Alyssa and Ryan chose the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Boston to celebrate their wedding day this January. We started off the afternoon with Alyssa and her bridesmaids who got ready at the hotel while Ryan and his groomsmen walked over to The Art of Shaving on Newbury Street for old fashioned shaves. The bride and groom opted for their first look on the grand staircase. A little cold was not going to stop the couple from heading over to the Commonwealth Avenue Mall for a few photographs before meeting up with the wedding party for formal photos around the hotel. We love that the Mandarin has so many great locations for photos and were able to utilize several of these spaces with the couple prior to their ceremony.

Before walking down the isle, the couple signed the Ketubah alongside immediate family and wedding party. Following the traditional Jewish ceremony that took place in the ballroom, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed cocktail hour while the room was transformed. Alyssa and Ryan wanted their wedding to reflect the look and style of the venue with a wintery feel. Navy, silver, gold and ivory colors were used throughout the various decor along with candle light and white centerpieces.

Before the couple could even be introduced, Beantown had all of the guests up on their feet dancing. Following the first dance, hora and toasts, the band got everyone back up dancing for the rest of the evening celebration. A big congratulations to Alyssa and Ryan and thank you for being so much fun to work with on your beautiful wedding day and to the amazing team at the Mandarin for always being so fantastic to work with!

When it came time to select the perfect place for their Boston Wedding, Jamie and Eric chose The Mandarin Oriental Hotel. This classic elegance meets traditional celebration took place this Fall at the Back Bay venue.

The bride got ready in the Beijing Room at the Mandarin with her family and bridesmaids. From there, they all headed outside to make the most of the natural light for formals and Jamie and Eric’s first look. The lavender and ivory bouquets were a perfect compliment to the deep purple bridesmaids dresses and the bride’s stunning Monique Lhuillier strapless wedding gown.

Prior to the ceremony, Jamie, Eric and their close family and friends joined in the traditional signing of the Ketubah before walking down the isle.  The couple’s traditional Jewish ceremony took place in the ballroom of the Mandarin with a perfect blend of oriental luxury and Bostonian style. All eyes were on the couple as they stood beneath the floral chuppah accented with warm lighting.  Following the ceremony guests headed to the foyer for cocktail hour while the space was transformed.

The ballroom was lit perfectly with white candles and pink and purple lighting that accentuated the decor. Following the first dance and lively hora, Jamie and Eric along with their guests, enjoyed dancing to the sounds of the Eye To Eye Band. A big thank you to the entire team at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Boston and Congratulations Jamie and Eric!

Daniel and Jane held their intimate ballroom wedding at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Boston. This winter affair was filled with their closest friends and family, and Person + Killian Photography was delighted to be there.

The couple chose the colors black, green and white to be incorporated throughout the wedding. This beautiful color scheme was scattered among their bouquets, arrangements, décor, details and modern candy bar.

A big thank you to Dan, Jane and the entire Mandarin Oriental staff for being so lovely to work with.

While Beantown is littered with luxury hotels, Marsha Epstein, 29, a business analyst, and fiancé Brian Woldow, 32, a lawyer, put their mid-June wedding deposit down on the not-yet-opened Mandarin Oriental on Boston’s illustrious Boylston Street. “It is one of our favorite line of hotels, is known for its exceptional service, and everything would be practically brand new for our wedding,’ noted Marsha.” “We also love the modern- Asian inspired decor in the Mandarin hotels.”

The two planned their modern aesthetic around a white, crème, pale yellow and pale pink palate, starting with the floor-length tulle Badgley Mischka bridesmaids dresses in buttercup hue. For Marsha, all plans for a strapless wedding gown went out the window when she laid eyes on a stunning white lace gown with halter straps, a sweet- heart neckline, and ribbon detailing by Monique Lhuillier. “I had tried on many gowns and when I tried on this gown showed it to my parents, we all knew it was ‘the one.'” she says. Her equally chic groom donned a black tuxedo by Calvin Klein with a black vest and white paisley tie.

As they were welcomed into the ballroom, guests marveled at the white hydrangeas, light pink peonies and pink roses highlighted by pink spot lighting and contrasting overall amber hue produced by specially staged up-lighting. The menu of seared filet mignon, crispy Anna potatoes and red wine sauce, or vanilla-scented Chilean sea bass with braised tomato and baby fennel, Yukon potato puree and lobster roe butter pleased even the most discerning palate. A martini bar added a classic element and kept spirits high as the dance floor rocked to the highly-touted band, Beantown. In lieu of wedding favors, a donation was made to the Robert J. Woldow Memorial Scholarship fund created in memory of the groom’s father. The couple looks back on the day fondly, reflecting, “I do not think there [is] one specific memory, but I think Brian and I were in awe of how everything came together perfectly.”

A big thank you to Beantown Bride for featuring our work and telling the story of Marsha and Brians beautiful beantown wedding!

Person + Killian Photography had a fantastic time being the exclusive wedding photographers at Jen and Tom’s Boston Wedding! Jen, who wore a dazzling dress by Lazaro from Kleinfeld, was truly stunning! Below is a sneak peek at a few special moments from their beautiful wedding day at the Mandarin Oriental.

Jen, an interior designer, enhanced the modern ambience of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel by mixing romantic deep blue, black and white hues to her reception. The décor, which included a sleek, black dance floor and white Lanterns were amazing! The whole evening was classic and modern, we loved how the bridesmaid’s pink bouquets added a pop of color to the whole event! Florist Gerry St. Jean created beautiful floral arrangements that were charming accent pieces to the fabulous linens and décor from Rentals Unlimited.

A big thank you to Tom + Jen for including P+K in your fabulous day. We are so glad we could be a part of it! As always it was such a pleasure working with everyone at the Mandarin Oriental Boston.

Boston Wedding Photography: Boston Harbor Hotel Wedding | Mandarin Oriental Boston Wedding

Last weekend commenced the 2009 wedding season and Person+Killian were thrilled to work at two of Boston’s top wedding venues, the Mandarin Oriental Boston and the Boston Harbor Hotel!

Incredibly the The Boston Harbor Hotel, with its imposing architecture and sweeping views, executes intimate and glamorous weddings. Lauren Killian was able to capture many, special moments throughout the day of this stunning bride + her very obviously smitten new husband. We especially loved their white tiered wedding cake, which was absolutely dripping with beautiful red roses and surrounded by a sea of rose petals. So romantic!

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, legendary the world over for their service and attention to detail, never fails to be an amazing setting for any event, especially a wedding. The hotel’s collection of intriguing art work and décor lent themselves perfectly to this lovely spring wedding. Jill Person, always discrete, captured many private moments between new husband+wife, below are three of our favorite images.
