The Seaport Hotel Boston wedding of Lisa and Mike was the perfect way to start off the 2015 wedding season. We began the day with the couple while they got ready at the Seaport Hotel. We love that the bride and groom wanted to go outside for their first look on the World Trade Center bridge overlooking the Boston skyline. Lisa was joined by her bridesmaids and Mike with the groomsmen for wedding party photographs. As soon as the sun set and the lights came on we were able to spend a few more minutes with the couple before heading to the ceremony.

Their ceremony took place in the Cityside Ballroom, which was transformed for the occasion with tall pillar candles and lush white and pink floral arrangements by Dana Markos.  With stunning views of the Boston Harbor and the lively seaport district at night for everyone to enjoy, the Harborside Ballroom was the perfect place for the evening reception. Blue uplighting paired with the silver linens from Rentals Unlimited and candlelight lit up the room with a winter wonderland feel as the snow fell outside.  Following their first dance, dinner and toasts, the lively World Premier Band  got everyone on their feet dancing for the rest of the evening celebration.

It was such a pleasure to work with such a fantastic couple – and we love that they were willing to spend time outside for photographs! Thank you to the entire team at the Seaport Hotel Boston and Seaport World Trade Center. Congratulations Lisa + Mike!

Last week Spring was in that air as we hosted a party to say thank you to our incredible industry friends! We work with so many amazing people each and every day in the Boston wedding industry, and our P+K  party is a chance for us to give back, say “thanks”, and celebrate the beginning of a fantastic 2014 wedding season. We are so blessed to have met and worked with so many talented professionals and are truly grateful for the friendships we have made. We look forward to throwing this event and can’t thank everyone enough for being there!

This year our Celebrate Spring Industry Soiree was at the beautiful Exchange Conference Center on Boston’s water front! The ECC was transformed into a Spring paradise thanks to the fantastic vision of our friend Amy Kimball and her team at Amy Kimball Events. The room was saturated in colors of raspberry pink and orange — color-washed walls from Boston Uplights, beautiful window decals featuring photos of some of our favorite 2013 P+K weddings, and a series of beautiful spring flower arrangements from Dana Markos. In the Exchange Conference Center foyer guests were immediately greeted by a stunning multi-layered floral arrangement, featuring a mix of short, tall and submerged spring flowers in beautiful colors of yellow, orange, and pink. A wall of custom window decals gave special thanks to all of the fantastic vendors who made this night possible, as well as added a really fun pop of color to the foyer space!

The main space featured a beautiful grass-lined wall that was literally springing with real live pink and orange flowers, as well as a stunning spring tree centerpiece in the middle of the room that was hung with fun acrylic flower cut-outs. We loved the bright pink cocktail tables and the colorful orange and pink flowers that topped each of them. We served custom spring cocktails in fun mason jars, with matching pink and orange striped straws for sipping! Guests enjoyed customized hand massages and skin treatment from Arbonne, a special “UV Light Booth” to rejuvenate after a long winter, full makeovers from Ajessence makeup, and could even get their fortunes read from a set of two tarot card readers. Kupah James from Klass Universal kept the music going all night, and we all had so much fun chatting and mingling with some of our favorite industry friends!

We were so thrilled to share this night with so many wonderful people, and we are so grateful to everyone who came out and made this night possible! Extra special thank you to Amy Kimball Events, Rentals Unlimited, Dana Markos Events, Katrina Hess Makeup, Demiche Beaute’, Boston Uplights, Kupah James and Klass Universal, SignsAndPrints.Com, Arbonne International, Ajessence, East Meets West Catering, and the entire team at the Exchange Conference Center.

Twice a year the Boston wedding and event industry gets together to socialize, network and attend a panel discussion. The Marketing to the High End Bride breakfast is a wonderful tradition in the Boston wedding industry, and we are always honored to be a part of it. The Spring event was held at the beautiful Harvard Club of Boston, and featured a panel discussion on “Great Wedding Problem Solvers” with some of Boston’s top wedding professionals. Arlene Cronk of Invitations & Company (who is also the creator and organizer of the High End Bride Breakfast), moderated the panel discussion.

The event was planned by Unique Weddings by Alexis with sleek and modern decor. The colors of black and white to beautifully complimented the Harvard Club of Boston’s hues of red and natural wood. For the “mixing and mingling” first half of the event, the Harvard Club’s second floor rooms were scattered with high cocktail tables featuring fun black and white patterned linens. Cocktail tables were topped with floral arrangements from Dana Markos Events.

A seated breakfast and the panel discussion took place downstairs in the Harvard Club’s Harvard Hall, which featured sleek and modern black and white tables from RESERVE Modern Event Rental. The alternating black and white tabletops were paired with a mix of beautiful lattice-backed chairs and sleek white lounge furniture for a fun and comfortable atmosphere. The tables were set with some of the newest china and glassware from Rentals Unlimited, including their chic new black and frosted white goblets, and featured bright green centerpieces in alternating black and white containers (perfect for the first day of Spring!). Following the formalities of the morning, guests were treated to a delicious gourmet doughnut wedding cake display as well as a make-your-own frozen yogurt station from Orange Leaf that included wedding cake frozen yogurt.

We always love being a part of this special industry event — special thanks to Arlene Cronk and the entire team at the Harvard Club of Boston for another fabulous breakfast!

