The month of June kicked off for Person + Killian  with the three-day Cape Cod wedding photography extravaganza of Lauren and Alex. We are so excited to share some of the photos of this beautiful celebration.

The couple describe themselves as “Total city kids that grew up going to the Cape every summer and just could not imagine getting married anywhere else. We wanted to be in our favorite location but incorporate the dramatic and glamorous aspects of an urban wedding. We decided on pearl and sea glass blues and greens for our color palate to bring in the shades of the beach without being too literal.”

We started with the wedding rehearsal dinner and welcome party at the Chatham Wayside Inn in downtown Chatham, MA. The bride and groom were joined by an intimate group of family and friends on a perfect Spring evening. After cocktail hour on the terrace everyone headed into the dining room for dinner and a few pre-wedding toasts.

The events of day two all took place at one of Cape Cod’s luxury Oceanside wedding resort – the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club.

After Lauren and her bridal party finished getting ready in the Cape Villa it was off to the waterfront for the couple’s “First Look”. Pleasant Bay provided the perfect backdrop for all of the formal photos of both the couple and their wedding party prior to the ceremony.

One of the most fun elements of the whole weekend came with the personal touches the bride and groom put into all of the little details. We love that all guests were given sunglasses on their way down to the ceremony with a sign that said “You Might Be Blinded By Our Love”!

After a picture perfect ceremony it was off to the tent for cocktail hour. While guests relaxed and enjoyed hors’ devours, they were encouraged to leave advise and well wishes for the newlyweds on Cape Cod postcards that were left in a vintage suitcase that matched the décor perfectly!

Lauren and Alex described the ceremony and cocktail hour as “bringing in the natural beauty of the Cape with blues and greens to complement the Wequassett’s décor.”

The main ballroom looked absolutely stunning and included custom-made white linens from Be Our Guest rentals and chandeliers, draping and lighting from Ormonde Productions.

Lauren described the inspiration for the reception as “Capturing the urban “wow” glamour with dramatic white on the tables and tall calla lilies in glass vases”.

As a wedding favor, guests were given hand-painted aprons by Blue Water Fish Rubbings that included one of the couple’s favorite recipes.

Day three of the weekend celebration continued when the guests traveled from Chatham down to Wellfleet to the Chequessett Yacht & Country Club for a post wedding brunch and clam bake.

The official “host” of the Clambake was the couple’s pooch Tugg (a mini-poodle mix) who took a few moments to pose with the newlyweds for a few photos during the festivities.

Congratulations Lauren and Alex. It was an absolute pleasure capturing your beautiful wedding weekend. We had a blast!

Person + Killian Photography recently had the pleasure of photographing The Charles Hotel Wedding of Thayer and Philip with Rafanelli Events. The night before the wedding, we were asked to photograph the rehearsal dinner at the Winchester Country Club. The evening was an authentic Southwest Texas BBQ (Philip and his family are from Texas) with a Mariachi band for entertainment.

The following afternoon, both the bride and groom along with their wedding parties and family all got ready at The Charles Hotel in Harvard Square, Cambridge where the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all took place.

When we asked Thayer and Philip the inspiration behind their wedding, the bride described it as “Springtime elegance with a whimsical touch set in Harvard Square, where the couple met as graduate students. The colors were a spring mix of blues accented with light greens that provided the inspiration that carried over from the invitations to the wedding party attire and into the ballroom.”

After a few getting ready photographs, we captured Thayer and Philip’s first look in the JFK Memorial Park.

We love that Philip and his groomsmen hopped up on the fountain for an impromptu group shot.

The ceremony, performed by the bride’s cousin, was a mix of the bride’s Greek heritage that included the crown ceremony along with the groom’s Jewish heritage with a Chuppah and the breaking of the glass.

Just one highlight of the day came at the end of the ceremony when all guests broke out in cheers with noisemakers, pom-poms from the bridesmaids and even Vuvuzelahorn blowing by the groomsmen. This was just the beginning of the celebration for the newlyweds.

The Charles Hotel Ballroom was designed by the team at Rafanelli Events and looked exquisite!

The rest of the celebration combined more of the couple’s family traditions with some Greek dancing and a Hora. Congratulations and huge Thank You to Thayer and Philip and your wonderful families for being so great to work with. We had a fantastic time photographing your fun-filled wedding weekend!

It’s not every day that Person + Killian Photography is asked to photograph a beach party and lobster bake on a private island. Well, this time we had the opportunity for Jaclyn and Trevor’s pre-nuptial wedding weekend bash.

The day started when we hopped on a boat at the Chatham Bars Inn on a perfect Friday morning and headed out on a 20 min boat ride to Strong Island. Upon arrival, all guests were greeted at the boathouse with refreshing Island Rum Punch.

After making our way across the island to the beach, totes were given out that had everything necessary for the perfect day including towels, sun screen, mist spray and more. For the next couple of hours, guests partied it up complete with a raw bar, water sports, boats full of iced cold beverages and even a DJ spinning from a tiki boat in the water!

From there it was off to the spa tent before heading over to the lobster bake. The remainder of the afternoon was complete with an authentic reggae band, Mojitos and even the signature “Wedded Bliss” cocktail.

Check back soon for Part II of the weekend – Jaclyn and Trevor’s wedding day
