We are always thrilled to visit the Boston Harbor Hotel, a venue famous for its elegant affairs, and we were happy to join Jacqueline and Andrew there this past weekend for their wedding. With the couple adding their own nautical twists to the occasion, their lovely and lively celebration was a day to remember.

Jacqueline was stunning from head to toe in her Haley Paige designed dress, selected from Kleinfeld’s in New York, a cathedral length veil, as well as Jimmy Choo heels.  Her bridesmaids were all in a bright ocean blue, really helping to bring out the nautical theme. Hand-picked details abounded, from the embroidery on Jaqueline’s grandfather’s handkerchief, to the elaborate chalk art illustrating their love story, and the elegant three-tier wedding cake.

Cocktail hour was held on the famed Rotunda of the hotel, with its breathtaking views of ships moving about the Harbor and the Boston city skyline.  The bride and groom welcomed their guests into the ballroom, adorned with fresh flowers and gold accents, to dance the night away — with such an upbeat crowd, it was a more than energetic reception!

Thank you to Michael Bovin and his team at the Boston Harbor Hotel for being such a pleasure to work with as always. Congratulations Jacqueline and Andrew – thank you for choosing us to document your wonderful day!

The Seaport Hotel Boston wedding of Lisa and Mike was the perfect way to start off the 2015 wedding season. We began the day with the couple while they got ready at the Seaport Hotel. We love that the bride and groom wanted to go outside for their first look on the World Trade Center bridge overlooking the Boston skyline. Lisa was joined by her bridesmaids and Mike with the groomsmen for wedding party photographs. As soon as the sun set and the lights came on we were able to spend a few more minutes with the couple before heading to the ceremony.

Their ceremony took place in the Cityside Ballroom, which was transformed for the occasion with tall pillar candles and lush white and pink floral arrangements by Dana Markos.  With stunning views of the Boston Harbor and the lively seaport district at night for everyone to enjoy, the Harborside Ballroom was the perfect place for the evening reception. Blue uplighting paired with the silver linens from Rentals Unlimited and candlelight lit up the room with a winter wonderland feel as the snow fell outside.  Following their first dance, dinner and toasts, the lively World Premier Band  got everyone on their feet dancing for the rest of the evening celebration.

It was such a pleasure to work with such a fantastic couple – and we love that they were willing to spend time outside for photographs! Thank you to the entire team at the Seaport Hotel Boston and Seaport World Trade Center. Congratulations Lisa + Mike!

Earlier this month we had the pleasure of photographing Samantha and Chris’s elegant, fun-filled summer wedding at Belle Mer on Goat Island in Newport. The glamorous, contemporary venue was the perfect setting for the couple’s exquisite and fresh oceanside celebration.

Samantha and her family got ready at Belle Mer while Chris prepared for the day at a nearby hotel with his family. Everyone traveled to Providence for the ceremony which took place at St. Augustine Church. Following the ceremony we headed to the Elms on iconic Bellevue Avenue in Newport to spend some time taking photographs of the newlyweds. The lush green grass and pink and white flowers at the national historic landmark made for a perfect back drop.

The reception and cocktail hour took place back at Belle Mer where everyone gathered to celebrate and dance to the Starlight Duo while enjoying an unbeatable view overlooking the Atlantic ocean and Newport Bridge. The room was glowing with bright colors, soft flowers and a sense of south beach chic. The couple also added a personal touches on their escort cards by including personalized pictures of all the guests and the cake topper included their beloved dog Penny.

For the reception, the couple enjoyed their grand entrance into the ballroom and shared their first dance to “Bonfire Heart” by James Blunt. Samantha, Chris and their guests enjoyed the seaside lawn, aglow with soft lanterns, fire pit and modern white lawn furniture and the music of Starlight Orchestra kept everyone on their feet throughout the evening.

We could not have been happier to be a part of this wonderful celebration. Congratulations Samantha and Chris!

It’s official — the 2014 wedding season has begun! We were so happy to kick off a year of fabulous events with this beautiful wedding at the Omni Parker House Boston.

