New York City couple Eliah and Jamie met while attending Harvard University. Their love for music brought them together as they traveled the world on a 2004 World Tour as members of The Harvard Krokodiloes.

Eliah and Jamie chose to come back to Boston to celebrate their wedding weekend starting with their rehearsal dinner at Elliot Hall on the Harvard University campus. The wedding ceremony and reception were held the following night on New Years Eve at the Harvard Club of Boston on Commonwealth Ave in the Back Bay.

“Supper with Jamie and Eliah” at Elliot Hall was just the beginning of two days of celebration filled with music. Of the nearly 250 friends and family, almost everyone had a part. Guests preformed original songs for the couple, Broadway hits, guitar and piano solos, duets and toasts throughout the evening. The rehearsal was truly a moving and memorable night that was just a preview of the spectacular wedding the next day.

After getting ready at the Harvard Club, Eliah and Jamie met up with their family and friends for some traditional wedding party photographs in the Massachusetts Room. The spacious warmly lit room and black and white checkered floor made for a great location (and a favorite space at the Club for Eliah).

Guests arrived for the ceremony to a spectacularly decorated Harvard Hall.  A custom birch chuppah by Marc Hall Design sat in the center of the room and was surrounded by chiavari chairs set up in the round with candle light throughout adding warmth of the space. The moving ceremony was filled with music including a quartet and a cappella by the Harvad Kroks who sang from the balcony.

When guests arrived back in Harvard Hall after cocktails in the Massachusetts Room, it had been transformed by Marc and his team. Topiaries topped each guest table and warmth was added with candle light and roaring fireplaces on each end of the hall. Following the newlyweds introduction, a lively hora got the room up on their feet.  Prior to dinner a prayer song was sung by the Krocks and included both Eliah and Jamie.

As soon as dinner concluded, the dancing kicked off with music by Nightshift Entertainment. When the clock struck midnight, Eliah took the stage to preform the classic Frank Sinatra song “New York, New York”. Just before the end of the song, confetti filled the air from the balconies. This was a surprise to guests who joined in the song and celebration.

Congratulations to Eliah and Jamie. We had such a wonderful time capturing your rehearsal dinner and wedding celebration! This was the perfect way to kick off a new year of weddings and events. A big thank you to Nicole Simeral of Simeral & Company for flawless planning and to Jennifer and her team at the Harvard Club of Boston for always being so great to work with. A very happy 2014 to all!

We had so much fun capturing this beautiful wedding day with Jen and Greg — the bride looked beautiful, the weather could not have been better, and everyone was so happy to be together celebrating this amazing couple. The bride and groom chose the State Room Boston as their wedding venue, perched high above the heart of downtown Boston at 60 State Street with a spectacular view of the city from 33 stories up!

The happy couple and bridal party got ready for the day in the nearby Hilton Boston Downtown. Jen + Greg chose colors of gold, white, and soft blush as their wedding inspiration, and you could see it right away in Jen’s beautiful bouquet. She carried an arrangement of white calla lilies and soft pink roses, and her bridesmaids matched perfectly in summery pink dresses. The bride and groom had their traditional “first look” in one of the Hilton suites before heading out to the trolley.

We took advantage of the perfect August weather and made the quick trip to the nearby Post Office Square in downtown Boston for some formal wedding photography. We got some great pictures of Jen, Greg and their wedding party outside in the sunshine before hopping back in the trolley to the State Room Boston.

The wedding ceremony took place in the State Room Boston’s Great Room, with beautiful black ballroom chairs, two gorgeous floral arrangements on either side of the altar, and an aisle lined with pink rose petals. The Great Room’s floor-to-ceiling windows provided the perfect backdrop as the happy couple said their “I do”s.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres upstairs on the Mezzanine while the Great Room was transformed for the evening wedding reception. The tables were topped with shimmery champagne linens paired with towering white and pink floral centerpieces.

As the sun started to set, the view of the city skyline became even more spectacular outside. The newlyweds’ closest friends and family gave heartfelt toasts, while an impromptu fireworks show from the city below filled the sky with amazing fireworks! Jen told us that the exact same thing happened at her Bat Mitzvah years earlier, so the firework display was extra special for her.

After dinner, toasts, and parent dances, the dance floor was opened up for all the guests to enjoy — and they certainly did! We could tell that everyone was so happy to be enjoying this day with Jen and Greg, and the fun and energetic atmosphere lasted late into the night. A big thank you to the newlyweds for being so fun and easy to work with, and to all their friends and family for including us in this wonderful day. Congratulations Jen + Greg!

We always love working with fun couples and Caitlin and Greg did not disappoint at their Boston Harbor Hotel wedding this weekend!

The weather was perfect for some pictures out on the harbor — first with the couple alone, then joined by their wedding party. Bright pink bridesmaids’ dresses popped with color, and matched perfectly with the bride’s soft pink bouquet. After the evening ceremony in the historic Old South Church in Back Bay, it was back to the Boston Harbor Hotel for an unforgettable party.

