In between all of our weddings and events, its great to be able to collaborate with a couple of fantastic local vendors and get back to the basics with some culinary photography!

This month we had the pleasure of working with Rentals Unlimited and East Meets West Catering to photograph and showcase not only the delicious creations, but a brand new line of event dinnerware from International Event Products. The culinary photography shoot took place at the Boston Exchange Conference Center, where East Meets West is the premier caterer.

“International Event Products was created to be a caterer’s true partner – to sell quality china and offer a variety of choices for unique tabletop design. We provide place settings, dishes, serving pieces, and more for caterers, hotels, conference centers, restaurants, and many other venues.”

We loved their designs — there were so many unique shapes and sizes, it really added another layer of visual appeal to the already beautiful food! East Meets West Catering provided us with plenty of delicious options to photograph, from hors d’oeuvres to entrees and a couple of stunning desserts. We loved working with these local vendors, and having the chance to work on another great culinary photography session!

Thank you to the Boston Exchange Conference Center, Rentals Unlimited, and International Event Products for this great opportunity, and to East Meets West Catering for the gorgeous food! We had a blast!

The Emerald Necklace Conservancy has been involved in sustaining and restoring the beautiful string of parks and waterways of Boston stretching from the Charles River to Dorcester known as the “Emerald Necklace” for over a decade. Person + Killian Photography was delighted to be invited to photograph the event for The Catered Affair, whose owner Holly Safford sits as one of the Chairs for the Party in the Park event. The Catered Affair team has been hard at work under the direction and design of executive chef Shane O’Neill to prepare the menu for this event for over 700 guests.

This year’s luncheon featured remarks from the Chairs, Mayor Menino and Governor Michael Dukakis, as well as a presentation of the Justine Mee Liff Spirit Award to Malcolm Rogers of Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. With great food, great company, and a lot of hard work for a great cause, this luncheon truly was “the Spring event of the year in Boston”!

Once a year soon-to-be brides and grooms head to the Hampshire House Engagement Celebration, and we were excited to attend and photograph this fun evening. This year, the color pink inspired the design and was incorporated throughout the venue from the linens by Rentals Unlimited to floral arrangements by Winston Flowers, Mimosa – Fresh Floral Design and Jeri Soloman Floral Design.

The colors carried over into the dessert display created and designed by the team at the Hampshire House. Engaged couples enjoyed strawberry milkshakes, pink signature drinks and an array of pink sweets ranging from rock candy to jellybeans. Below are just a few photographs that we captured throughout the evening celebration that we wanted to share.

A big thank you to the fabulous team at the Hampshire House for once again including us in this fantastic event!

Capers Catering, located just outside of Boston recently held a Leap Year Party as a thank you to their friends and colleagues who support them throughout the year. We were honored that they asked us to attend the celebration as local Boston event photographers! The event was held at the Grand Circle Travel Gallery in Boston’s Fort Point Channel.

The theme for the night was a mix of the color orange (that matched perfectly with the space’s decor) and the Leap Year holiday. Two signature drinks were created for the occasion – The Leap Year and Aphrodite’s Elixir.  The main attraction of the evening was the delicious food including hors d’oeuvres, dessert for dinner pancake station and end of the night sweet treats all with the orange color scheme. While guests enjoyed the diverse food selection, they were also entertained with music provided by Entertainment Specialists.

Thank you to the Capers Catering team for reaching out to Person + Killian Photography to capture your beautiful event!

Recently, we were asked to photograph the 2010 Holiday Soiree for The Ritz Carlton, Boston Common.

The event came together with the joint efforts of the Ritz staff and culinary team (led by Ritz Executive Chef Fabian Ludwig). Lending their talents were some of Boston’s finest event professionals that included floral designs by Winston Flowers, decor by PBD Events, rentals from Be Our Guest and music by “DJ Deja”, Denise LaCarubba.

Thank you to everyone at the Ritz for thinking of Person + Killian to capture this beautiful event. Below are some of our favorite shots of the decor and decadent cuisine from the evening!

As promised, Person + Killian Photography wanted to share some images from last weeks gourmet food photoshoot. This lovely display was inspired by a dinner party that MAX Ultimate Food was creating for a Chinese New Year / Valentine’s party.

Below are just a few of the images including the passed Potato Hearts with Black & Red Caviar and Crème Fraiche, Lobster Dumplings in Lacquered Box with Ginger Tomato Broth, Euoki Mushroom and Daikon Heart from the second course and Cranberry & Pomegranate Heart Shaped Pate de Fruits from the dessert station.

For the past several weeks, Person + Killian Photography has had the pleasure of working with MAX Ultimate Food on an amazing project for The Art of Celebration – The Making of a Gala – New England Style. This book, which P+K are proud to be a part of, will be published in the fall and will feature everything from the most lavish events in and around the city of Boston to the work of fine planners, caterers, entertainers, floral designers and of course – photographers.

Below are just a few of our favorites from the last couple of photoshoots, including a colorful Mosaic of Hors d’œuvres and a beautiful display of brown and white desserts. Check back soon for Part III inspired by the menu for a Chinese New Year/Valentine’s Dinner.

Last week, Person + Killian Photography had the pleasure of doing a photoshoot for one of Boston’s premier catering companies.
