Local event rental company Peterson Party Center loves showcasing the talent of all the Boston vendors they get to work with! Every month, they select a team of Boston wedding professionals to put together a gorgeous table — their “Table of the Month”, which we were thrilled to be able to photograph.

This December, event planner Edna Dratch-Parker of EFD Creative teamed with Jeri Solomon Floral Design and Megan Chapin Calligraphy to put together this picturesque winter-themed table! The designers were able to browse Peterson’s new showroom and use anything they wanted to create their masterpiece.

This table combined deep red linens with festive chargers for a bold, elegant look. Snowflake details on each place setting and a towering ice-inspired centerpiece tied together the winter theme, perfect for the month of December. “I was going for a classic and elegant holiday theme with a bit of sparkle!” – Edna

Thank you to Peterson Party Center and all the talented Boston wedding professionals who helped put this table together, we love being able to photograph your stunning work!

This isn’t your average tea party! The annual Teddy Bear Tea at the Taj Boston combines a tea party, festive holiday decorations, LOTS of teddy bears, and its all for a good cause!

“The young and young at heart will thrill to the magical Teddy Bear Tea, with a child-approved, bright, colorful and deliciously decadent holiday-themed menu that includes tea sandwiches, cookies, hot chocolate and a host of festive activities. The Dining Room provides a fairytale setting, perfect for guest to enjoy story-telling by Mrs. Claus, letters to Santa, cookie decorating, face painting, holiday arts & crafts and holiday sing-a-longs with a pianist under the crystal chandeliers.” (

Children are also encouraged to bring a toy or gift to donate, which will go directly to the Boston Children’s Hospital along with proceeds from the tea party.

Thank you to the Taj Boston for such a fun, beautiful, and worthwhile event!

It’s not every day we get to go to a party like this!

Guests had no idea what they were in for when the evening began, but they did know something unique was about to happen. The invitations asked guests to arrive at the Meadowbrook School in Weston at 5:30pm (with a note that said “Don’t be late”).

Daisy baskets and balloons adorned each table, and drink tickets were passed out to the guests as they arrived. A DJ was playing classic cliché party songs (like the conga) and a full buffet table was set (or so it appeared that way). There was just one thing – it was all for show, and this wasn’t the party!

After about 30 mins of cocktail hour it was time to let a night of surprises begin, starting with a grand entrance by Richard Simmons to kick things off! Richard and a flash mob of dancers (who had been posing as wait staff during cocktail hour) got the crowd going to Party Rock Anthem. When the song ended, he announced “Wait a minute you guys – this isn’t the party! Come on, follow me!”… The guests headed outside and were given small champagne bottles as they loaded up in vans for destination unknown.

The motorcade finally stopped on the runway at the Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford. The cars pulled up to a hanger with a large custom tent alongside it. The tent was divided into several rooms, starting with a vibrant, colorful cocktail reception. Designer Marc Hall commented that “the design inspiration for the night was piloted by the passion the clients have for intense color”, and it definitely showed.

For this space, custom fabric treatments including the large lampshade over the bar, acrylic tables and caviar station, 5′ tall orange velvet diamond tufted banquettes and 5′ tall diamond shaped mirror vases we all custom made for the client. Every detail from the origami place cards to the color shirts and ties of the staff was hand picked to go with each color scheme adding to the wow factor of the design!

After cocktails, guests were led through a fabric lit blue corridor into the dining room. Draped fabric ceilings, dramatic lighting by PORT Lighting Systems, tables and chairs filled with even more custom decor and stunning floral arrangements took everyone’s breath away.

As dinner service was perfectly executed by the team at The Catered Affair (who also coordinated and produced the event), the guests enjoyed another surprise — a private concert performance by Partridge Family star David Cassidy! David was a big hit, especially when he sang “I Think I Love You”.  The night was still far from over!