Maria and Jack wanted their wedding to celebrate all things summer — with fun backyard games, bright vibrant colors, and a beautiful tented reception at Moraine Farm in Beverly, this was a perfect first-day-of-summer event! The Bride has had a long history with camp Wawenock for girls in Raymond, ME where the colors are blue & orange!

Maria and Jack chose to incorporate these colors into their wedding, starting with the invitations and save-the-date cards mailed out to guests. Maria wore a classic strapless white wedding gown and carried a soft white summer bouquet, and her bridesmaids kept to the color scheme with dark navy blue dresses and colorful orange flower arrangements. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day, and we took all our formal pictures of the bride, groom and their wedding party outside on the lawn of Moraine Farm.

The outdoor ceremony had a great garden wedding feel, with white garden chairs and pops of orange flowers along the aisle. There were so many fun and colorful DIY elements — chalkboard signs, signature drinks served in mason jars, and custom-monogrammed blue and orange lawn games, which the bride and groom enjoyed playing with right after saying “I do”. Guest’s menu cards even featured cute “Maria and Jack” trivia questions at the top of each!

The wedding reception tent was bright, sunny and colorfully decorated for this great summer wedding. Dark blue linens were accented with pops of orange flowers, and bunches of orange and yellow paper lanterns were hung from the ceiling. Their classic white wedding cake was topped with a twist of bright blue and orange ribbon, and strings of twinkling lights were lit up around the edges of the tent as soon as the sun went down for a warm, intimate wedding reception.

We loved all the details of this fun summer wedding, the mix of bold bright colors and rustic DIY elements was perfect for an outdoor summer wedding at the Moraine Farm. Congratulations Maria and Jack, thank you for letting us be a part of your beautiful wedding day!

Aleena and Ohan let their heritage play a big role in their traditional Armenian wedding at the beautiful Crane Estate in Ipswich, Ma.

The bride and groom started the day by getting ready with their families at their separate family homes before heading over to the church in Watertown. The couple’s family and friends were joined by guests from all over the world for the day’s events. The wedding was traditional Armenian which included a crowning ceremony for the new bride and groom. After the ceremony and a few formal photos at the church, we headed to Ipswich.

Aleena and Ohan chose the Crane Estate’s exquisite seaside Great House for their tented wedding reception. Upon arrival, guests enjoyed the sweeping view of the Estate at a cocktail hour on the outdoor terrace. Before the reception began, we had the opportunity to take the couple down to the Estate’s Italian Garden for a few more photos. Following cocktail hour, the wedding guests were moved into the tent, beautifully designed by Dana Markos Events!

We love that Aleena changed into a more party-friendly dress to kick off the dancing following dinner. We were so happy to be able to capture this important day for Aleena and Ohan, congratulations to the happy couple!

Summer wedding season is really starting to kick off, and what a beautiful weekend it was for Nicole and Ethan! After pre-wedding preparations at Nicole’s family home, the evening kicked off with a ceremony at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church. Once the couple said “I do”, it was off to the Ipswich Country Club to celebrate!

The clubhouse at the Ipswich Country Club provided the perfect setting for the evening cocktail reception and festivities. Windows surround the reception hall, ensuring a spectacular view of the estate–especially around sunset! The bride and groom chose decor that was both elegant and sophisticated, but still reflected their fun personalities. Ipswich’s own Dana Markos provided the breathtaking flowers for the event, adding elegance and a splash of color to the already perfect backdrop of the Country Club.

Congratulations to Nicole and Ethan and thank you for being so wonderful to work with!

Tiffany and Joe describe their recent wedding as a “Romantic English country garden wedding” and they chose the perfect location at the North Shore’s Crane Estate at Castle Hill in Ipswich. After getting ready at the Inn at Castle Hill, Tiffany and Joe shared their first look in the beautiful and romantic Italian Garden. From there, the outdoor ceremony took place on the properties famous rolling lawn.

For the reception, the guests moved into the clear tent that was decked out in lavender, celadon and fuchsia floral arrangements by our dear friend and talented floral designer Dana Markos of Dana Markos Events. The bride even changed the sash on her stunning Vera Wang dress from champagne to lavender for the second half of the day’s celebrations.

The couple and their guests danced into the early hours of the morning with the Sultans of Swing and stopped only to cut into one of their delicious cupcakes by Jenny’s Cakes and a few impromptu performances with guests and the band. A special thanks to the fabulous Francie of Tangorra Wedding Planning for helping make Tiff and Joe’s wedding such a successful and a memorable day for Person + Killian Photography to capture!

Person + Killian Photography was excited to come together with some of New England’s best wedding vendors to support Brides Against Breast Cancer.

The editors of the wedding blog chatty brides summed it up perfectly-  “So, let me tell you Ladies how awesome this show was if you were unable to attend! Bright pink lighting set the perfectly spring florals from Dana Markos Events aglow behind the runway! Then, Real Breast Cancer Survivors modeled the GORGEOUS Kleinfeld Manhattan Dresses. All ages and shapes, these ladies were perfect models for wedding gowns! A snippet of their story played just before they walked down the runway, filmed by Generations Cinemastories. It was emotional and fabulous all at the same time!”

Of course, P+K were thrilled to work with Randy Fenoli, who is the fashion director for Kleinfeld Manhattan and a regular on TLC “Say Yes to the Dress”. He was the perfect host and charmed the entire crowd. Below is a sneak peek at a few of our favorite moments from this fantastic event.
