There are a few sure-fire ways to know when Spring has sprung in Boston — and one of our favorites is when we see the tulips come back to the Boston Public Garden. We loved how the bride and groom gave their spring wedding an updated and elegant feel, by using a beautiful variety of white and green florals throughout their celebration.

Ali and her bridesmaids got ready in the gorgeous Four Seasons Boston Presidential Suite before heading across the street for the first look at the Boston Public Garden with Tony. With the cherry trees just starting to blossom and the spring tulips on full display, it was the perfect backdrop for photos with the whole wedding party.

The spring flowers made another appearance in the wedding ceremony in the Four Seasons Boston Governor’s room. Ali and Tony said their “I dos” under a gorgeous floral wedding arch — a trend we’ve been seeing (and love) in ceremony decor. Moving into the Four Seasons Ballroom for the reception gave a gorgeous mix of classic white linens, chairs, and candles with an array of white and green spring flowers on every table. Guests were ready to celebrate, and music from the Sultans of Swing kept everyone on the dance floor from the second they walked in the door.

Special thanks to Lindsay Otis and her team at the Four Seasons for sending this wonderful couple our way, and especially to Ali and Tony for letting us be a part of your gorgeous spring wedding!

Ringing in the New Year is cause for celebration, and for taking a look back at another fantastic year of events. It always amazes us to see how much can happen in a year!

As 2017 comes to an end, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on this memorable year. 2017 brought with it many Boston weddings, mitzvahs and everything from charity galas to surprise parties. We traveled near and far this year throughout New England from the cliffs of Maine to the mountains of Vermont and to destination weddings in New York City and sunny Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Of course we are honored to have frequented our hometown throughout the year at greater Boston’s most prestigious and beautiful hotels, libraries and museums. We also had the pleasure of photographing some of the newest wedding and social venues from the historic JFK Presidential Library and Museum to the city’s newest upscale VIP nightlife destination – The Grand in Boston’s Seaport district.

As we look back on this year, we can say that we have had the chance to work with the most amazing couples and talented industry friends. You are all truly what makes what we do so special, memorable and what continues to make us love what we do! With sincere appreciation, gratitude and with a grateful hearts we say Thank You all for sharing your lives with us!

Wishing you all a Happy New Year full of good health, happiness and success in 2018!

All our best, Lauren and Jill

For a summer wedding in Boston there’s no better place to be than out on the beautiful Boston Harbor. Nicki and Steve’s summer Boston Harbor Hotel wedding was the perfect celebration for this wonderful couple, and a reunion of Person + Killian with a fantastic family — we photographed Nicki’s sister’s wedding nine years ago!

The entire wedding day took place right at the Boston Harbor Hotel, with the bride and groom both getting ready in their rooms overlooking the harbor. It was a warm and sunny day, so we took Nicki and Steve out to the waterfront for their first look. We stayed outside the Hotel for formal photos with the couple along the harbor, and of course underneath the classic Boston Harbor Hotel archway! We were then joined by the bridal party, and took some group photos with bridesmaids and groomsmen across the street on the greenway.

The couple said their “I do”s in a short and sweet ceremony in the Boston Harbor Hotel’s Wharf Room, after which everyone moved out to the waterfront for cocktails and hors d’ouevres. During cocktail hour the Wharf Room was transformed into a beautiful and romantic reception space. A mix of round linen tables and mirror-topped banquet tables surrounded the white dance floor, with soft colors of pink, coral, and gold in the floral arrangements and accents. Nicki and Steve danced the night away surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones for the perfect end to a beautiful summer Boston Harbor Hotel wedding.

Special thanks to the bride and groom for letting us be a part of your wedding day, and to Michael Boivin at the Boston Harbor Hotel for another spectacular event!

Earlier this month the Boston wedding and event industry was introduced to a new venue. While the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum has been open for public forums for years, they are officially now available for social events. The JFK Library team along with their exclusive partners Gourmet Caterers hosted the launch party and we love that we were asked to capture the evening.

This breathtaking local is located at Columbia Point on the Boston Harbor with the city skyline as its backdrop. Guests were invited to cocktails in the Museum Pavilion. This nine-story glass atrium overlooking the harbor was set for a ceremony with floral design by Artistic Blossoms and furniture from Reserve Modern Event Rental. The Gilded Harps provided the music, hors d’oeuvres and food stations were provided by the Gourmet team that included a caviar station.

As the sun set, the celebration moved into Smith Hall which was designed for a reception immaculately with floral design by the team at Marc Hall Design, furniture from Reserve, lighting by Design Light and band provided by Entertainment Specialists.

We are so glad we had the opportunity to be part of this fantastic night and look forward to working in this stunning space in the future!