Amanda + Jesse were inspired by the traditional vintage weddings of the 1930’s and 1940’s for their decor and color palette. Everything was both classic and glamorous, infused with colors of gold and ivory with that fun vintage flare. We absolutely loved Amanda’s vintage-inspired wedding dress, which was detailed with silver beading and sheer capped sleeves. Her chunky silver bracelet and classic white bouquet were the perfect accents to complete the look. Following the traditional church ceremony we headed to the Omni Parker House for some outdoor formal photos with the newlyweds. Amanda added a beautiful brown wrap to her dress for the outdoor photos, and Jesse matched perfectly in a classic black tux. They looked like a glamorous wedding couple straight out of the 1930’s!

For the evening wedding reception, the Omni Parker House ballroom was beautifully transformed with specially made extra-long rectangular tables and custom-cut ivory and gold pin-striped runners to match. The branch centerpieces on each of the dining tables were hung with soft gold candles, which also lined the tables themselves, to add a warm and intimate glow to the space. Gold chiavari ballroom chairs paired with ivory cushions tied everything together, and fit perfectly with the ballroom’s natural colored walls and elegant crystal chandeliers. Their classic 4-tiered white wedding cake was accented with bands of gold ribbon and topped with edible gold pearls for an elegant and glamorous touch. We loved how Amanda + Jesse combined classic elegant elements with a really fun vintage twist, it made their wedding day so beautiful and totally unique. Everything worked together so flawlessly and we could not have been happier to share this special day with such a wonderful couple!

We can’t wait to continue this 2014 season with even more fabulous, one-of-a-kind weddings, and special thanks to Amanda + Jesse for kicking it off with such a fantastic event! Congratulations!

We always love seeing what’s new and trendy each wedding season. As we kick off this new year of Boston weddings in 2014, we were happy to pay a visit to the State Room Boston where Rentals Unlimited was showcasing some of their newest items.

Rentals Unlimited put together three wedding tables for us to photograph in the State Room Boston’s stunning Great Room, 33 stories above downtown Boston. Each of the designs featured clean colors of black, white and silver and ranged from chic and modern to classic and elegant. The first table was a long, rectangular mirror-top with clear mirage chairs. A mix of black goblets and classic crystal was paired with white chargers, black and shell napkins, all accented with black candle pillers.

The second table design was a traditional round with shimmering white linen. A mix of classic crystal and opaque white goblets were paired with silver-lined chargers for a modern twist, and the black vase and white orchid centerpiece added a wonderful pop of contrast. The final combination featured a textured silver and white linen and a beautiful shimmery silver charger plate. The clean, simple colors all worked so wonderfully together and each design was unique, modern, and elegant.

Below are a few images from the day that we wanted to share for some #WeddingWednesday inspiration!

Laura and Matthew described their wedding as a “romantic winter wonderland”. Surrounded by their closest friends and family and with the help of a fantastic team of Boston wedding professionals, their beautiful Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston wedding turned out to be the perfect winter wonderland they always hoped for.

We began the afternoon with Laura and her  bridesmaids in their suite at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston while Matt and his groomsmen were prepping for the day at the bride and groom’s home nearby. Following the emotional first look we headed outside with the couple for photographs in front of the hotel in Copley Square. The wedding party and family then joined Laura and Matt both inside and outside for formals prior to the ceremony.

The evening ceremony took place in the Grand Ballroom. In keeping with the winter wonderland look,  silver and white chairs, iced white branches with small bunches of white flowers and candles of all shapes and sizes surrounded the ballroom isle and ceremony area. The nuptials concluded with the Jewish tradition of the glass breaking.

While guests enjoyed cocktail hour, the Grand Ballroom was transformed into the winter wonderland wedding reception that Laura and Matt had envisioned. White linen topped with silver runners gave the room a wintery feel, along with white floral centerpieces enhanced with faux snow and silver table numbers tied in perfectly with silver chiavari chairs. Everyone was so happy to be celebrating this perfect day with Laura and Matthew. Following their first dance, toasts and cake cutting on the balcony, the party kicked off and the dance floor was packed all night.

A special thanks to Tracey Gavin and the entire team at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston and to Laura + Matthew for sharing your special day with us. Congratulations!

One thing we love about photographing weddings is getting to share in one of the most important days of our brides and groom’s lives, and getting to experience all of the love and excitement as two people begin their new life together. What we don’t get to experience very often is sharing all of that love and excitement with a bride and groom 10 years later — and that’s exactly what we got to do at this beautiful Anniversary Celebration at the Fairmont Battery Wharf!