A journey through another beautifully draped area of the tent led the party guests to their final destination for the evening which took place inside the airplane hanger itself.  Brand new white luxury pod seating with pearl banquettes and ottomans from PBD Events filled the space and popped against the black walls and flooring with purple and blue spot lighting by East Coast Lighting.

Once all the guests had made it in, it was time for the final surprise of the night to be unveiled – an actual Live Nation concert! A 60 foot tall section of fabric dropped to reveal a full scale stage. Behind the curtain – Bon Jovi!!! The band performed to perfection for 100+ guests and with so much energy in the room, the band even came back for a 15 minute encore! Everyone who was part of this unbelievable event had an amazing night to remember and we are so thrilled we were there to capture it all!

Imagine this — an event at the House of Blues Boston, over 1,500 guests in attendance, and the main event: a series of 16 matches pairing the top businessmen, techies, and CEOs of Boston in boxing competitions all raising money for cancer research!

This is what Haymakers for Hope is all about, and Person + Killian Photography absolutely loved photographing their extremely successful fundraising event. The evening consisted of 16 separate fights, involving 32 fighters, all of whom were complete boxing novices just a few short months ago. The volunteer fighters come from all walks of life, from sales representatives and restaurant owners to teachers and traders, and they all come with one goal in mind — to help raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund. They weren’t kidding when they said they were fighting cancer!

The event, designed by Amy Kimball Events, was a big success. Great fun, great fights, and everyone got to help out a very deserving cause. Congratulations to Haymakers Co-Founders Andrew  Myerson and Julie Anne Kelly and all of the volunteers who worked hard on this event! Find out more at

The Emerald Necklace Conservancy has been involved in sustaining and restoring the beautiful string of parks and waterways of Boston stretching from the Charles River to Dorcester known as the “Emerald Necklace” for over a decade. Person + Killian Photography was delighted to be invited to photograph the event for The Catered Affair, whose owner Holly Safford sits as one of the Chairs for the Party in the Park event. The Catered Affair team has been hard at work under the direction and design of executive chef Shane O’Neill to prepare the menu for this event for over 700 guests.

This year’s luncheon featured remarks from the Chairs, Mayor Menino and Governor Michael Dukakis, as well as a presentation of the Justine Mee Liff Spirit Award to Malcolm Rogers of Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. With great food, great company, and a lot of hard work for a great cause, this luncheon truly was “the Spring event of the year in Boston”!

It’s not often we get to photograph an entire Mitzvah celebration — morning service and all — but this past Sunday afternoon Jacob’s Bar Mitzvah was a welcome exception!

Person + Killian Photography had a great time with Jacob and his whole family at this event, which began at the Congregation Kehillath Israel in Brookline with a tradition morning service, followed by a reception luncheon at the temple. Everything ran smoothly and looked gorgeous thanks to Carol Silverston and Jodi Raphael Events who did all of the planning and floral design for the celebration. After a short afternoon break, the evening dinner party kicked off a few hours later at Bella Luna Restaurant in Jamaica Plain.  Klass Universal Entertainment kept kids dancing all night!

Thanks to Jacob and the whole family for a great day, and for letting Person + Killian be a part of it! Below are some of the highlights from Jacob’s big day:

Our friends at Longwood Events are doing good this Spring! Even while they are busy creating and hosting stunning weddings and galas at any one of their five high-end Boston and Rhode Island venues, Longwood Events has still managed to create a brand new non-profit branch of their organization. We were happy to be invited to join as Longwood Events launches Longwood Giving this year!

The goal of Longwood Giving is to help struggling non-profits pump up their fundraising efforts through well-executed events, and eventually allow them to bring in more money for great causes. And who better to help out in such a valiant effort than Longwood Events?

Longwood Giving was launched earlier this month with their “Friends with Benefits” event, held at Longwood’s own State Room Boston, and Person + Killian Photography was delighted to be asked to be the exclusive photographers for the evening!

Longwood Giving partnered with the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) for this VIP event, whose highlights included culinary masters from both Boston and Nantucket, actual MLB Players Alumni, and a performance by up-and-coming artist (and recent Grammy winner!) Shea Rose.

