedding Ketubah, the adorable couple traveled up to the rooftop for both the wedding ceremony and reception! A  beautiful Jewish ceremony led right into a night of fun and celebration — all against the breathtaking backdrop of downtown Boston, 17 stories up!

The event was modern and fun, the black and white checkerboard floor provided the perfect contrast to the bright pops of pink from the table decor and bridesmaid’s dresses. Mimosa’s vibrant spring flower arrangements and lighting from Boston Uplights brought even more splashes of color into this fabulous space!

Congratulations to the happy newlyweds, and thank you for letting Person + Killian be a part of your special day!

When former Springfield news anchor Jaclyn Cashman (daughter of Boston construction boss Jay Cashman) married fellow Boston College grad and Cashman Inc. exec C. Trevor Childs at the Chatham Bars Inn, Person + Killian Photography was there to capture it all.

Following Friday’s beach party and lobster bake on Cashman’s private island off the coast of Chatham was Saturday’s spectacular wedding. Celebrating the events of the weekend alongside the couple were their parents, Jay and his wife, actress and executive producer of “The Kids Are All Right” Christy Scott Cashman, Trevor’s mom Laurie Jones (Managing editor of Vogue), Best man and Trevor’s dad, artist C. Frederick Childs and Jaclyn’s mom Linda Cashman-Belton.

After the ceremony where the bride walked down the isle in a spectacular dress by Christos at Saks Fifth Avenue it was off to the South Lawn of the Chatham Bars Inn for a 1940’s inspired cocktail hour and reception.

The party featured an array of surprises and entertainment for the 200+ guests including the White Heat Swing Orchestra, photo booth with props (always a hit) and both an espresso and cigar bar. One of the biggest hits of the night was The Zoo Band that traveled to Chatham from New York City. The reception concluded with a custom fireworks display over the water.

Even though the reception had ended, the party continued into the early hours of the morning when CBI’s Monomoy Meeting House was transformed into a nightclub complete with DJ, floor to ceiling uplighting and everyone’s favorite late night snacks.

Capturing the weekend alongside P+K were Boston Globe Photographer Bill Brett and Boston Herald Photographer Arthur Pollock who were on hand to take a few images of the couple and their guests. Even the New York Times featured an article on this incredible weekend of events.

It was an absolute thrill having the opportunity to photograph this amazing weekend, which was all planned by Allison Wildes Liset of Elegant Engagements. Congratulations to newlyweds Jaclyn and Trevor and thank you to you and your amazing families for being so accommodating and wonderful to work with.

There are so many reasons we love working at the Ritz — the location right in the heart of Downtown Boston, the array of beautiful spaces to take wedding photos, and the classic and elegant ballroom are only a few of them! We were thrilled when Emily + Lou hired us to photograph their summer wedding at the Ritz Carlton Boston Common, and the day turned out to be perfect.

The bride and groom both started their morning getting ready at the Ritz — Emily with her bridal party and Lou with his groomsmen. When the soon-to-be newlyweds were ready, we took them downstairs to the Ballroom Foyer for their first look. The large windows gave us fantastic sunlight and the fabric textured white walls made for the perfect backdrop for this wonderful moment with the bride and groom. Next, we headed to the nearby Boston Public Garden with Emily, Lou, and their wedding party for some outdoor formal photos on this gorgeous summer afternoon!

When we returned to the Ritz Carlton Boston Common it was time for the Ketubah signing and traditional Jewish wedding ceremony. Emily + Lou became husband and wife underneath a beautiful white Chuppah, draped in fabric and featuring arrangements of classic white orchids. The floor-to-ceiling windows were also hung with soft white drapes that filled the room with beautiful sunshine as the bride and groom said I Do! The party moved into the  beautiful Studio room for cocktails, while the finishing touches were made to the ballroom inside.

The reception was classic and elegant, featuring a gorgeous mix of tall and short floral centerpieces and fun pops of coral throughout the decor. Emily told us that coral is one of her favorite colors, and it was also the color she was wearing when she met her husband-to-be! Even the up lighting around the ballroom featured a warm coral light, giving the entire room an intimate and summery glow. Following the first dance and heartfelt toasts from friends and family, the dance floor was open and the party really kicked off. The groom was even surprised by a special rendition of his favorite song, Happy by Pharrell — he was given a classic Pharrell hat to wear while he danced! At the end of the night guests took home delicious  chocolate chip cookies, brought in that morning especially for the wedding from one of Emily + Lou’s favorite bakeries in Philadelphia.

We could not have asked for a more gorgeous wedding day for this wonderful couple — special thanks to the entire team at the Ritz Carlton Boston Common for another spectacular event, and to Emily + Lou for letting us share this special day with you! Mazel Tov!

Person + Killian was excited to  photograph another gorgeous Four Seasons Boston wedding!

We started the day getting ready with the bride and groom, in their own separate rooms, at the Four Seasons. Bettina and John wanted to have a traditional “first look” moment before the evening’s ceremony, and the hotel’s grand staircase overlooking the Public Gardens was the perfect place to do it!

With a few hours to spare before the ceremony, we took the opportunity to get some formal photographs of the couple with friends and family. We utilized the Four Season’s beautiful indoor spaces for  photos with parents and siblings, then moved across the street to the Public Garden to get some great outdoor pictures of the couple with their wedding party. The ceremony itself was held in the Four Season’s own Governor’s Room.

With formal photographs already out of the way, Bettina and John were able to enjoy their bright and lively cocktail hour with guests in the hotel’s Aujourd’hui Room, while the Main Ballroom was being prepared for the reception. The space looked soft and romantic thanks to the great planning and design by SD Events, with gorgeous floral arrangements by Mimosa. The guests had no trouble getting this party started, and with some help from Boston Beantown Band, they kept celebrating all night!

Thank you Bettina and John, we so enjoyed spending this special day with you!

Once a year soon-to-be brides and grooms head to the Hampshire House Engagement Celebration, and we were excited to attend and photograph this fun evening. This year, the color pink inspired the design and was incorporated throughout the venue from the linens by Rentals Unlimited to floral arrangements by Winston Flowers, Mimosa – Fresh Floral Design and Jeri Soloman Floral Design.

The colors carried over into the dessert display created and designed by the team at the Hampshire House. Engaged couples enjoyed strawberry milkshakes, pink signature drinks and an array of pink sweets ranging from rock candy to jellybeans. Below are just a few photographs that we captured throughout the evening celebration that we wanted to share.

A big thank you to the fabulous team at the Hampshire House for once again including us in this fantastic event!

Omni Parker House Boston : The elegant and legendary Omni Parker House hosted its 11th Annual “Brides of Distinction” Bridal Brunch & Fashion Show earlier this month. The event provided brides the opportunity to plan their perfect wedding by meeting with top local vendors and wedding experts.

The fashion show, hosted by Flair – brides & maids of Boston, highlighted the newest in wedding gown and bridesmaids dress fashions. Guests were greeted with a mimosa and enjoyed brunch, cake and a fashion show while seated at beautifully decorated tables featuring the latest flower and linen designs. Jenny Johnson from “TV Diner” on New England Cable News was the emcee for the event.

The Omni Parker House included several dedicated Boston companies to showcase their offerings, including Person + Killian Photography. We captured the beautiful floral arrangements by Madison Floral, and linens by Rentals Unlimited.  Each model had their hair and makeup done by the talented team from Wedding Tresses.