Erica + Scott were surrounded by their closest friends and family for this warm and intimate anniversary celebration, and all of the guests were so happy to be joining this wonderful couple 10 years after their wedding day. The Fairmont Battery Wharf was stunningly decorated for this evening reception — a mix of silver linen and mirror-top tables were covered in bright purple, pink and orange flowers from Erica’s own florist company Orchids N’ Blooms. Joe Toto of Groove Entertainment provided all of the chic white lounge furniture, and filled the room with bright up lights to add a splash of color. Soft votive candles were mixed in with all of the beautiful centerpieces, giving the flowers a fantastic bright light and filling the room with a warm glow.

This is how Erica described her vision for their special 10 year celebration:

Violet is my favorite color, so there will be hues of violet throughout the event just like at our wedding 10 years ago! The aesthetic was also extremely important to us, so a great deal of emphasis was placed on the presentation of the decor.

All of that hard work and emphasis on the decor certainly showed, and their 10 year celebration was absolutely breathtaking. We spent some time with Erica + Scott  taking some photographs around the Fairmont Battery Wharf before the couple made their grand entrance down the spiral staircase. Guests  then moved into the Constitution Ballroom to watch a photo montage of Erica + Scott’s first 10 years together!

Following dinner, it was time for dancing in the Old North Skylight Room. The space was transformed into a modern and chic lounge area, with floor to ceiling white curtains, white lounge furniture, and glowing cocktail tables.

We were so happy to share this celebration with Erica, Scott and all their friends and family. A special thanks to Tim and the team at the Fairmont Battery Wharf and Erica + Scott for including us in your beautiful 10 year anniversary party. Congratulations!

Gul and Ali traveled all the way from Istanbul, Turkey to celebrate their beautiful autumn wedding at the Hampshire House Boston. Gul’s sister lives right in the Hampshire House neighborhood on Boston’s historic Beacon Hill, and the couple and their families often make the trip from Turkey to visit. When it came time to start planning their wedding, they knew Beacon Hill was the place they wanted to be — and the Hampshire House Boston was the perfect venue for their beautiful and intimate wedding celebration!

We met up with the bride and groom at the Liberty Hotel immediately following their wedding ceremony, and took some photos as the bride got into her beautiful Vera Wang gown for formal photos and the evening reception. We spent the late afternoon with the newlyweds in the Boston Public Garden for some romantic shots in front of the beautiful Autumn foliage. Gul’s stunning gown was matched perfectly with a bouquet of white and purple calla lilies. As the sun started to set we made our way to the Hampshire House Boston for the evening wedding reception.

The Hamsphire House’s upstairs Library was beautifully decorated for an intimate wedding dinner party, starting with the customized chalkboard sign pointing guests in the right direction. A long dining table was set in the middle of the room for the 16 guests — Gul + Ali’s closest friends and family from both Boston and Turkey. Purple uplighting gave the room a beautiful wash of color, and the table was topped with long runners and a series of matching floral arrangements. Large candles also lined the center of the table, giving the room a beautiful warm glow. The light pink wedding cake featured a beautiful set of pink dusted edible flowers, and was set on a table covered in purple and white flowers to match the centerpieces and bride’s bouquet.

Gul, Ali, and their guests enjoyed a beautiful evening with each other, including heartfelt toasts, and a fun night of dancing for the whole group. We were so happy to be a part of this very special wedding on Beacon Hill, thank you to the entire team at the Hampshire House Boston and congratulations Gul + Ali!

When deciding where to have their late summer wedding, Jessica + Michael instantly knew that Cape Cod was the place they wanted to be. Their family has been vacationing on the Cape for over 50 years, traveling all the way from Texas each summer to enjoy the beautiful New England seaside! The happy couple started their classic Cape Cod wedding weekend with a traditional New England lobster bake for their rehearsal dinner Friday night.

A tent was installed in the backyard of their rented house in Chatham, MA to host their friends and family for the beautiful evening dinner. The long family-style tables were decorated in navy blue and white with lots of fun nautical details, even the bottles of water were kept in a classic rowboat filled with ice with a custom “Jessica + Michael” life preserver on the front! We loved getting to meet all of the Jessica +  Michael’s closest friends and family, and hearing all of the heartfelt toasts about this wonderful couple the night before the wedding.