Caitlin and Greg attended different colleges, Amherst and Mount Holyoke, and they definitely wanted to reflect that on their wedding day. The pink & green decor was infused with subtle college themes, even the drinks showed school pride! Signature “Lord Jeff” and “Mary Lyon” cocktails (named for Amherst and Mount Holyoke’s mascots) were enjoyed all night, and each table was named for a place on the college campuses where the couple spent significant time together.

Their love for their family dogs, both past and present was definitely represented. A table was set aside to honor the dogs, complete with pictures and homemade doggie biscuits!  Guests even went home with pink and green paw-print cookie favors and donations were made to the couple’s favorite animal shelter.

Person + Killian had a blast being a part of this unique, personalized, and totally sweet wedding! Congratulations Caitlin and Greg!

We loved the custom made cake toppers of Caitlin and Greg’s newest family members – adopted dogs Hudson and Frank (who made an appearance at the engagement session this spring).

One of our favorite things about photographing Boston weddings is having the chance to work alongside so many wonderful colleagues.  For Jessica and Rob’s State Room Boston wedding, this was no exception.

The day started at the Omni Parker House where Jessica and her bridesmaids got ready followed by the couple’s first look. Capturing the day on video along side us were the talented ladies of AfterImage Productions. The elegant fall look that the bride wanted came together when the bouquets were hand delivered by the talented Marc Hall of Winston Flowers.

After some formal photographs in the Boston Public Garden, it was off to the State Room for the ceremony and reception. Both the Harborside Room and the Great Room were elegantly decorated with the perfect fall décor that wowed the guests as they arrived.

Below are just a handful of our favorite images from the day. Congratulations Jessica and Rob and thank you for including Person + Killian Photography as part of your wedding day dream team!

Person + Killian Photography had the pleasure of photographing an amazing Boston Bat Mitzvah that was made possible by the fabulous team at Rafanelli Events. The morning started out at the beautiful Temple Ohabei Shalom in Brookline. The events of the day continued at The Ritz-Carlton Boston where the 2nd floor was transformed into one of Zoe and her family’s favorite vacation spots in Cannes, France. The guests experienced an array of surprises throughout the evening with everything from VIP style cabanas, a cotton candy dessert station and video montage all leading up to the highlight of the night.  Zoe and her guests were treated to a performance by “Status Quo” from MTV’s “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew“. It was such a pleasure to work once again with so many of our friends in the business from video by AfterImage Productions, stunning table arrangements by Spruce Floral and the amazing decor from ceiling to floor from Be Our Guest, PBD Events and Rentals Unlimited. A special thank you to Erin Palank, Julie Wolman and the rest of the crew at Rafanelli Events as well as Laura Fox and the team at The Ritz-Carlton, Boston for making this such a wonderful event to have been a part of. P+K are looking forward to capturing future Bat and Bar Mitzvahs with wonderful warm and loving families like Zoe’s. Mazal tov and Happy 13th to Zoe! As a Boston-based photographer, Person + Killian Photography has the opportunity to work in some of Boston’s most beautiful and unique venues, like The State Room Boston with its breathtaking views.

Although, better than the views and the venues are the families Person + Killian have the opportunity to work with, like the Watts family.  The minute Mike, Jessie and her parents walked into our Newbury Street studio, Lauren knew they were special.  It was obvious they are loving and sweet and looking forward to their beautiful fall wedding.

The email Jessie’s mom sent Lauren after the wedding, says it all.

Jessie loved having you shoot her wedding – you had her from “hello” as the movie goes- as she just felt that she clicked with you from the first meeting.  We knew your
personality was a great fit but we were so impressed with your focus and
professionalism during the event.  I know your pictures are going to be fabulous!

Congratulations Jessie + Mike! Can’t wait for you to see the rest of your images! Your disk is already in the mail.

A big Thank you to all the talented vendors we worked with on this beautiful event!

Person + Killian Photography are always delighted to be hired for a party planned by Rafanelli Events. We have had the good fortune to work with this amazing event company in the past and are always impressed by the seamless way they throw an over the top event. Saturday’s Bar Mitzvah at a private home in Chestnut Hill was no exception.

With the meticulous direction and vision of Rafanelli Events, stunning floral design by Marc Hall of Winston Flowers and lighting by Port, three Tents were morphed into spectacular getaways reminiscent of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. Spectacular green plants filled the tent, decorated with matching green linens and accented by deep brown and white wicker lounge furniture.

The main tent, which was home to the morning Bar Mitzvah service, was transformed for the evening event into the “JD Hideaway”. Created for the guest of honor, the “hideaway” provided plenty of activities where the nearly 200 kids had a blast. The night was filled with fun food, games, custom-made airbrushed t-shirts, henna tattoos, dancers and more! P+K had the pleasure of capturing the details and happenings of the night along side the talented video team of AfterImage Productions.