It’s no secret that we love the city of Boston, and of our many favorite places to capture a wedding, the Taj Boston offers a blend of grand luxury and timeless style. It’s easy to see why Tara and Steve chose the city they love (and the Taj Boston) for their elegant black tie wedding!

Starting on a lovely August day, this wedding began with the ladies gathered together in the bridal suite. Tara enjoyed some light-hearted fun together as they prepped for the day ahead. The bridesmaids dressed in floor length gowns while the gentlemen looked sharp in a classic tuxedo. Tara’s dress was a Vera Wang ballgown with a veil that framed the bride perfectly. Never one to disappoint, Winston Flowers created classic bouquets for the ladies to carry with white and cream flowers that felt timeless and lush.

The couple selected the Main Dining Room at the Taj for its stunning grandeur melded with refined intimacy. One of the bride’s favorite memories is the look on Steve’s face when she began walking down the aisle.  They wed under a chuppah surrounded by their nearest and dearest where they exchanged personalized vows.

After the ceremony, we headed over to the Boston Public Garden to capture some fun bridal party shots while the guests enjoyed cocktail hour.  We absolutely adore capturing these candids as the bridal party walked through the streets of Boston – between the ear to ear smiles and the stunning backdrops – we can’t shoot enough great shots!

The Rooftop at the Taj offers everything they were looking for in a reception location – expansive city views, modern & chic decor – the perfect mix of black tie sophistication.  The setting was complemented nicely with classic centerpieces of white roses and floor-length linens. Mini-lanterns lined the ceiling giving everything a romantic glow. Guests packed the dance floor and partied the night away.  A good time was definitely had by all.

One of our favorite parts of the evening was the couple’s send off. The guests gathered to toss white rose petals at the newlyweds as they departed.  We agree with the bride –  capping off the evening with that last bit of laughter, love, and happiness was a great way to end the night!

Working with the expert staff at the Taj is always great – we can’t thank them enough along with all the great vendors we had the pleasure of working with.  Congratulations again Tara and Steve!

For Sarah and Brian’s Boston wedding, it was all about tradition and family. For instance, the couple chose the bride’s family church, Wellesley Village, as the location to exchange their wedding vows. The bride walked down the aisle in an elegant a-line ballgown by Pronovias with a pretty lace, illusion, neckline and matching fingertip length veil. Around her waist, a soft pink sash brought in the bride’s favorite color. Soft pink was also featured in her wedding bouquet, with blush roses, white calla lilies, ranunculus, and dusty miller leaves.

After the ceremony, guests went to the Four Season’s Hotel Boston for the wedding reception. The hotel had also hosted the bride’s parent’s own wedding reception there nearly thirty years before. Inspired by her parent’s wedding photos, we used the same staircase for the couple’s formal photos. Afterward, we had some fun capturing a few more casual photos of the couple.

At the reception, a seating card display greeted guests and showcased a large floral arrangement by Honey of Lotus Floral Events. Guest tables where set with elegant ivory lamour linens and decorated with lucite pillar candle holder and floral arrangements with hydrangea, blush roses, and stock. After dinner, Boston wedding band, Search Party, kicked off the dance party. And, at the end of the night, gingerbread men from The Yum Yum Shop served as both favors for the guest and as a late night snack.

Congratulations Sarah and Brian!  We loved capturing your classic Boston wedding. Thank you to coordinator Lynne Enos and to Philip and his team at the Four Seasons for always being a joy to work with.

We always love photographing events at the Four Seasons Hotel and we couldn’t have been happier to return for Mia + Corbin’s Summer Four Seasons Boston Wedding! The couple each got ready at their parents homes and then proceeded to the church for their ceremony. Everyone in attendance couldn’t help but smile as Mia + Corbin stood in front of their loved ones and exchanged their wedding vows. The very church Mia’s parents got married in many years ago.

Following the ceremony we headed into Boston, where we took the family and wedding party to Boston Public Garden on a gorgeous summer day for photographs. Before heading into cocktail hour we took a few minutes to capture some classic photographs of the newlyweds on the Four Seasons grand staircase.

Soft light, a classic palette of white and gold, breathtaking floral arrangements and the artful lighting design of Suzanne B. Lowell made a stunning statement in the Four Seasons Hotel ballroom. Our happy newlyweds and wedding party gathered on the dance floor for a touching first dance. The evenings festivities were overflowing with love, laughter, family and friends.

A big thank you to Philip Deschamps and his team at the Four Seasons for always being a pleasure to work with. Thank you Mia + Corbin for choosing Person + Killian to document your special day. Congratulations to this beautiful couple, we wish you a lifetime of joy and happiness!

