If you haven’t been to Boston lately, you’ve got to check out the booming Seaport district. Right on the waterfront and home to shops, restaurants, and gorgeous venues — the Seaport is a must-visit spot! For this Fall wedding, The Exchange was the venue of choice. Out on the very tip of Boston Fish Pier, the Exchange offers waterfront views, indoor and outdoor space, and a great central Seaport location.

Although Katie and Tim both live and work in Philadelphia, they traveled back to Boston for their Seaport wedding. Both Katie and Tim work in amazingly selfless fields (she is a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, and he is a Fire Lieutenant) so their wedding was full of first responders, nurses, and all around incredible people. The entire day took place on the Seaport, starting at The Exchange for getting ready and first look. A quick trolley ride with the wedding party took us to Fan Pier for some formals both out on the water’s edge and in Fan Pier Park. A hop right across the street took us to Our Lady of Good Voyage for the wedding ceremony, where Katie and Tim said their “I do”s.

It was a beautiful Fall afternoon, so guests enjoyed cocktails on the outdoor patio of The Exchange, on the Boston Harbor. Twinkling lights, peach-pink details, and table names based on Boston’s Green Line transit system awaited guests inside The Exchange. Everyone was thrilled to be there to celebrate with Katie and Tim, and the night closed out with heartfelt speeches, laughter, and lots of dancing!

Special thank you to the bride and groom, and to Michele, Lauren and the entire East Meets West team at The Exchange!

Bethany described the feel of her New England fall wedding as “ Woodsy Elegant”. The couple chose 11/11/11 as their wedding date and wanted to keep fall in mind without the traditional expected “fall wedding look”. So they brought in browns, greens and the grooms love for the outdoors.

Bethany works in the wedding and event industry for Chad Michael Peters so, of course every detail was perfectly planned. The cake was beautifully simple with a vine throughout  & an actual tree trunk stand. The element of green was brought in, as it is both the bride and grooms favorite color. The bride chose brown bridesmaids dresses with one shoulder, a pleated bodice & beaded ruffle trim. The girls looked lovely and were a perfect compliment to the groomsmen in their grey suits. Since green and brown flowers are not the “easiest to come by ” they chose to incorporate purple into their bouquets. The table linens were done in a willow pintuck and the sweetheart and cake tables in a willow Abigail to add “a little something extra”. The napkins they chose were a Bengaline Pecan Shell to bring in the brown tones. The big surprise for Scott was his groom’s cake that was hunting themed.

Of course no wedding would be complete with out a candy bar! Bethany describes it perfectly.. “We both love candy, but who doesn’t? So, we had to do a candy bar with all purple, green and brown candy along with custom bags for guests to take home with them.”

Congratulations to Bethany and Scott and thank you for trusting Person + Killian Photography to document this day!

This New England Fall wedding was described by the bride as Woodsy Elegant. The couple incorporated a lot of DYI into their details. The wedding reception was located in New Bedford, Ma. Marianna & Robert wanted their Hyatt Harborside Hotel Wedding to feel “elegant, simple, modern & refined”. The couple chose to have an intimate fall wedding in Boston. Marianna likes colors that are “ natural and calm”. So having a wedding in October allowed for them to incorporate the beautiful colors of fall into their color palate. Marianna’s one request was to have lots of “fall leaves in the pictures”. Luckily there was park in the North End that was filled with fall foliage and leaves. Paired against the brick it made for the perfect backdrop. We love all the seasonal touches of color the couple incorporated into their bouquets, centerpieces, favors, cake and lighting. Congratulations to this beautiful couple and thank you for trusting Person + Killian Photography to document this important day!

We were thrilled when Boston couple Karen and Doug inquired about photography for their destination wedding in Woodstock, Vermont. It is not often that we have the opportunity to travel during the busy fall season. We happened to have this particular November weekend available and were very much looking forward to it.

The wedding reception took place at the quaint Woodstock Inn & Resort. Prior to the ceremony in one of the towns’ historic churches, we stopped at a nearby covered bridge for some formal photographs. This made for the perfect setting for wedding party and family photos.

Below are a few of our favorite photographs from the day. Congratulations Karen + Doug and thank you for thinking of Person + Killian Photography for your wedding day!

Ryan & Chris hired some of Boston’s best wedding vendors to put together a beautiful elegant wedding that had a classic & romantic feel. Taj Boston was the perfect venue to host this intimate affair and Person + Killian Photography was delighted to be there!

When we asked Ryan to described the details of her day she said the following:

Chris and I are going for a classical romantic elegant look and feel to our wedding day. The bridesmaids will be in black, short dresses and the groomsmen in tuxes. Our flowers will be shades of white. Since most of our guests will be traveling to Boston from out of town, we have incorporated the old Bostonian look and feel throughout the weekend. Starting with the rehearsal dinner in the Library Room of the Hampshire House, carrying through to the cocktail hour where we will be having freshly shucked local oysters. We are taking out many of the traditional elements of a wedding and making it more of a party for all!

Some of the traditions they changed up a bit were really cute! Her father introduced the couple for the first time and the bride and groom introduced the entire wedding party! Also, Ryan’s last minute something blue was her bridesmaid’s all initialing the bottom of her Jimmy Choo in blue marker!

A big thank to Ryan and Chris for choosing Person + Killian Photography to document this beautiful Boston Wedding!

One of our favorite things about photographing Boston weddings is having the chance to work alongside so many wonderful colleagues.  For Jessica and Rob’s State Room Boston wedding, this was no exception.

