Sisters Morgan and Reilly got to share the same spectacular B’not Mitzvah at WGBH — which meant twice the energy, excitement, entertainment and twice the WOW! This event was non-stop fun, with the help of NYC-based entertainment group Chezzam Entertainment and the stunning design and flawless execution of Twist Event Design. We started the day with Morgan, Reilly, and their family at Temple Beth Elohim for some traditional family formals before the B’not Mitzvah service began.

This event was truly one-of-a-kind, with non-stop entertainment and fun surprises around every corner. Special thanks to the team at Twist Event Design for such a stunning and creative event, and everyone at Chezzam Entertainment for the fun and energetic atmosphere! Mazel Tov Morgan and Reilly!

As soon as the service was over, guests made the drive to the WGBH studio to begin the evening party while all the kids hopped on a bus to ride over together. The WGBH studio had been transformed into an extravagant party — stilt walkers and hula hoop performers greeted guests as the entered the building, after which they took a walk down the custom “pink carpet” entrance for the authentic paparazzi experience from Chezzam Entertainment. We snapped photos, a crowd of fans yelled and asked for autographs, and everyone got the red carpet experience with a faux news camera and interviewer.

The WGBH Atrium was set up with a custom “One Night Only” marquee, sleek white lounge furniture with custom pillows, glow tables, and a sparkling silver and pink wrap-around bar. Adults enjoyed cocktails in the Atrium, which included music from a live electric violinist, while kids spend their cocktail hour in the Frasier Studio. The studio recording booth was set up for the kids to record songs in, along with a Game Show trivia booth where they could answer trivia questions about the guests of honor and a glitter tattoo station for sparkling tattoos!WGBH Boston Event Photography 005WGBH Boston Event Photography 006WGBH Boston Event Photography 007WGBH Boston Event Photography 008WGBH Boston Event Photography 009WGBH Boston Event Photography 010WGBH Boston Event Photography 011WGBH Boston Event Photography 012WGBH Boston Event Photography 013WGBH Boston Event Photography 014WGBH Boston Event Photography 015WGBH Boston Event Photography 016WGBH Boston Event Photography 017WGBH Boston Event Photography 018

After cocktails, everyone was invited into the Atrium for the big reveal of the Calderwood Studio reception. As the studio doors opened, a wall of liquid nitrogen filled the doorway for an exciting and dramatic reveal! The room was bright and colorful with hot pink linens and towering pink and white floral centerpieces. Wreaths of colorful flowers hung from the ceiling above the table tops, and the dance floor featured plasma screens and two tall scaffolding towers for the dancers to use later in the night. After a quick dance set, the costumed crew from Chezzam Entertainment ushered in Morgan and Reilly for their grand entrance!WGBH Boston Event Photography 019WGBH Boston Event Photography 020WGBH Boston Event Photography 021

While the adults enjoyed their dinner, the kids took a seat on the dance floor for the video montage, a welcome speech from Morgan and Reilly’s parents, and a traditional candle lighting ceremony. Then it was back up onto the dance floor for a fun and energetic Hora! The first performance of the evening from Chezzam Entertainment was a Lady Gaga inspired dance routine followed by a VMA-inspired Justin Timberlake performance to get everybody up and dancing! The dancers passed out hats, sunglasses, and props for everyone to use on the dance floor, and all the photos from inside the photo booth were projected on the plasma screens for everyone to watch.WGBH Boston Event Photography 022WGBH Boston Event Photography 023

Following dinner, “human tables” walked around the Atrium with an assortment of desserts on their skirts for guests to choose from, while a stunning acrobatic artist put on a show high above the crowd. Guests also enjoyed custom cookies and take-home candy boxes.WGBH Boston Event Photography 024WGBH Boston Event Photography 025WGBH Boston Event Photography 026WGBH Boston Event Photography 027Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley, Cocktails and Reception at WGBH Studios Boston, Twist Event Design & Management for all event design and decor, MAX Ultimate Food, Chezzam Entertainment, Port Lighting

So, when the opportunity arose from their dear friend Jacki Norrie (Wedding Tresses), to open up a studio in Newport, of course they said, YES!! This April, Person + Killian Photography will open doors in downtown Newport on 174 Bellevue Avenue. A big thank you to Tasha Bracken of SD Events for the beautiful design and decor of this space!