We are always thrilled to be back to the BHH, a venue known for its elegant affairs, and we couldn’t be more excited to have joined Giselle + Brian for a beautiful and classic Boston Harbor Hotel wedding.

After getting ready and a picture perfect “first look”, we headed to St Ignatius church where the wedding ceremony took place. Shortly after the ceremony, we headed back to the BHH for cocktail hour. As the doors opened to the Wharf Room a music filled reception led guests in for a night of family, friends and dancing.

The bride and groom welcomed their guests into the ballroom, adorned with beautiful florals and cool toned accent lighting. The space felt warm and inviting from the golden glow of the natural whites and reds of the floral pieces. The bride and groom celebrated late into the night with not a worry on their minds as the perfect evening came together.

A big thank you to Michael Bovin and his team at the Boston Harbor Hotel for being such a pleasure to work with. Congratulations to Giselle + Brian and thank you for letting us be there to capture your perfect day!

We often read these reviews as a reminder of just how lucky we are to do we what we love! Below are a handful of the amazing couples who have sent us the best reviews and testimonials over the years! We adore all of you.

Laura and Matthew described their wedding as a “romantic winter wonderland”. Surrounded by their closest friends and family and with the help of a fantastic team of Boston wedding professionals, their beautiful Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston wedding turned out to be the perfect winter wonderland they always hoped for.

We began the afternoon with Laura and her  bridesmaids in their suite at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston while Matt and his groomsmen were prepping for the day at the bride and groom’s home nearby. Following the emotional first look we headed outside with the couple for photographs in front of the hotel in Copley Square. The wedding party and family then joined Laura and Matt both inside and outside for formals prior to the ceremony.

The evening ceremony took place in the Grand Ballroom. In keeping with the winter wonderland look,  silver and white chairs, iced white branches with small bunches of white flowers and candles of all shapes and sizes surrounded the ballroom isle and ceremony area. The nuptials concluded with the Jewish tradition of the glass breaking.

While guests enjoyed cocktail hour, the Grand Ballroom was transformed into the winter wonderland wedding reception that Laura and Matt had envisioned. White linen topped with silver runners gave the room a wintery feel, along with white floral centerpieces enhanced with faux snow and silver table numbers tied in perfectly with silver chiavari chairs. Everyone was so happy to be celebrating this perfect day with Laura and Matthew. Following their first dance, toasts and cake cutting on the balcony, the party kicked off and the dance floor was packed all night.

A special thanks to Tracey Gavin and the entire team at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston and to Laura + Matthew for sharing your special day with us. Congratulations!

Stephanie and James wanted to keep the feeling of “old world” early Boston alive at their beautiful Downtown Boston wedding which included two historic buildings.

The day began at the Omni Parker House, a building that has been around since the 1850’s, right in the heart of Downtown Boston. Stephanie got dressed and ready in the hotel with her friends and family, with a funky pair of custom blue wedding shoes completing her outfit! In the meantime James was preparing for the day with his own group, and although the couple didn’t see each other before the ceremony, they did exchange wedding day cards to each other.

The next stop was the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston’s South End, another historic 1850’s building, for the catholic ceremony. This cathedral definitely has an old-world Boston feel — with high vaulted ceilings and lots of stained glass, it always makes for great pictures. We stuck around the church after the ceremony for a few pictures with the newlyweds and their wedding party before heading back to the Omni Parker House for the party.

The reception took place in the Omni’s Rooftop Ballroom, looking colorful and elegant with classic white table settings and pink and purple uplighting. Everyone was happy to celebrate well into the night with the newlyweds!

Congratulations to Stephanie and James, we had a blast sharing this day with you!

Our friends at Longwood Events are doing good this Spring! Even while they are busy creating and hosting stunning weddings and galas at any one of their five high-end Boston and Rhode Island venues, Longwood Events has still managed to create a brand new non-profit branch of their organization. We were happy to be invited to join as Longwood Events launches Longwood Giving this year!

The goal of Longwood Giving is to help struggling non-profits pump up their fundraising efforts through well-executed events, and eventually allow them to bring in more money for great causes. And who better to help out in such a valiant effort than Longwood Events?

Longwood Giving was launched earlier this month with their “Friends with Benefits” event, held at Longwood’s own State Room Boston, and Person + Killian Photography was delighted to be asked to be the exclusive photographers for the evening!

Longwood Giving partnered with the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) for this VIP event, whose highlights included culinary masters from both Boston and Nantucket, actual MLB Players Alumni, and a performance by up-and-coming artist (and recent Grammy winner!) Shea Rose.

Congratulations to Longwood Events for a very successful night, and thank you for letting Person + Killian Photography be a part of it!
