Imagine a summer destination wedding on the New Hampshire shore. Green grass, blue ocean waters, rocky shorelines, sailboats docked nearby. We had all of this and more at Linsey and Chris’ New Hampshire wedding at the beautiful Wentworth by the Sea. We had actually met Linsey and Chris last year when we were photographing Brittany and Bryan’s Newport, RI wedding — Linsey was a bridesmaid in Brittany’s wedding party. Linsey and Chris’ destination wedding day was full of soft summer colors like pastel teal and peach, all set against the gorgeous backdrop of the New Hampshire seashore.

Linsey and her bridesmaids got ready in one of the Marina Suites at Wentworth by the Sea, while Chris and his guys were in the main building of the resort. Chris waited out on the docks overlooking the waterfront for Linsey to join him for their first look and some formal photos — the rocky cliffs and sailboat marina made for the perfect backdrop. We were joined by the rest of the wedding party for some fun and formal photos on the gorgeous green Wentworth by the Sea lawns and gardens.

We moved off-site for Linsey and Chris’ wedding ceremony, followed by some photos with the newlyweds in the classic old New England church where they said their “I do”s. The entire wedding party joined the bride and groom at the beautiful Great Island Commons, a park directly overlooking the ocean below. We got a few more formal photos and headed back to Wentworth by the Sea for the rest of the evening’s celebration.

The bride and groom chose soft colors of peach and white, accented with a few pops of gold and soft candlelight for their wedding reception decor. The resulting vibe was a beautiful mix of classic New England — vintage and historical — with a bit of whimsy and fun thrown in. Above everything else, Linsey and Chris just wanted to enjoy every minute of the day, and to be surrounded by the people they love while celebrating their new life together.

Special thank you’s go out to Linsey and Chris, to Tracy and her team at Inked Events, and to Laura and her team at the beautiful Wentworth by the Sea!

Erin and Joey first met when Joey was hired to paint Erin’s best friend’s house several years ago. The couple decided to incorporated paint-themed details into their Barn at Gibbet Hill wedding day to pay homage to the day that started it all. The couple wanted their wedding day to be bright and colorful with a vintage and rustic feel and Gibbet Hill was the perfect venue for that.

After getting ready at the Westford Regency Inn & Conference Center, we headed to Groton to the beautiful St James Church for the wedding ceremony. Erin and Joey said their “I do”s during a traditional Catholic Wedding Mass before making their way to the Barn at Gibbet Hill for the reception. Joey’s uncle is a priest and performed their ceremony which made their nuptials extra special.

It was a perfect summer day and the green hills on the property of Gibbet Hill made for a beautiful backdrop for photographs with Erin, Joey, and their wedding party. The Barn itself was transformed into a rustic and elegant wedding reception for the evening’s dinner and dancing. A colorful arrangement of wooden painting sticks served as the guests’ escort cards, and they were hung between two painter’s ladders to pay tribute to the day Erin and Joey first met. The bright coral and green centerpieces were displayed in golden paint buckets, and the table’s menu cards featured a beautiful border of hand-painted pink flowers. We loved how the bride and groom added so many personal details to their decor, making their day a truly unique and romantic one. Following dinner, their guests packed the dance floor to celebrate with this wonderful couple!

A special thank you to the entire Barn at Gibbet Hill wedding team for this gorgeous event, and to Erin and Joey for letting us be a part of it! Congratulations!

When we asked Elizabeth + Randolph to describe the look and feel of their wedding day, they said “rustic, romantic, and shabby chic”! This beautiful summer wedding took place at the Inn at Pleasant Lake in New London, NH, and was full of cute and creative DIY details that really showed the fun personalities of the bride and groom. With details like a clothespin photo wall and chalkboard signs, this lakeside wedding was a perfect mix of rustic country and elegant chic!

Elizabeth spend the morning with her bridesmaids getting ready at her mom’s lake house, located on the water of Lake Sunapee while Randolph and the groomsmen got ready at a nearby home on the water. The atmosphere was fun and casual — the ladies got their hair and makeup done, helped Elizabeth get into her wedding gown, and hung out with the couple’s three adorable dogs that made the trip all the way up from New York for the wedding day! We took Elizabeth and her wedding party outside for some formal photos on their private bridge before heading off to the church.

The wedding ceremony was held at the beautiful First Baptist Church of New London, an adorably quaint New England church in New London, NH. Elizabeth + Randolph’s unique wedding program featured an illustrated introduction of their entire wedding party, as well as “fun facts” about the bride and groom on the back. The inside of the white church was accented with large blue, green, and white floral arrangements from Winston Flowers, as well as a summery floral wreath underneath the pulpit.

Following the ceremony, we made our way to the Inn at Pleasant Lake for the reception, and took advantage of the late summer sunshine with some more wedding party pictures right on the shores of the beautiful lake. While the rest of the wedding party headed up to the wedding tent to enjoy cocktails, we spent a few minutes lakeside, taking pictures with Elizabeth and Randolph before beginning the evening party.