Holding a special place in their heart, Lisa and Joey’s classic Fairmont Copley Plaza wedding showcased Boston and the city they live in and love. We began the day at the Fairmont where preparations were in full swing.  The ladies were enjoying themselves in the bridal suite while the gentlemen prepped nearby.

The couple opted to do their First Look in the front of the hotel in the heart of Copley Square. The anticipation on both of their faces is very sweet and such fun to capture. We love these shots of them enjoying a few private minutes before heading over to the ceremony location. Built in 1888, Saint Cecelia’s Parish is rich in history and offers gorgeous light with high ceilings. Joey’s brother sang during the catholic ceremony making for a touching moment. Immediately after the ceremony we captured the full wedding party formals, moving from the church back to Copley Square.

Lisa and Joey’s love for all things Boston was evident with lovely details throughout the reception; from the guest book and olive oil favors to the table names of their favorite Boston stops. Soft uplighting and vibrant centerpieces added to the romance and warmth of the space. After dinner, the DJ jammed the dance floor and the guests partied into the night.

Thank you, L & J! We loved being a part of your wedding day!  Thank you to the amazing staff at the Fairmont Copley Plaza and all the fabulous vendors we worked with on this wedding.

We could not have asked for a more perfect summer day for Christina and Jay’s Cape Cod wedding. We started off at the home of the parents of the bride in Falmouth, MA that was transformed for the occasion. It was extra special to the couple as Christina’s parents celebrated their wedding day in the same location years ago.

Christina and her bridesmaids got ready on the property while Jay and his groomsmen were just across the street. Following the first look on the balcony overlooking the ocean, we headed down to the beach and around the property with the couple. The back yard made for the perfect location for formal photographs with the family and wedding party before heading to the church.

Following the ceremony, guests headed to the home for cocktails on the lawn as the sun set over the ocean.  It could not have been a more beautiful evening. Dinner and dancing took place in the tent with flowers and decor designed by Domenic Cambia and lighting by Suzanne B. Lowell. New York City based band The Stingers kept Christina, Jay and their guests on the dance floor all evening.

Congratulations again to Christina and Jay! We can not thank you enough for having us there to capture your wedding day. A big thank you to Deb Welch of Studio 9 for sending this amazing couple our way and to coordinator Lynne Enos for helping make the day so special for the newlyweds and their family.

We are always excited and honored when our weddings are featured in print. The real wedding of Lindsay “Lu” and Greg at the Boston Public Library is featured in the latest New England issue of The Knot on stands now!

From The Knot: How They Met: At Tulane University Wedding Style: Mirrored elements, oversize blooms and a glam color scheme of white, silver and pink created a luxe affair that walked the line between modern and traditional.

“Lu carried a traditional bridal bouquet of white peonies, lisianthus and light pink roses while the bridesmaids held fluffy bunches of pink peonies with accents of dusty miller. When the couple learned that Lu’s grandmother likely wouldn’t be able to make it to New York (where they live) for their wedding, they decided to get married in Boston, Lu’s hometown. ‘When the Boston Public Library popped up as a potential venue, we knew it was where we would get married,’ Lu says.”

Several years ago, we did a wedding for one of Katherine’s sisters, so we were thrilled to be working with her family again, for her and Colin’s Boston ballroom wedding at the Four Seasons Hotel. Following a traditional Catholic Mass at Our Lady of Victories Church in the heart of the Back Bay, the couple and their wedding party hopped back on an iconic Old Town Trolley, which took the wedding party to Boston Public Garden on a gorgeous summer day for photographs.