We loved sharing this Cape Cod wedding weekend with Jessica + Michael — here’s what the bride and groom had to say about their beautiful Chatham Bars Inn wedding: We wanted to feel like we were throwing a casually elegant dinner party at our own home so that people can literally kick off their shoes, put on flip flops, and dance the night away. We chose a destination wedding in Cape Cod because Jessica grew up going there in the summertime. Her grandfather started the tradition when he lived in Boston, before moving to Texas and carrying on the tradition. We also decided to do a beach wedding because we both LOVE the ocean, and we wanted to limit our wedding to the people that we know will be lifelong family and friends.

The next morning the wedding celebration began — Jessica and her bridesmaids got ready for the day in their rented house, while Michael and his groomsmen spent the morning at the Chatham Bars Inn. The ladies wore beautiful eggplant purple bridesmaid dresses, and Jessica looked stunning in a lace-topped Elizabeth Fillmore wedding gown. The men looked perfectly “Cape Cod” in light grey suits paired with soft green ties and a simple calla lily boutonniere.

Rustic wooden boat signs pointed the way towards the outdoor wedding ceremony at the Chatham Bars Inn, which took place under a beautiful white arbor overlooking the ocean. The long winding staircase leading down from the Inn itself made Jessica’s big entrance especially stunning and unique! After the “I do”s, the happy newlyweds were led down the aisle and back to the Inn by a traditional Scottish bagpiper.Chatham Bars Inn Wedding Photography JM 009Chatham Bars Inn Wedding Photography JM 010Chatham Bars Inn Wedding Photography JM 011Chatham Bars Inn Wedding Photography JM 012Chatham Bars Inn Wedding Photography JM 013

While guests began cocktail hour in the Chatham Bars Inn Boat House, we took the opportunity to get some great formal wedding photos with Jessica, Michael, and their wedding party. After the formal photos, we kicked off our shoes and took just the bride and groom out to the beach for some romantic beach wedding pictures. With the beautiful blue water, grass-covered dunes, and sailboats in the background this was the perfect place for classic Cape Cod wedding photos!

The evening reception was set up  inside the Beach House Grill, with classic silver linens and ballroom chairs paired with white napkins and cushions. The floral centerpieces were a beautiful mix of white, green, and blue summer flowers, and each place setting featured a customized wedding logo with Jessica + Michael’s initials inside a silver ship’s helm. Dancing took place outside under the adjacent clear tent, which was lit with purple uplights as soon as the sun started to set.

After a night full of eating, dancing, and celebrating with their friends and family, the beaming bride and groom made their exit while guests held up sparklers and threw white dove-shaped confetti. The celebration didn’t stop there, as guests who weren’t ready to stop dancing headed to the late-night after party for even more fun!

Thank you Jessica and Michael for having us there to photograph such a special weekend for you, to the team at the Chatham Bars Inn and team at Cape Cod Celebrations for being so great to work with as always!

It’s not too late in the summer for a beautiful nautical wedding by the sea! Giuliana + Marc’s Wentworth by the Sea wedding in Newcastle, NH was fun, chic, summery, and full of adorable nautical details.

Giuliana + Marc mixed the classic nautical colors of white and navy blue with fun pops of pink to make a really unique seaside affair. The bride carried a bouquet of soft pink roses, while her bridesmaids paired navy blue dresses with hot pink heels and bright pink bouquets. Even the guys had a splash of color — both the groom and his groomsmen wore hot pink socks under their suits!

Following the ceremony, which took place at St. Rose of Lima Church in Topsfield, we grabbed some beautiful photographs outside with the newlyweds and wedding party. We took advantage of the gorgeous sunny day and nearby harbor to get some great seaside wedding photos with Giuliana + Marc before heading into the Wentworth by the Sea for the evening party.

The Ballroom was beautiful, with dark navy blue linens and classic white ballroom chairs around each table. The tables were topped with a mix of high and low floral centerpieces, which really made the room pop with mixes of bright pink and green summer flowers. Their stunning four-tiered white wedding cake was embellished with silver sparkle on each layer, and displayed on a hot pink table sprinkled with white rose petals. Guests kicked off their heels and grabbed comfy white and navy blue flip flops from the bride and groom, stored in a small wooden rowboat next to the dance floor!

We loved this really unique spin on a classic nautical summer wedding. It was a perfect seaside affair, with a little pop of personality from the bride and groom! Congratulations to Giuliana + Marc on your beautiful Wentworth by the Sea Wedding — thanks for letting us be a part of your special day!