The day started at the Omni Parker House where Jessica and her bridesmaids got ready followed by the couple’s first look. Capturing the day on video along side us were the talented ladies of AfterImage Productions. The elegant fall look that the bride wanted came together when the bouquets were hand delivered by the talented Marc Hall of Winston Flowers.

After some formal photographs in the Boston Public Garden, it was off to the State Room for the ceremony and reception. Both the Harborside Room and the Great Room were elegantly decorated with the perfect fall décor that wowed the guests as they arrived.

Below are just a handful of our favorite images from the day. Congratulations Jessica and Rob and thank you for including Person + Killian Photography as part of your wedding day dream team!

When Randi, Roger and Randi’s amazing parents (Rhonda and Stanley) stepped foot in the Person + Killian Photography studio a few months back, we all clicked instantly! In the hour or so that we all chatted, there were lots of laughs and smiles as the newly engaged couple chatted about their upcoming Omni Parker House wedding.

Randi and Roger first saw our wedding display in the Tremont Street window of the Omni Parker House. The moment that they toured the historic hotel, they knew it would be the perfect location for their October Boston wedding.

All of the events of the day took place throughout the hotel including a few photos of the newlyweds out on ballroom roof deck followed by their Jewish wedding ceremony in the Alcott ballroom.

The reception took place in the beautiful Press Room where the couple and their guests (most who came from out of town) danced throughout the night. This was such an amazing and kind group of people (We were even invited to come out to visit with multiple family members if we are ever up for a trip to San Diego, California).

Thank you Randi and Roger along with your wonderful group of family and friends for making your wedding day such a pleasant and memorable experience for us to capture. It was an absolute pleasure! Also, a special Thank you to Maggie and Elaine of the Omni who sent this great couple our way!

Person + Killian Photography recently got a mini-tour of some of Boston’s finest locales for the wedding of Katherine and Ronnie. Katherine works for The Best of Boston, LTD., so she already knew what she was looking for in her wedding photographers and locations.

The day began at The Ames Hotel, where the bridal party got ready. This is a fairly new hotel, so we were excited to have an opportunity to shoot in a new venue. Not only is it full of natural light, but it also offers a great view of downtown Boston!

Before the ceremony, we made two stops to get some pictures. The first, for formals, was at the always-beautiful Boston Public Garden. The second stop, per Ronnie’s request, was at the Boston Harbor Hotel for a quick photo under the arch.

From there, we headed to the ceremony site – the Old North Church in Boston’s historic North End. Situated right on the Freedom Trail, the church provided us a great location to capture some beautiful images.

One of our favorite shots of the day was this photo of little Annie, the adorable flower girl.

Following the ceremony, the celebration moved to the Hampshire House on Beacon St. The Library (just one of the rooms Hampshire House has to offer) boasts floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and a gorgeous marble fireplace, which help create a cozy, intimate atmosphere for dining.

All in all, it was a perfect day. We had the joy of photographing a wonderful couple, as well as visiting some of Boston’s best venues. We also always enjoy doing events at the Hampshire House. Thank you to Michelle Reid and her team. As always, they were so great to work with!

Congratulations, Katherine and Ronnie!

Recently, Person + Killian Photography was contacted via email from a groom to be in Sydney, Australia. Peter and his fiancé Tereza had been together for 8 years and wanted to have an intimate elopement. The couple decided on Boston as their destination wedding location of choice and reached out to P+K to capture their special day.

After getting ready at Taj Boston, the couple and a dear friend (who came in from Colorado) headed to meet their officiant in the Boston Public Garden where the ceremony took place.  After their emotional nuptials, we spent some time in the gardens and took advantage of the beautiful fall weather, turning autumn leaves and classic Boston scenery.

We want to thank Peter and Tereza for allowing us to provide them with images from their momentous trip to Boston!

Person + Killian always love an opportunity to photograph at The Liberty Hotel in Boston. Recently, we had the chance to once again take advange of this great setting for Rachel and Mason’s wedding.

Rachel’s bridesmaids wore spiced wine dresses while Mason, his groomsmen and groomswoman had matching ties and purple Chucks to accent their charcoal suits. In keeping with the fall color scheme, the couple had burnt orange linens, and fall inspired apothecary jars for centerpieces for their reception.

All of the vendors for this event were coordinated by Janie Haas Events. Thank you Janie for sending this wonderful couple our way. Rachel and Mason were great to work with, and we really had a blast capturing their special day!

Person + Killian Photography recently had another great wedding at the Chatham Bars Inn on Cape Cod. This time, we were there for Laura and Bob’s beautiful seaside affair!

We kicked off the big day at the Inn, where the bridal party got ready. Laura wore her long hair down, and enlisted stylist Amy Hudson to create soft, flowing waves. Makeup artist Rebecca Hickey used a light, neutral color palette to give the bride an elegant, yet natural look.

Once the bride had donned her gorgeous Amsale gown, it was time to head to the South Lawn for the beachside ceremony. Along with her beautiful white and ivory bouquet by Lilacs, Laura carried an heirloom lace handkerchief, which had been in the family for more than 100 years!

Following the ceremony, the festivities moved to the Boat House for cocktails, and ultimately, to the Beach House for dinner and dancing. The pale green, ivory, and white color scheme was present throughout the day, and afforded the entire event a beautifully organic, yet distinctly ‘Cape Cod’, feeling.

A big thank you to Cape Cod wedding Planner Allison Liset, for once again being such a pleasure to work with! Congratulations Laura and Bob, and thank you for trusting Person + Killian Photography to capture your special day!
