Sisters Morgan and Reilly got to share the same spectacular B’not Mitzvah at WGBH — which meant twice the energy, excitement, entertainment and twice the WOW! This event was non-stop fun, with the help of NYC-based entertainment group Chezzam Entertainment and the stunning design and flawless execution of Twist Event Design. We started the day with Morgan, Reilly, and their family at Temple Beth Elohim for some traditional family formals before the B’not Mitzvah service began.

This event was truly one-of-a-kind, with non-stop entertainment and fun surprises around every corner. Special thanks to the team at Twist Event Design for such a stunning and creative event, and everyone at Chezzam Entertainment for the fun and energetic atmosphere! Mazel Tov Morgan and Reilly!

As soon as the service was over, guests made the drive to the WGBH studio to begin the evening party while all the kids hopped on a bus to ride over together. The WGBH studio had been transformed into an extravagant party — stilt walkers and hula hoop performers greeted guests as the entered the building, after which they took a walk down the custom “pink carpet” entrance for the authentic paparazzi experience from Chezzam Entertainment. We snapped photos, a crowd of fans yelled and asked for autographs, and everyone got the red carpet experience with a faux news camera and interviewer.

The WGBH Atrium was set up with a custom “One Night Only” marquee, sleek white lounge furniture with custom pillows, glow tables, and a sparkling silver and pink wrap-around bar. Adults enjoyed cocktails in the Atrium, which included music from a live electric violinist, while kids spend their cocktail hour in the Frasier Studio. The studio recording booth was set up for the kids to record songs in, along with a Game Show trivia booth where they could answer trivia questions about the guests of honor and a glitter tattoo station for sparkling tattoos!WGBH Boston Event Photography 005WGBH Boston Event Photography 006WGBH Boston Event Photography 007WGBH Boston Event Photography 008WGBH Boston Event Photography 009WGBH Boston Event Photography 010WGBH Boston Event Photography 011WGBH Boston Event Photography 012WGBH Boston Event Photography 013WGBH Boston Event Photography 014WGBH Boston Event Photography 015WGBH Boston Event Photography 016WGBH Boston Event Photography 017WGBH Boston Event Photography 018

After cocktails, everyone was invited into the Atrium for the big reveal of the Calderwood Studio reception. As the studio doors opened, a wall of liquid nitrogen filled the doorway for an exciting and dramatic reveal! The room was bright and colorful with hot pink linens and towering pink and white floral centerpieces. Wreaths of colorful flowers hung from the ceiling above the table tops, and the dance floor featured plasma screens and two tall scaffolding towers for the dancers to use later in the night. After a quick dance set, the costumed crew from Chezzam Entertainment ushered in Morgan and Reilly for their grand entrance!WGBH Boston Event Photography 019WGBH Boston Event Photography 020WGBH Boston Event Photography 021

While the adults enjoyed their dinner, the kids took a seat on the dance floor for the video montage, a welcome speech from Morgan and Reilly’s parents, and a traditional candle lighting ceremony. Then it was back up onto the dance floor for a fun and energetic Hora! The first performance of the evening from Chezzam Entertainment was a Lady Gaga inspired dance routine followed by a VMA-inspired Justin Timberlake performance to get everybody up and dancing! The dancers passed out hats, sunglasses, and props for everyone to use on the dance floor, and all the photos from inside the photo booth were projected on the plasma screens for everyone to watch.WGBH Boston Event Photography 022WGBH Boston Event Photography 023

Following dinner, “human tables” walked around the Atrium with an assortment of desserts on their skirts for guests to choose from, while a stunning acrobatic artist put on a show high above the crowd. Guests also enjoyed custom cookies and take-home candy boxes.WGBH Boston Event Photography 024WGBH Boston Event Photography 025WGBH Boston Event Photography 026WGBH Boston Event Photography 027Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley, Cocktails and Reception at WGBH Studios Boston, Twist Event Design & Management for all event design and decor, MAX Ultimate Food, Chezzam Entertainment, Port Lighting

We were so lucky to get to spend the day with Frank, Michelle and their beautiful family last weekend for their spring wedding at the Revere Hotel right in downtown Boston. Michelle and Frank had the honor of being the very first wedding to take place in the Revere Hotel’s Space 57!