For the reception, the ballroom was illuminated with purple lighting from Suzanne B. Lowell Lighting Design that perfectly complimented the white and blush flowers, cream linens and chiavari chairs. Guests were dancing the night away to the music of District 21, and treated to a fabulous dessert buffet which featured the ever-popular Scoops pop-up ice cream shop in the ballroom foyer.

Thank you to event coordinator Lynne Enos and to Philip Deschamps and his team at the Four Seasons Boston for creating the perfect celebration for Katherine and Colin. Congratulations again to Katherine and Colin and thank you both for having Person + Killian Photography back to capture another special day for your family!

We love Boston, and we love to work with couples who love Boston as much as we do! Emily + Kyle are a sweet couple from Louisiana who decided to have a destination Omni Parker House wedding! Emily has always dreamed of living in Boston, and she wanted to share the essence of the city with her groom, and her closest friends in family.

As Emily and Kyle’s loved ones joined them to celebrate their big day, they were treated to a tour of the city; including an Hampshire House rehearsal dinner in Beacon Hill and a tour of historic Fenway Park the day after the wedding! The ceremony itself took place at the Omni Parker House, Boston’s oldest hotel and classic Freedom Trail landmark.

With an intricately detailed, open-backed lace gown (purchased in the couple’s home state) and a delicate, classic beaded head band, Emily was elegant and beautiful. The bridesmaids, Emily’s sisters, were in a bright blue and the groomsmen’s bow ties coordinated perfectly. Emily and Kyle’s first looks were incredibly touching and emotional – we are so honored to capture such wonderful moments. The couple also took the opportunity, not only to have formal wedding party photos outdoors, but to take some photographs in front of the Old Boston City Hall.

In the traditional New England styled Press Room, the classic ceremony was a beautiful and intimate affair, before moving to the stately Alcott Ballroom for dinner and dancing. From the exquisite floral arrangements, to the beautiful table centerpieces, tones of white, blue and stunning gold shown through in the details.

Thank you to Alison Rose, and her team at the Omni Parker House for coordinating such a wonderful day. Congratulations Emily and Kyle!

We were so excited when we got the phone call from Lindsay + Greg for this wedding — we had worked with Lindsay’s family a few years ago, and we could not wait to reconnect for another wonderful event! This time around it was a gorgeous summer wedding at the Boston Public Library, and we had a blast celebrating with this fun and adorable couple.

We started the weekend at the rehearsal dinner Friday night, which took place at the Downtown Harvard Club of Boston. The dinner had a fun, seaside flair with classic white and blue decor, and beautiful floral centerpieces featuring seashells, starfish, and natural drift wood by Carol Silverston. We rejoined the bride and groom the next morning where everyone got ready at the beautiful Fairmont Copley Plaza right in the heart of Copley Square. Once they were ready to go we made the short walk across the street to the Boston Public Library.

The afternoon ceremony took place out in the stunning Boston Public Library Courtyard, which features lush summer greenery and a beautiful fountain right in the center. The bride and groom decided not to see each other before the walk down the aisle, and we loved seeing Greg’s face when he finally saw his bride! After the I Do’s, which took place under a gorgeous Chuppah, we took the newlyweds inside for some family formals on the Boston Public Library’s grand staircase. While the rest of the guests and bridal party enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, we took Lindsay and Greg around the library for photos of just the two of them.

The evening reception took place in the Library’s Guastavino Room, which was transformed with modern mirror-top tables, white and silver linens, and a mix of black and clear chairs around each. Carol Silverston of The Original Touch created the beautiful decor and floral designs, which included  mixes of towering white and pink arrangements on each table for a wonderful pop of color. A patterned wash of cool blue and purple light gave the room a bright and colorful glow, which looked amazing on the black dance floor.

The bride and groom had so much fun and it was contagious throughout the night! Guests enjoyed their first dance (concluding with a fast choreographed portion that got everyone cheering), as well as toasts from friends and family before hitting the dance floor, packing into the photo booth, and having an absolute blast with the happy couple. The after party moved into the Boston Public Library’s Map Room and Cafe, that included a ping pong table, corn hole and giant Jenga.

