JILL PERSON – Jill Person is so much more than the person behind the camera. Her vibrant personality, sense of humor and meticulous organizational skills are what drive people to her. Clients love her positive energy, her creative and artistic spirit, but it is her attention to the details that have her clients and those in the industry eager to work with her.
Jill is passionate about her craft and equally passionate about capturing the essence of the day. She takes the time to not only get to know her clients as people, but, to understand them as a couple, and get a sense of those in their lives that are of the greatest importance. This is not only true of her wedding clients, but all of her clients. Understanding who people are at their core, the heart of a family, the soul of a company, or the goals of an event, are what allows her become part of the day and to successfully capture those moments that should not be forgotten.
Since the age of 5 when she received her first camera, Jill has been narrating life’s big and small moments through the lens. The enthusiasm for photography has intensified throughout the years. Growing up just north of Boston allowed her the opportunity to constantly refine her craft. She served as editor for her high school yearbook, took film and media classes, produced and directed TV shows in her hometown and enrolled in Salem State University’s photography program. Shortly after graduating with a BA in Photography, and a Psychology minor, Person + Killian Photography was launched. Lauren Killian and Jill Person’s mutual feelings about how to capture life’s most important moments, has garnered them many accolades and awards. But what they have valued the most during their years together, are the friendships they have formed with their clients and the solid network of industry partners. Jill has been on the board of the New England Chapter of the National Association for Catering and Events, comprised of over 200+ wedding and event professionals, for the past 15 years and was the President in years 2015 and 2016.
Her dedication to her clients and to this industry consumes most of her time but when she is not behind the lens, editing photographs or crafting albums for her clients, she is devoted to her other life passions. Married to her wife Cat since 2005, they are avid outdoor adventurers.
