It was a beautiful weekend on the coast of Maine for the destination wedding of Katie and Renzo. The entire wedding took place at the Cliff House in Cape Neddick, ME — positioned right along the stunning rocky waterfront.

The wedding day began with Katie and Renzo both getting ready at the Cliff House, each with a private balcony overlooking the waterfront that gave them a wonderful preview of the day to come. We brought the bride and groom outside to the water’s edge for their first look, and even climbed down onto the rocky cliffs for some spectacular formal photos with the couple. The wedding party soon joined us on the rocks for some group shots that were truly unique to the Maine coastline, then it was back up to the Cliff House to get ready for the ceremony.

Katie and Renzo became husband and wife on the Cliff House’s garden terrace, which provided panoramic views of the ocean below. Following the “I do”s, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were enjoyed around an outdoor fire pit as the sun slowly began to set behind the Cliff House. The evening reception was held inside the Cliff House’s Atlantic Ballroom, whose wall-to-wall windows showcased the ocean and coastline outside. Golden orbs of light hung from the ballrooms’ vaulted wooden ceiling, with golden linens, chairs, and warm candlelight on the tables below.

This Cliff House Maine wedding was the perfect reflection of the day’s events — traditional and gorgeous, but with a relaxed and easy-going vibe. The Maine coastline and sweeping blue ocean made for a perfect backdrop to the day’s events, and we were so glad to be a part of it. Special thanks to event planner Eric Czerlonka, Marc Hall Design, and the entire team at the Cliff House for a truly spectacular wedding day!

Congratulations Katie + Renzo and thank you for choosing Person + Killian Photography to document this beautiful day!

It’s official — the first summer weekend has come! We spent this sunny summer day at a beautiful destination wedding in Vermont with bride and groom Lacey and CJ. The summer celebration took place at the Mountain Top Inn & Resort in the rolling hills just outside of Woodstock in Chittenden, VT. The Mountain Top Inn sits on 350 private acres of woods and meadow, with spectacular views of the Green Mountains all around.

The couple began the day getting ready on the Mountain Top Inn grounds — Lacey and her bridesmaids were in the Jewel House overlooking the Inn, while CJ and his groomsmen were tucked away in another house on the property. The couple got their first look at each other right outside of the Jewel House, with a fantastic vista of the meadows and mountains on the horizon. The bride and groom were soon joined by their bridal party for formal photos out on the grounds, each groomsmen wore a coral pink necktie that perfectly matched with the bridesmaid’s pink summer dresses.

The wedding ceremony took place on the Knoll, which overlooked the mountains and the Inn’s sparkling lake below. The ceremony was officiated by Lacey’s twin brother along with a close family friend, which made for a special and very personal ceremony. Guests enjoyed a poolside cocktail hour after the “I do”s, before moving inside the Barn for dinner and dancing. The couple chose a color palette of coral pink and gray, inspired by the natural Vermont landscape. The rustic chic wedding reception made perfect use of the Barn’s wooden interior — pairing rustic wooden tables and chairs with elegant pops of white and pink summer flowers on each tabletop. Along with their classic 4-tiered wedding cake, Lacey surprised her new husband with a Boston Bruins groom’s cake (he is a die-hard Bruins fan).

We were so happy to share this weekend with the happy couple, and be there to capture their beautiful destination wedding in Vermont. Special thanks to Edna Dratch-Parker and Kasie Blanchette from EFD Creative, and to Lacey & CJ for letting us be a part of your special day!

This destination Wheatleigh hotel wedding weekend in Lenox, MA was a beautiful and intimate celebration full of love, laughter, family, and good friends. A gorgeous spring weekend beautifully transformed by event planner Tyger Productions, stunning venue, and happy couple all made for the perfect wedding celebration for couple Chessy + Joe.

The celebration started on Friday afternoon, with a welcome garden party out on the Wheatleigh’s beautiful grounds. Friday evening turned into a midsummer jazz BBQ, where everyone could mix and mingle in preparation for Saturday’s big events!

The wedding day itself began in the bridal suite, where Chessy and her bridal party were primped and pampered for the wedding celebration. Once Joe and his groomsmen were also dressed up for the occasion, the two met at the beautiful altar outside on the terrace. The couple said “I do” in front of friends and family, against the gorgeous backdrop of spring greenery and hundreds of handmade feather white butterflies.

Guests stayed outside to enjoy the spring sunshine for cocktail hour on the lawn, while we took the newlyweds around the beautiful Wheatleigh grounds for some photos. Dinner took place inside the hotel, which was beautifully transformed by event planner Tyger Productions. White linens, soft pink floral centerpieces, elegant candelabras, and gold accents made for a stunning and intimate reception space to celebrate Chessy and Joe. Guests enjoyed touching wedding toasts from friends and family, dinner, drinks, and a night full of dancing along with the happy newlyweds. This Wheatleigh hotel wedding was the perfect celebration of love and happiness for a truly wonderful bride and groom!