We spent the afternoon with the couple getting ready at their brownstone home in Boston’s South End. The roof deck above their house was a perfect place for some photos of the couple, with a breathtaking view of Boston as the background!

We walked to a nearby park for formal wedding pictures with Michelle, Frank, and their wedding party — which included their four wonderful children — and the warm, sunny spring weather held out all afternoon.

Before heading off to the ceremony, Michelle, Frank, and the kids wanted to stop for a few minutes in the street’s crosswalk for some classic “Abby Road” shots! We snapped a few more pictures outside the brownstone with the family before heading into The Revere Hotel for the wedding.

The ceremony took place on the upper level of Space 57, the hotel’s new function and event venue. The decor was clean and elegant, with clear ghost chairs for guests and large white branch arrangements on either side of the altar.

After the ceremony, guests were moved into the outer foyer for cocktails while Space 57 was transformed for the reception. MAX Ultimate Food not only provided all of the catering, but planned the entire event from the ground up. Guests enjoyed beautiful passed hors d’oeuvres like mini spring rolls, and push-up caprese salads.

The normally black Space 57 was transformed into a stunning reception space, with ghost ballroom chairs and clear table tops. Towering floral centerpieces from Carlos Colon of Columbine Floral stood out in beautiful white vases. A textured lighting pattern from Suzanne B. Lowell filled the entire space, with towers of purple uplighting surrounding the walls. The team at MAX Ultimate even brought in a custom chandelier to hang over the black dance floor.

After an evening of dancing to the sounds of Beantown and celebrating this wonderful couple, trays of mini desserts were served as late night snacks. We adored working with this couple, and getting the chance to meet all of their friends and family. Congratulations Michelle and Frank, thank you for letting us be a part of your fun and glamorous wedding day!

The Revere Hotel Boston Wedding of Michelle + Frank with MAX Ultimate Food by Person + Killian Photography, Spring 2013 Boston Wedding – Jill Person and Laurén Killian are located at 251 Newbury Street, Boston, MA in the Back Bay – 617.236.1662

Last weekend Person + Killian photographed a spectacular Boston Bat Mitzvah with Rafanelli Events. Julia’s big weekend kicked off on her birthday at Congregation Or Atid in Wayland, MA. There, we were able to capture Julia, her parents and siblings practicing for the next day’s big ceremony. After some great candid and group shots we headed out to nearby Pine Brook Country Club in Weston for a formal family dinner.

The celebration began Saturday night at WGBH Studios in Boston. The studio was decked out in fun and interactive decor that the guest of honor along with her family and friends could enjoy throughout cocktail hour including the fun candid photo wall with Julia’s signature logo. We love that Rafanelli Events was able to customize the event with the logo in everything from walls, straws and even the cupcakes. After cocktail hour, guests headed into the theater for a special video created for Julia. Guests were wowed when the doors of the studio opened to revealed the dinner and dancing portion of the evening.

The setup at Pine Brook Country Club included some of the favorite family photos that added a great personal touch to the setting.

The main lobby of WGBH was the perfect backdrop for cocktail hour. The space was divided into a sleek and modern section for the adults and a modern interactive section for the kids.

We loved the props that the crew at Rafanelli Events put together for the photo wall. They were a big hit with the guests throughout the evening and we had the opportunity to take some shots of Julia and her family at the beginning of the night.

Julia loved her custom-made sign in board that adorned the wall for guests to sign on the way into the dinner.

Following the traditional blessing of the challah, candle lighting and a few heartfelt and emotional speeches by Julia’s siblings, the crowd danced the evening away with entertainment by Kupah of KLASS Universal Entertainment. There was dancing, music videos shown on giant circle screens on the wall, break-dancing and more!

After dinner, desserts were brought out to the cocktail area complete with a cotton candy machine and make your own sundae bar for the kids tables.
