Anya and Chris were married exactly one year ago to the day, and wanted to share their special anniversary with family and friends. The couple actually came to us through industry colleague (and friend of the groom’s family) Tiffany Ma, who was also the planner and coordinator for the event.

The celebration took place at the ICA Boston (Institute of Contemporary Art) in the Seaport. There was not a cloud in the sky on this gorgeous New England day, perfect for being out on the waterfront. We started the day with portraits with the family and wedding party on the back deck over the water. We also had the opportunity to photograph the couple in the Founders Gallery inside the ICA. All of the events at the ICA Boston are run by The Catered Affair, who started guests off with an outdoor cocktail hour on the plaza and inside the Common Room of the museum.

For dinner, guests moved to the theater, filled with lush floral arrangements that accentuated the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the harbor. Following dinner, guests headed downstairs to the lobby for dancing and a dessert bar from The Catered Affair. This stunning Seaport event just goes to show that, even a year after your “I do”s, you never have to stop celebrating!

Special thanks to Tiffany Ma for sending this couple our way, and to the entire team at The Catered Affair for an unforgettable evening!

If you haven’t been to Boston lately, you’ve got to check out the booming Seaport district. Right on the waterfront and home to shops, restaurants, and gorgeous venues — the Seaport is a must-visit spot! For this Fall wedding, The Exchange was the venue of choice. Out on the very tip of Boston Fish Pier, the Exchange offers waterfront views, indoor and outdoor space, and a great central Seaport location.

Although Katie and Tim both live and work in Philadelphia, they traveled back to Boston for their Seaport wedding. Both Katie and Tim work in amazingly selfless fields (she is a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, and he is a Fire Lieutenant) so their wedding was full of first responders, nurses, and all around incredible people. The entire day took place on the Seaport, starting at The Exchange for getting ready and first look. A quick trolley ride with the wedding party took us to Fan Pier for some formals both out on the water’s edge and in Fan Pier Park. A hop right across the street took us to Our Lady of Good Voyage for the wedding ceremony, where Katie and Tim said their “I do”s.

It was a beautiful Fall afternoon, so guests enjoyed cocktails on the outdoor patio of The Exchange, on the Boston Harbor. Twinkling lights, peach-pink details, and table names based on Boston’s Green Line transit system awaited guests inside The Exchange. Everyone was thrilled to be there to celebrate with Katie and Tim, and the night closed out with heartfelt speeches, laughter, and lots of dancing!

Special thank you to the bride and groom, and to Michele, Lauren and the entire East Meets West team at The Exchange!

We love when our couples have a meaningful connection to the city of Boston, and we can see that in the details of this Summer wedding. Olivia and Brian have a long history here in Boston, and made sure to include special people and places throughout their celebration. They told us it was important for them to have a “romantic, summer wedding in the city where they fell in love”.

Both the bride and groom attended Boston College, and have called Boston their home ever since graduation. They chose Trinity Chapel to hold their wedding ceremony because they used to sing in concerts there together as members of the BC University Chorale. The beautiful Boston Harbor inspired their color scheme of soft purples and blues, and lead to their perfect venue choice of the Boston Harbor Hotel.

Olivia and Brian also included patriotic touches to their wedding, starting with the large American flag in the Boston Harbor Hotel archway. For their ceremonial cake cutting, Brian’s grandmother presented her late husband’s naval sword to Olivia’s brother — LTJG Emmett Whalen. The sword, belonging to Captain William E. Wynne, CEC, USNA, was the same one his grandparent’s used at their own wedding! Governor Baker and Lt. Governor Polito were guests as the wedding as Brian was their campaign manager.

The celebration of a wedding is always bigger than just the couple. Olivia and Brian really found a connection to their family, to their history, and to the city they love in this gorgeous Summer wedding in Boston. Special thanks to the bride and groom and to Michael Boivin at the Boston Harbor Hotel for another fabulous celebration!

Sophisticated, chic, and a picture perfect location, the InterContinental Hotel Boston is the star of this week’s Boston Venue Spotlight!

At the InterContinental Boston couples can opt for lush outdoor portraits on the Rose Kennedy Greenway or a magnificent cityscape scene from Atlantic Avenue. To top it all off, directly behind the InterContinental is a lovely outdoor waterfront promenade with views of the Boston Harbor.

In addition to the amazing outdoor scenery at the InterContinental, this wedding venue has ceremony, cocktail, and reception spaces sure to make a statement. The InterContinental has over eleven rooms to choose from. Some of our personal favorites are the Rose Kennedy Ballroom and Abigail Adams Ballroom. With extraordinary Boston skyline views…

Take a look back at some of our 2015 InterContinental wedding photography featured below. We look forward to being back for more beautiful weddings in 2016!

We are so happy to finally kick off this 2013 Spring wedding season, and we can’t wait to share here on the blog in the coming weeks and months — starting with Maria and Peter’s gorgeous spring wedding at the InterContinental Hotel Boston.

Maria and Peter’s family made up their wedding party, including the bride and groom’s mini Dachshund named CoCo — who wore her own wedding gown and veil for the ceremony. The beautiful spring weather allowed us to get some great outdoor photographs so we headed right across the street to the Rose Kennedy Greenway for some family formals and pictures with the happy newlyweds, taking full advantage of the season. Before heading back inside for the reception, we spent a few minutes with Maria and Peter out back with Boston Harbor as the backdrop.

Thank you Maria and Peter and to the whole team at the InterContinental Hotel Boston for being so great to work with! We can’t wait to work with so many wonderful couples this Spring and throughout the year.

From Maria, Peter and CoCo: “Hi Jill,  I just want to say thank you. My pictures are AMAZING and you are extremely good at what you do! I just can not say enough wonderful things about the quality of pics and level of professionalism… Thank you again, Maria , Peter , & CoCo”

There’s nothing like a beautiful harbor-side wedding on a summer day. Julie and Zach celebrated their wedding at the gorgeous Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center Boston, and truly made the best of all the stunning locations this venue has to offer!

If there’s one thing this brand new bride really loves (besides her adorable husband, of course) it’s yellow! She can’t get enough, especially when paired with grey — the colors even made an appearance in our engagement shoot back in the winter (check out some photos here). Julie sported bright yellow Chuck Taylor’s under her wedding gown, contrasted her bridesmaid’s grey dresses with bright yellow bouquets, and even had some yellow umbrellas to for pictures!

We could not have asked for a better day. After the traditional signing of the Ketubah, the couple wed under a chuppah adorned with yellow floral arrangements in the Seaport Hotel’s Wintergarden Atrium. After the ceremony, the wedding party was off  to a waiting trolley to get the party started!

The reception was full of fun, laughter, and surprises — including an impromptu a cappella performance from the bride, groom, and a handful of friends. The Harborview Ballroom of The World Trade Center was decorated with yellow centerpieces on grey linens, all set against the view of the beautiful harbor outside. If you couldn’t tell by their comfy choice in shoes, this was one couple that definitely planned on dancing the night away — and they certainly didn’t disappoint!

We had an absolute blast photographing this wedding!