The tented wedding reception was full of fun rustic chic details — the tables were covered in burlap-colored linens and surrounded by wooden cabin chairs. Guests were directed to their dinner tables with personalized postcard escort cards, hung with clothespins on a fun DIY twine. Guests were welcomed into the tent with a rustic wooden door covered top to bottom in adorable pictures of Elizabeth + Randolph! Winston Flowers added a fun pop of blue and green to the reception tent with their beautiful arrangements.

After the first dance, dinner, and formal toasts from friends and family, the party really kicked off. Purple up lights filled the tent with color, and sparkling china lanterns were lit up around the outside of the tent. Even the trees outside the tent were covered in strings of white light, perfect for a fun summer wedding night. Everyone had a blast celebrating this day with such a wonderful and fun couple, and we were thrilled to be there with them to capture it all! Thank you to Elizabeth + Randolph for including us in your special day!

Recently, Person + Killian Photography photographed the Boston Wedding of Elizabeth and Terry. The day began at the Langham Hotel, where the bride, bridesmaids and parents got ready followed by an emotional ceremony at Our Lady’s Church in Newton. From there, we headed to Post Office Square for photos and then back to the Langham for their celebration.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel until the end of the evening we were surrounded by such a wonderful group of people. The newlyweds, along with the families and friends, never stopped smiling, lauging and enjoying each and every moment. Capturing the wedding was an absolutle pleasure. So, when we received the below email from the bride yesterday, we were thrilled!

I cannot even begin to tell you how thrilled we are with the pictures from the wedding. They are absolutely gorgeous. You were so fun and easy to be around and we felt so comfortable with you and it shows in your beautiful pictures. I have no clue how we are going to pick!! I can’t thank you enough. – Elizabeth

Thank you Elizabeth and Terry for the kind words and for being so wonderful to work with throughout your wedding day!

Person + Killian Photography recently got a mini-tour of some of Boston’s finest locales for the wedding of Katherine and Ronnie. Katherine works for The Best of Boston, LTD., so she already knew what she was looking for in her wedding photographers and locations.

The day began at The Ames Hotel, where the bridal party got ready. This is a fairly new hotel, so we were excited to have an opportunity to shoot in a new venue. Not only is it full of natural light, but it also offers a great view of downtown Boston!

Before the ceremony, we made two stops to get some pictures. The first, for formals, was at the always-beautiful Boston Public Garden. The second stop, per Ronnie’s request, was at the Boston Harbor Hotel for a quick photo under the arch.

From there, we headed to the ceremony site – the Old North Church in Boston’s historic North End. Situated right on the Freedom Trail, the church provided us a great location to capture some beautiful images.

One of our favorite shots of the day was this photo of little Annie, the adorable flower girl.

Following the ceremony, the celebration moved to the Hampshire House on Beacon St. The Library (just one of the rooms Hampshire House has to offer) boasts floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and a gorgeous marble fireplace, which help create a cozy, intimate atmosphere for dining.

All in all, it was a perfect day. We had the joy of photographing a wonderful couple, as well as visiting some of Boston’s best venues. We also always enjoy doing events at the Hampshire House. Thank you to Michelle Reid and her team. As always, they were so great to work with!

Congratulations, Katherine and Ronnie!

Happy wedding day, indeed! Even though we weren’t there as guests, Person + Killian Photography was thrilled to spend the day at the gorgeous Hyatt Harborside for Stefanie and Michael’s Boston wedding. Overlooking Boston Harbor, the Hyatt’s unique location provides an exceptional view of the city, making it one of Boston’s most scenic wedding venues.

The bridesmaids wore knee-length dresses and carried lovely blue and ivory bouquets. When we asked Stefanie what had inspired these colors, she said this: “We wanted to achieve simple elegance. I chose navy, silver, and ivory as inspiration colors, because I felt they were timeless and didn’t dictate a season. To me, they will always be classic colors that will never go out of style.”

Because Michael is a Boston firefighter, they knew that their wedding album would not be complete without a picture or two of the newlyweds in front of one of the city’s fire trucks!

Even as darkness fell, guests were treated to a stunning vista. What had been a beautiful, sun-lit view of the harbor during the afternoon became a dazzling view of the night skyline once the sun went down.

Stefanie and Michael, thank you for choosing Person + Killian Photography. We had a wonderful time capturing your special day! Congratulations!

Talk about kicking off a season in style! Person + Killian Photography recently had a blast at Regina & John’s autumn wedding at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel.

The festivities began at the bride’s home in South Boston, where the wedding party got ready. Kerry Roberts was chosen to create Regina’s simple, yet elegant hairstyle, and for her makeup, the bride turned to Julianne Saunders.

After donning her beautiful Pronovias wedding gown, it was off to the Gate of Heaven Church (also in South Boston) for the ceremony. Needless to say, the magnificent cathedral provided more than a handful of stunning photo-ops.

Before heading to the reception, we had two important stops to make: the first, at the Boston Public Garden for some formals, and the second, at the Broadway Fire House for some adorable pictures of the bride and groom. John is a Boston firefighter, so we were thrilled to be able to incorporate that into their photos.