We love having the chance to get outside of Boston and celebrate weddings in beautiful locations all across the country! This destination wedding at the New York Athletic Club took us to the bustling streets of New York City, to celebrate the union of NYC-local couple Maria and Greg.

Believe it or not, we’ve met Maria and Greg before! We were lucky enough to photograph Greg’s sister Juliette’s wedding to her husband Noah at the Ritz Carlton, Boston on New Years Eve 2014/15. We were thrilled to be back with this couple to celebrate their own wedding, which took place at the gorgeous New York Athletic Club overlooking Manhattan’s Central Park.

The bride and groom started the day getting ready with their wedding party at the NYAC — Maria and her bridesmaids were in a balcony room overlooking the park, while Greg and his groomsmen spent the morning in the Club’s billiard hall. The wedding ceremony took place at the Church of St Ignatius Loyola in Manhattan. Maria and Greg said their I Do’s, and we were able to get tke formal photographs with the couple and their wedding party before heading back to the NYAC for the evening.

The formal black-tie wedding reception took place on the 9th floor of the New York Athletic Club, beautifully overlooking Central Park below. The space was accented with gorgeous green centerpieces, shimmering linens and gold chiavari ballroom chairs. Maria and Greg wanted their special day to reflect the “glamour of old Hollywood, coupled with the flair of spring in New York City”. Guests ate, drank, danced, and toasted to the health and happiness of the newlyweds — a perfect end to this celebration at the New York Athletic Club.

We were so thankful to be a part of this gorgeous event, and to get the chance to travel to New York City to celebrate the happy couple. Thank you to Maria and Greg for letting us be a part of this special day!

It’s officially wedding planning season and with that comes new issues of all of our favorite magazines on newsstands. We are excited to see the real wedding of Ashley and Brian in the latest issue of Boston Weddings Magazine.

Story by: Jule Suratt – “When the bride-to-be Ashley Swafford was searching for a photographer to capture her wedding to fiancé Brian Petruzzelli, she had just one request: a portrait in the middle of Boylston Street. “If you can make that happen,” she told shutterbug Jill Person, “you’re my girl.”

Ashley had always felt a strong connection to New England, but living in Las Vegas, it was hard to find someone who shared her affinity for the region. So when she met Brian at a mutual friend’s party, she instantly connected with the Dedham native. “He had that Boston swagger about him,” she says. “He was a tough guy with a soft side.”

A year and a half after they started dating, Ashley, who travels frequently for work, was grounded by a massive snowstorm in Springfield, Missouri. She eventually got back to Las Vegas – 12 hours later. Brian met her at the airport holding flowers. “I used to joke that the airport was the only place I could see her, that had to catch her either coming or going,” he says. So he did, getting down on one knee and proposing before a crowd. “I said yes.” says Ashley, “once I caught my breath. It was magical.”

Thank you to Boston Weddings for featuring this beautiful wedding and to Eric Czerlonka and his team at Czerlonka Event Design & Management for sending this lovely couple our way.

Thank you to this A-team for creating the wedding of Ashley and Brian’s dreams that we were able to capture:

Earlier this month, we headed to the picturesque Dominican Republic for the destination wedding of Kate and Brian. The stunningly gorgeous Excellence Punta Cana resort, with its miles of sandy beaches and crystal waves, was the perfect backdrop for the Boston-based newlywed’s “I Dos”.

Following the first look on their balcony, we headed outside to the beach for photos with the bride, groom and their wedding party. Seventy-five of their closest friends and family joined the couple for their beautiful seaside ceremony and reception right on the beach. Everyone celebrated the perfect evening ocean-side for an evening of dinner and dancing and we are so happy to have been there to capture it all.

Congratulations again to Kate and Brian and thank you for choosing us to capture your beautiful wedding day!

Rachel and Mark were looking for a rustic venue for their wedding that was out of the city and chose picturesque Stonewall Farm in Keene, New Hampshire. The town made for a perfect get away weekend for the couple and their guests.

The venue, an actual working organic farm in Southern New Hampshire, was incredibly scenic and did not call for too much embellishment. Instead, the bride and groom supplied DIY touches, that included the escort cards, favors and signs throughout the sprawling property.  Tones of violet and slate enhanced the rustic setting while keeping the proceedings fun and vibrant.

Following dinner we had the chance to spend a few minutes outside for some night photos with the couple. The post and beam barn, illuminated with a warm glow from within that provided the perfect backdrop.

Congratulations Rachel and Mark and thank you for being so wonderful to capture on your beautiful wedding day!

Boston has always been a special place for Shannon & Terry. Their very first date was at a Red Sox game, and when it came time to propose Terry popped the question on Swan Pond in the Boston Public Garden!  So it only made sense that they would have a destination wedding in Boston to celebrate their love for each other, and for this wonderful city.