We could not have been happier to share this day with Lindsay, Greg, and their wonderful families. Special thanks to the entire Catered Affair Team at the Boston Public Library, as well as Carol Silverston, Jodi Raphael and their team for such a wonderful event.

Laura and Matthew described their wedding as a “romantic winter wonderland”. Surrounded by their closest friends and family and with the help of a fantastic team of Boston wedding professionals, their beautiful Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston wedding turned out to be the perfect winter wonderland they always hoped for.

We began the afternoon with Laura and her  bridesmaids in their suite at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston while Matt and his groomsmen were prepping for the day at the bride and groom’s home nearby. Following the emotional first look we headed outside with the couple for photographs in front of the hotel in Copley Square. The wedding party and family then joined Laura and Matt both inside and outside for formals prior to the ceremony.

The evening ceremony took place in the Grand Ballroom. In keeping with the winter wonderland look,  silver and white chairs, iced white branches with small bunches of white flowers and candles of all shapes and sizes surrounded the ballroom isle and ceremony area. The nuptials concluded with the Jewish tradition of the glass breaking.

While guests enjoyed cocktail hour, the Grand Ballroom was transformed into the winter wonderland wedding reception that Laura and Matt had envisioned. White linen topped with silver runners gave the room a wintery feel, along with white floral centerpieces enhanced with faux snow and silver table numbers tied in perfectly with silver chiavari chairs. Everyone was so happy to be celebrating this perfect day with Laura and Matthew. Following their first dance, toasts and cake cutting on the balcony, the party kicked off and the dance floor was packed all night.

A special thanks to Tracey Gavin and the entire team at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston and to Laura + Matthew for sharing your special day with us. Congratulations!

Our spring wedding season continued with the beautiful country club wedding of Jessica and Greg. The Spring Valley Country Club in Sharon, MA was a perfect venue for this sunny and colorful wedding — we took advantage of the beautiful weather on the sprawling 200 acre golf course, and took in the spectacular view from the grand ballroom’s floor-to-ceiling windows during both the ceremony and reception.

We asked the couple to describe the look and feel of their wedding, including style, colors, and wedding inspirations; here’s what they had to say:

“We wanted our spring wedding to be elegant, but also fun and spiritual. Therefore we chose purple and white for our flowers. The purple chakra is the crown chakra — so we wanted our guests to see purple when they walked into the room. Our wedding will be a big fat Russian, Irish, and Italian wedding with lots of dancing and delicious food. Since we both grew up in the South Shore, the beautiful Spring Valley Country Club was the perfect place to have our wedding. The beautiful outdoor greenery, delicious food, and spacious grounds made it the ideal place!”

Thank you to Jessica and Greg for letting us be a part of your special day, and to the entire team at the Spring Valley Country Club for another spectacular event!

Person + Killian was excited to  photograph another gorgeous Four Seasons Boston wedding!

We started the day getting ready with the bride and groom, in their own separate rooms, at the Four Seasons. Bettina and John wanted to have a traditional “first look” moment before the evening’s ceremony, and the hotel’s grand staircase overlooking the Public Gardens was the perfect place to do it!

With a few hours to spare before the ceremony, we took the opportunity to get some formal photographs of the couple with friends and family. We utilized the Four Season’s beautiful indoor spaces for  photos with parents and siblings, then moved across the street to the Public Garden to get some great outdoor pictures of the couple with their wedding party. The ceremony itself was held in the Four Season’s own Governor’s Room.

With formal photographs already out of the way, Bettina and John were able to enjoy their bright and lively cocktail hour with guests in the hotel’s Aujourd’hui Room, while the Main Ballroom was being prepared for the reception. The space looked soft and romantic thanks to the great planning and design by SD Events, with gorgeous floral arrangements by Mimosa. The guests had no trouble getting this party started, and with some help from Boston Beantown Band, they kept celebrating all night!

Thank you Bettina and John, we so enjoyed spending this special day with you!
