We loved all the details of this beautiful summer wedding at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston! Christina + Sean chose their color inspiration of gold and pink, and everything — from the flowers to the dresses to linens — matched perfectly. With the event design of Elizabeth Sleeper from Table 6 Productions,  the bride and groom got the perfect wedding day they always dreamed of.

Before the early evening ceremony, we spent the afternoon getting ready with Christina + Sean at the Fairmont Copley Plaza. Christina wore a stunning strapless wedding gown accented with a silver headpiece. Her floral bouquet was a beautiful mix of light pink, dark pink, and white roses and her three bridesmaids wore soft pink dresses to match.

The bride and groom decided not to see each other before the wedding, so we headed to the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in downtown Boston for the ceremony. Christina + Sean exchanged their wedding rings and “I do”s during a traditional Catholic nuptial mass, and we decided to stick around the Cathedral following the ceremony to get some formal photographs with the newlyweds and their wedding party.

With a smaller wedding party of three bridesmaids and three groomsmen, we had lots of extra time to go to all of their favorite Boston locations around the city. After leaving the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, we headed to the front steps of the Boston Public Library. It was a perfect summer day, so we got some great shots right in the heart of Copley Square with the blue sky and Fairmont and Hancock Tower in the background.

While the bridal party headed back to the Fairmont Copley Plaza to start cocktails, we took Christina + Sean up to Beacon Hill and the famous Acorn Street (named the “most photographed street in the United States”) for a few photos of the newlyweds. Then it was back to Copley Square for some time in the secluded courtyard behind the historic Trinity Church, and finally back into the Fairmont Copley Plaza lobby! Even after all of these great Boston wedding pictures, the bride and groom still had plenty of time to enjoy their cocktail hour before the evening reception began.

We loved the signature drink displays accented with pink rock candy swizzle sticks!

The Oval Room at the Fairmont Copley Plaza was transformed into a gorgeous wedding reception for Christina + Sean. Soft pink uplights washed the walls with bright color, and cozy lounge furniture was placed around the dance floor. Each centerpiece featured golden branches with balls of bright pink flowers, over gold and pink textured linens. When the formalities of the evening were done and it was time to party, Christina changed into a super cute short white dress and kicked off the dancing with Sean and their guests.

We love working with couples with a lot of personality — and Danielle + Chris fit the bill perfectly! Their beautiful Hyatt Regency Boston wedding was classic and beautiful, with lots of fun details to show off their bright and colorful personalities. Above everything else, the couple wanted their guests to have a fun night — and thanks to the fabulous planners at lolagraceEVENTS, everyone certainly did!

Danielle’s strapless white wedding gown was accented with a simple black belt for a fun and classic look, and paired with a bright bouquet of romantic red roses — the same flowers that would be used later at their reception. We loved her reaction when she opened her wedding day gift from her groom, two tickets to Justin Timberlake! Meanwhile, Chris and his groomsmen had a blast getting ready for the day, and even showed off some of their putting skills before getting on their suits and ties.

The bride and groom said their “I do”s at the beautiful chapel of St. Anthony’s in Revere, Ma, before heading back to the Hyatt Regency Boston for the evening reception. We loved the romantic feeling of the decor, Danielle + Chris had chosen black, white, and crimson as their inspiration colors and it really made everything pop. Their escort cards were printed with white calligraphy on black card stock, and there were lots of fun signs throughout the event with a matching swirly font. You really got a sense of this couple’s fun-loving nature just by looking at their wedding! Here’s what their event planner Rachael from lolagraceEVENTS had to say about their design and inspiration:

Danielle + Chris are a very charismatic, kind + FUN couple! They wanted their wedding to be unlike anything that anyone had experienced before. Comprising an All-Star vendor team was vital in creating the uniquely energetic + creative vibe that she wanted her guests to experience while at their wedding. The color palette was selected in advance of anything else… Danielle was set on a black + white wedding while Chris’ only request was to incorporate a splash of crimson… so Danielle was a very gracious bride and allowed her groom his one request! But given Danielle’s thoughtful nature she treated Chris with a couple of surprises throughout the evening: his very own specialty cocktail that was “crimson” colored + custom rolled cigars for each guest from The Boston Cigar Factory (paired with their very own wine that they made at The Boston Winery)! Over 2000 red roses were used to adorn the guest tables… giving off a very classic look with a creative spin on the red rose! Each piece of paper was a custom design… from the save the dates to the invitations to the signage throughout the event… their was a consistent vibe communicated to their guests and that was to HAVE FUN!  If I were to use three words to describe the style of Danielle + Chris’ wedding I would easily say: Modern. Romantic. FUN.

We loved all the details of this beautiful tented summer wedding! The happy couple decided to have a wedding at home, surrounded by their closest friends and family. The entire event was planned and catered by the talented team at The Catered Affair and tented by Peterson Party Center – including a stunning ceremony tent, a cocktail tent, and a reception tent so exquisite it could have been a ballroom! We took advantage of the perfect summer weather and got some poolside photos with the bride, groom, and their family before the day’s events began.

The afternoon ceremony was held in a pale yellow and white tent on the property. The four open walls of the tent were draped with yellow linen, and the white ballroom chairs had soft yellow cushions to match. The aisle was lined with six towering custom made topiaries in sleek silver vases, and the front altar featured three large white panels with beautiful chains of soft yellow roses. A string quartet provided elegant background music for the romantic “I do”s.

Cocktail hour was set up in a round, open-sided tent in the backyard, and extended onto their beautiful stone patio. High and low cocktail tables were decorated with fun yellow and grey patterned linens, and topped with white and green floral arrangements. A fabulous raw bar was provided by The Catered Affair team, with large ice displays of shrimp and oysters for guests to enjoy before dinner.

The first thing you could see before entering the evening’s reception tent built over the tennis court was a stunning entrance way with greenery from top to bottom, designed by Marc Hall.  Once inside, the entrance space was lined with two long white tables displaying the escort cards and topped with beautiful arrangements of green ferns and white flowers. Two long mirrors and a stunning crystal chandelier made you forget you were in a tent altogether!

The reception tent itself was exquisite – the white fabric walls and ceilings were covered in soft pink and fuchsia lighting, and a custom white monogram was projected onto the dance floor surrounded by purple light. Patterned yellow linens were mixed with modern mirror-top tables, and paired with beautiful white ballroom chairs detailed with a textured back. A few large wing-back chairs and comfy white loveseats were interspersed throughout the tent, for a fun and eclectic atmosphere. The floral centerpieces featured soft white peonies with pops of bright yellow, large green ferns, and cascading white orchids. The tall arrangements were surrounded by smaller groups of white and yellow flowers, to really fill the table with color. The ceiling of the tent was hung with gorgeous crystal chandeliers, which provided a warm and glowing atmosphere for the night’s party.

Following the reception, the celebration moved back into the ceremony tent — which had been transformed into a fun and colorful after-party. The walls of yellow linen were replaced with a clear lining, and beautiful round chandeliers were hung over lounge area for guests to relax and enjoy the night. The tent popped with bright purple textured lighting and deep pink floral arrangements.

Everyone had a fantastic evening celebrating this day with the new bride and groom, and the newlyweds could not have been happier to be surrounded by all their friends, family, and loved ones for their one-of-a-kind summer wedding! Over the past few weeks Person + Killian Photography has been busy attending as well as photographing various wedding industry events in Boston. One of which was the Millennium Bostonian Wedding Open House!! The Millennium is a fantastic New England wedding venue. It offers 3,400 sq feet of skyline views of Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the Custom Clock Tower and Old State House. It is the quintessential location for a classic city wedding in Boston!