We joined Shannon before the wedding as she got ready at The Harvard Club of Boston, before heading out to St. William’s Church in Tewksbury, MA for the ceremony. Shannon’s bridesmaids wore dark navy blue dresses with bright pink heels for a fun pop of color. Even Shannon herself switched between 3 different shoe styles throughout the day — two sparkly pink pairs of Kate Spades and a hot pink pair of boots for outdoor shots! After the ceremony we braved the cold and returned to Boston to get some photos in the Boston Public Garden, then headed back to the Harvard Club to start the party.

The wedding reception was a beautiful winter wonderland theme, with lots of white and silver accents throughout the decor — perfect for this time of year. Most of the wedding guests had traveled from out of town to celebrate this destination wedding in Boston with Shannon & Terry, and it was a perfect ending to a real Boston love story!

Congratulations Shannon & Terry, thank you for letting us be a part of your beautiful wedding celebration!

When booking their wedding venue Lindsey & Robby knew the Bedford Village Inn was the perfect location for the rustic elegant vintage wedding they had always envisioned.

The couple wanted a natural, soft, vintage-feel to their wedding and the charming Bedford Village Inn fit the bill. The beautifully landscaped 10-acre farm estate in Bedford, New Hampshire is sophisticated and elegant. It was the perfect venue to host a rustic wedding.

Lindsey wore a spectacular Amy Michaelson gown. The look and inspiration of the gown was “ vintage 1940’s”. The ivory, satin, sleek wedding gown with a low back was absolutely perfect for Lindsey.

Congratulations to this adorable couple and thank you for choosing Person + Killian Photography to document your wedding day!

Jamie and Mitch decided upon a “destination wedding” in Boston Ma. The couple wanted to return to the city in which they met while attending college at Northeastern University. They wanted their wedding to reflect the strong sense of family they each value and for everyone to “love Boston as much as they do!”

The day started out with getting ready photographs at the Ames Hotel. Jamie refused to let the rain and fog ruin her day! She was happy, relaxed and excited to get married. She wore a beautiful Vera Wang wedding gown and amazing yellow Christian Louboutin patent leather heals. Her bridesmaids wore gray gowns paired with yellow and white flowers, which were a prefect accent to her color scheme and inspiration of steel gray, yellow and white. This was all based around the fact that Jamie “LOVES” the color yellow!

The couple chose the charming and historic Old North Church in Boston’s North End for their wedding ceremony. The church is the oldest standing in Boston and its bells are the oldest in any American church.

After Jamie let us take formal pictures of her in the rain (Thank you!), we then headed over to one of Boston’s most scenic wedding venues, The State Room. The reception was held in the Harborside Room and was a perfect way for all of their out of town guests to see panoramic views of the entire city!

The night was certainly filled with lots of love, laughs and dancing! One of our favorite moments was when Mitch surprised Jamie and sang the song “When Stars Go Blue”. What a beautiful moment and we were thrilled to be there to capture it all! Congratulations to such a fantastic couple. It was a pleasure working with you and we cannot thank you enough for trusting Person + Killian Photography to capture this day!

Boston based couple, Rachel + Sean wanted a destination beach wedding and were elated when Sean’s uncle offered his beautiful seaside home in Darien, CT for the occasion. Rachel described their wedding as preppy, nautical and Nantucket inspired.

We had a blast capturing all of the fun events and details of the day including hand made signs that were placed throughout the property. Below are just some of our favorite images that we couldn’t wait to share.

The couple created “RRS Designs” for their wedding with DIY homemade letter press boxes and save-the-dates along with sailboat ornaments that went out to all their guests.

Rachel and Sean met and fell in love when they were both living in Washington D.C. So, when Sean found the ties with the capital building he knew they were the perfect fit for the wedding day.

After the first look, we took advantage of the beautiful property, taking photos on the beach, rolling hills and gardens with the bride, groom and their wedding party.

Rachel and Sean’s lemonade stand sign was one of our favorites and was accented by a buoy the couple had found for an extra pop of color.

The cocktail style reception took place on the patios of the home overlooking the infinity pool, lush floral gardens and ocean.

The couple loves maps and incorporated a map of Darien in both their save-the-dates and their sign in board.

Person + Killian Photography recently photographed the Rhode Island Wedding of Alice and Brian. Both the ceremony and reception took place at the couple’s home with the ceremony in their beautiful garden full of wildflowers and hydrangea covered chuppah.

We had a great time capturing the event that the bride and groom described as their “elegant summer cocktail celebration”. Below are just a handful of our favorite images from their wedding day.

Following the ceremony it was off to the tent for the cocktail hour and evening reception.

Congratulations to the newlyweds and thank you for reaching out to us to photograph your beautiful celebration.