Erin and Hayes really took advantage of this beautiful summer season at their Fairmont Copley Plaza Wedding in late July. They incorporated lots of fresh summer flowers and soft summer colors into their classic and elegant ballroom wedding.

Erin’s beautiful summer bouquet was full of white roses and peonies, and accented with subtle hints of purple and green. Her bridesmaids wore dark navy chiffon dresses and carried stunning bouquets in shades of creme, purple, and blush. The bride and groom decided not to see each other before the wedding, so we headed straight to the gorgeous chapel at St. Cecilia’s once the ladies were ready for the traditional Catholic ceremony!

We made the quick trip from St. Cecilia’s to the Boston Public Garden following the ceremony for some sunny outdoor wedding photos with Erin, Hayes, and their wedding party. The summer weather could not have been more perfect for the outdoor formals! The evening reception took place in the Fairmont Copley Plaza’s Oval Room — the gold and champagne colored walls, curtains, and crystal chandelier were matched perfectly by simple textured white linens and beautiful summer floral centerpieces. The newlyweds chose a mix of tall arrangements in elegant clear vases and smaller mixes of the same flowers. The summer flowers were white, pink, and soft blush, and the tables were paired with gold chiavari ballroom chairs matched with white cushions.

After the romantic first dance and toasts from friends and family, Erin and Hayes cut their gorgeous four-tiered white wedding cake — decorated with cascading creme-colored roses and displayed on a bright gold stand, surrounded by soft blush summer rose petals.

We could not have asked for a more beautiful summer wedding, with a perfect mix of classic elegance, traditional details, and fun summer colors. As always a big thank you to Alice Fay and her entire team at the Fairmont Copley Plaza for always being so lovely to work with! Cheers to another beautiful event, and congratulations Erin + Hayes!

We love working with couples with a lot of personality — and Danielle + Chris fit the bill perfectly! Their beautiful Hyatt Regency Boston wedding was classic and beautiful, with lots of fun details to show off their bright and colorful personalities. Above everything else, the couple wanted their guests to have a fun night — and thanks to the fabulous planners at lolagraceEVENTS, everyone certainly did!

Danielle’s strapless white wedding gown was accented with a simple black belt for a fun and classic look, and paired with a bright bouquet of romantic red roses — the same flowers that would be used later at their reception. We loved her reaction when she opened her wedding day gift from her groom, two tickets to Justin Timberlake! Meanwhile, Chris and his groomsmen had a blast getting ready for the day, and even showed off some of their putting skills before getting on their suits and ties.

The bride and groom said their “I do”s at the beautiful chapel of St. Anthony’s in Revere, Ma, before heading back to the Hyatt Regency Boston for the evening reception. We loved the romantic feeling of the decor, Danielle + Chris had chosen black, white, and crimson as their inspiration colors and it really made everything pop. Their escort cards were printed with white calligraphy on black card stock, and there were lots of fun signs throughout the event with a matching swirly font. You really got a sense of this couple’s fun-loving nature just by looking at their wedding! Here’s what their event planner Rachael from lolagraceEVENTS had to say about their design and inspiration:

Danielle + Chris are a very charismatic, kind + FUN couple! They wanted their wedding to be unlike anything that anyone had experienced before. Comprising an All-Star vendor team was vital in creating the uniquely energetic + creative vibe that she wanted her guests to experience while at their wedding. The color palette was selected in advance of anything else… Danielle was set on a black + white wedding while Chris’ only request was to incorporate a splash of crimson… so Danielle was a very gracious bride and allowed her groom his one request! But given Danielle’s thoughtful nature she treated Chris with a couple of surprises throughout the evening: his very own specialty cocktail that was “crimson” colored + custom rolled cigars for each guest from The Boston Cigar Factory (paired with their very own wine that they made at The Boston Winery)! Over 2000 red roses were used to adorn the guest tables… giving off a very classic look with a creative spin on the red rose! Each piece of paper was a custom design… from the save the dates to the invitations to the signage throughout the event… their was a consistent vibe communicated to their guests and that was to HAVE FUN!  If I were to use three words to describe the style of Danielle + Chris’ wedding I would easily say: Modern. Romantic. FUN.

Congratulations to Danielle + Chris on a perfect wedding day, and special thanks to Rachael and lolagraceEVENTS for another beautiful evening!