Congratulations to Longwood Events for a very successful night, and thank you for letting Person + Killian Photography be a part of it!

Person + Killian Photography had a blast participating in TLC’s new show Randy to the Rescue, starring Randy Fenoli of Say Yes to the Dress fame.

The event, held at the Sheraton Boston Hotel, featured bridal consultations from Randy himself and a presentation full of tips and advice for choosing the perfect gown.  Over 350 people and 200 brides-to-be came out to the event, for a chance to consult with Randy and meet with some of Boston’s top wedding professionals.

Person + Killian Photography had a great time participating in and photographing this event (with someone like Randy involved, how could we not???), and we are so happy we had the opportunity to be part of it!

Check out some of our favorite photos below, and keep an eye out for the show to be aired on TLC starting this June!

Back in 2010 we had the pleasure of photographing the Brides Against Breast Cancer event at Bloomingdales in Chestnut Hill and Randy came out to support the wonderful cause. Check out some of the photos from that event here!

When Arlene Cronk, owner of Invitations & Company, asked Person + Killian Photography to once again be a part of this spring’s Marketing to the High-End Bride event, we just couldn’t say no! This meeting (the 13th thus far) was held at the beautiful Charles Hotel in Harvard Square Cambridge, and included networking opportunities, a panel discussion with some of Boston’s top wedding professionals, and delicious breakfast prepared by renowned Chef Jody Adams of Rialto!

The early morning reception was held in The Charles Hotel’s own Rialto Restaurant and Bar, after which we moved into the Regatta Bar for the latter half and panel discussion. The Regatta looked stunning under the design of Marrero Events, with help from Rentals Unlimited for linens and decor and splashes of color from two gorgeous florists — Madison Floral and Karla Cassidy Designs. The topic of this years discussion was “Embrace your Competition”, with a panel consisting of event professionals from several different backgrounds including Janie Haas of Janie Haas Events, and prominent special event DJ Mike Amado of Entertainment Specialists.

As always, Person + Killian Photography had a blast photographing such a fun and beautiful event for fellow Boston wedding professionals!

Marketing to the High-End Bride is produced by Arlene Cronk, owner of Invitations & Company, a social stationery boutique in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood since 1991. Held each spring and fall, the Marketing to the High-End Bride event is designed exclusively for upscale wedding professionals looking to reach their business goals in the most highly-competitive segment of the market.  The event format — a breakfast and panel discussion held every six months at a luxury Boston venue — is an alternative to the more structured forums of the typical professional association.  As such, it is designed specifically in both format and content to fit the intense work style and sophisticated informational needs of the high-end professional. –

Capers Catering, located just outside of Boston recently held a Leap Year Party as a thank you to their friends and colleagues who support them throughout the year. We were honored that they asked us to attend the celebration as local Boston event photographers! The event was held at the Grand Circle Travel Gallery in Boston’s Fort Point Channel.

The theme for the night was a mix of the color orange (that matched perfectly with the space’s decor) and the Leap Year holiday. Two signature drinks were created for the occasion – The Leap Year and Aphrodite’s Elixir.  The main attraction of the evening was the delicious food including hors d’oeuvres, dessert for dinner pancake station and end of the night sweet treats all with the orange color scheme. While guests enjoyed the diverse food selection, they were also entertained with music provided by Entertainment Specialists.

Thank you to the Capers Catering team for reaching out to Person + Killian Photography to capture your beautiful event!

Last year we photographed the annual Reebok awards dinner at the Boston Harbor Hotel. Recently we got the call to cover this year’s celebration held at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. The Shapiro Family Courtyard (a stunning newer addition to the museum) was lit from floor to ceiling with purple lighting by High Output and the long banquet tables had bright orange floral arrangements by Winston Flowers.

Below are just a few images from the evening that we wanted to share. A big thank you to Reebok for once again reaching out and trusting us to photograph such an important annual event.