(We also LOVE that Regina wasn’t afraid to get into the front seat of his ladder truck, despite being in that gorgeous gown!)

The reception was held at Boston’s Park Plaza Hotel. While the richly adorned grand ballroom gave the event an air of majesty, it was the couple’s family and friends (many of whom flew in from Ireland!) that made the evening truly special.

(The traditional Irish dancing was a nice treat, too!)

Person + Killian Photography would like to send a shout out to Abby Power, the fabulous event coordinator for the Park Plaza. We would also like to thank the wonderful couple, Regina & John, for choosing Person + Killian. It truly was a pleasure to work with you. Congratulations!

The final weekend of summer found Person + Killian Photography at some of Boston’s finest venues for the State Room Boston wedding of Erika and Mark. The day began at the InterContinental Hotel, where the bridal party primped and preened before heading off to the Cathedral of the Holy Cross for the ceremony.

Erika looked gorgeous in a strapless Monique L’hullier gown. Complementing the look with a simple, yet beautiful updo by Stilisti Salon, and makeup by Dani Wagener, she was the picture of elegance.

Following the ceremony, we headed off towards Post Office Square for pictures – but not before stopping to snap a few shots with the couple’s adorable bulldog, Bella!

The reception was held at none other than the State Room. The venue itself is gorgeous, but combine that with the spectacular view? Breathtaking.

The cake (complete with the charming bulldog cake topper!) was done by Jenny’s Cakes. It was a lovely complement to the tablescapes designed by our dear friend Chad Michael Peters, who worked with A Deux to create the menu cards and place cards.

Congratulations Erika & Mark! Thank you for choosing Person + Killian Photography for your special day!

This past weekend, Person + Killian Photography was delighted to be present at the glamorous InterContinental Hotel wedding of Nicole Melino and Christopher Ponzo. For those of you who don’t know, this Boston couple was recently featured on Boston Hearts Weddings as part of the site’s Blogging the Bride project. The project follows the couple through all of the major stages of wedding planning, and it includes everything from their engagement story to their menu selection – not to mention all of the details in between!

The bride looked stunning in a strapless gown from L’élite Bridal Boutique, and makeup artist Katrina Hess helped her achieve the beautifully classic, yet modern look that complemented the gown so well.

Not only was it a treat to work with such a wonderful couple, but also, we had the opportunity to work with some of Boston’s most esteemed wedding vendors.

Tangorra Wedding Planning worked with the bride and groom throughout the planning process to coordinate the details, and on the big day, planners Francie and Megan were there to make sure nothing was forgotten.

Along with Person + Killian Photography, Jason and Jim from Boston Wedding Films were there to capture the day in its entirety.

The reception was held at Boston’s luxurious InterContinental Hotel. Thanks to the hotel’s fabulous location, guests were treated to striking views of both the city skyline and the waterfront. In fact, the venue afforded a perfect view for the celebratory fireworks display.

We want to thank Paul Melino of InterContinental Hotel (who also happens to be the uncle of the beautiful bride) for referring Person + Killian Photography to the couple. Not only did we enjoy working with the hotel, but we also had a wonderful time photographing the couple throughout their whole planning process. Congratulations, Nicole and Christopher!

Every wedding season we have the pleasure of working with fantastic couples that choose Cape Cod for their wedding destination. The Cape is filled with seaside venues in its delightful towns that are packed full of picturesque settings. Together, this makes for the quintessential Cape Cod wedding. So, it was no surprise that Grisha & Robbie’s end of the summer wedding would have science views, New England charm, lovely details, beautiful weather and a gorgeous sunset.

Congratulations Grisha & Robbie and thank you for trusting Person + Killian Photography to be a part of this important day! It was a pleasure working with you and your lovely families.

Laura & Newt had a beautiful wedding at a private home north of Boston and Person + Killian Photography was honored to be there. Thank you for choosing us to document this unforgettable New England wedding.

“After a traditional church wedding, we chose the bride’s parents’ home for our reception because we couldn’t imagine anywhere more special or more beautiful to celebrate our marriage. It was important to us that our reception be a true reflection or ourselves; our style, interest, and values”.

” Our vision for the wedding was very traditional New England, reflected in the wedding Party’s attire of navy blazers, penny loafers (san socks) and Marblehead green pants (representation of the groom’s hometown) for the gentlemen; and navy and light blue dresses for the ladies paired with classic pearl strands. The color scheme of Navy and Marblehead green was complemented by pink flowers, and some pink and light blue accents. Our love for sailing was subtly represented by the beautiful Sperry tent crafted from sail cloth, the carrick bend knot napkin rings tied by the groom, and the Carrick bend knot letterpressed into our handmade invitations and duplicated on our programs.”

“We were lucky to have the talents of our family & friends to make our wedding unique and special- a talented uncle provided music for cocktail hour, and very talented friends created beautiful paper products. True to our values, we ensured that all the food served was ethically and locally produced, and we chose to donate to a local food pantry in lieu of favors. In addition to our personalized style, the emphasis on the party was for all our guests to have fun!”
