We always love photographing events that support a good cause. Art beCause is a wonderful organization whose mission is to educate the public on breast cancer causes and prevention, and we were honored to have photographed their 2017 Art beCause Celebrity Fashion Show.

This year’s annual event was hosted at the beautiful Wellesley Country Club, and featured delicious hors d’oeuvres, a fundraising live auction, and a lively fashion show starring some of our very own Boston celebrities!

Emcees Gretta Monahan and Robert Verdi kept the crowd entertained all night, with help from Kiss 108’s DJ Rich DiMare mixing the tunes. The Art beCause Celebrity Fashion show featured some of Boston’s top news anchors, TV hosts, and radio personalities including 7News Meteorologist Chris Lambert and Miss Massachusetts Julia Scaparotti. Also walking in the fashion show were four models who were breast cancer survivors, showing just how important the work of Art beCause is! All of the money raised at this event is used to fund research and awareness for the prevention of breast cancer.

We were honored to be a part of this wonderful event, and to help share the message of Art beCause’s important work. Special thanks to Joanie Freidman and Art beCause for having us!

We recently had the privilege of capturing the timeless Boston Harbor Hotel wedding of Franchesca and Danny. While prepping for the day was underway, the ladies were getting ready complete with glam team, champagne, and puppies! The bride wore a gown with a sweetheart neckline and delicate beadwork complemented by shoes that brought in a pink pop of color. Nearby, the gentlemen got ready, dressing in classic tuxes. Especially important to the couple was to be married in Franchesca’s family congregation, Sacred Heart Church. Located in the heart of Boston’s North End, the wedding ceremony was traditional and timeless. Immediately after, we grabbed some fun shots complete with a bubble send-off and formals on the greenway.

Guests enjoyed cocktail hour up in the Boston Harbor Hotel‘s Rotunda where the views of the harbor and city are one-of-a-kind. Following cocktails, we made our way to the Wharf Room. The couple selected a light, romantic color palette with floral arrangements in whites, creams and greens. Candlelight, accents of gold, and romantic amber lighting tied the space altogether. The atmosphere was festive and light with touches of glamour. As the couple enjoyed dinner and toasts (and a serenade!), the evening progressed full of laughter and happy memories. Thank you to Franchesca and Danny for letting Person + Killian Photography capture your important day.  Congratulations, again!

Also, a big thanks to the team of vendors for the entire wedding and the uncompromising service of Michael Boivin and his team at the Boston Harbor Hotel.

With the city near and dear to their hearts the simply stunning Katie and Barry wanted their fall wedding to have a classic Bostonian feel. Rich in luxury and tradition the Boston Omni Parker House was the perfect setting for their elegant affair.

Katie and Barry were surrounded by their fun loving family and friends for a sweet ceremony inside the breathtaking beauty of St. Mary – St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Charlestown.

We were enchanted by a delicate palate of ivory, white, and gold along with swoon-worthy panoramic city views from the fabulous Omni Parker House Hotel. Later, guests were on their feet for the wonderful rhythms of Sweet Tooth & the Sugarbabies and treated to charming favors from the Boston Olive Oil Company.

Thank you to all of the fabulous vendors that made this special day come to life! A very special thanks to Katie and Barry for choosing Person + Killian to document your wedding. We wish you all the happiness in the world!

On a warm September evening, we were thrilled to join Simin +  Nick at the bride’s family home to see their wedding inspiration come to life. The couples vision for their wedding was elegant, magical and romantic. An evening that has the look and feel of a Midsummer Night’s Dream, complete with a lush garden setting, twinkling lights and a star-filled sky.

With a beautiful blend of Persian and Jewish heritages, Simin and Nick had a sweet and touching ceremony. Simin’s family’s backyard magically transformed into soft palate of blush, ivory, and green creating an elegant backdrop for this gorgeous couple! An enchanting Sperry Tent was beautifully transformed by the incredible teams at Winston Flowers, Rentals Unlimited, and Simeral & Co. Guests enjoyed the live music of Sultans of Swing, including a beautiful rendition of the classic Ella Fitzgerald number, “Love is Here to Stay”, as Simin + Nick’s first dance. This beautiful couple celebrated their special day surrounded by loving family and friends.

Congratulations to Simin + Nick and thank you for putting your trust in us to document this extraordinary celebration of love!

The State Room is an incredibly photogenic venue, and we were thrilled to return there to photograph the downtown Boston wedding of Stacey and Evan. These newlyweds love Boston, and wanted a wedding that encapsulated all the beautiful and unique experiences the city has to offer. From getting ready at the stately Ames Boston Hotel to first look and formal photographs in Post Office Square, Stacey and Evan’s wedding really embodied the flavor of the city (literally, with favors from the famously creative South End Blackbird Doughnuts, and cupcakes from Wicked Good Cupcakes!). The couple had a beautiful traditional Jewish ceremony, with a floral chuppah and panoramic views of the historic Boston waterfront.

Stacey described it best: “We  met and fell in love in Boston and we wanted our wedding to reflect our love for each other and the city! We tried to incorporate that into all aspects of our wedding – from the clock tower on the table numbers, to the local doughnut favors (our favorite to take a trip to on the weekend mornings!). We really wanted our wedding to be fun and casual to balance out the elegant space. We added touches that felt very “us” – such as incorporating our sports rivalries into the kipot for the ceremony and passing out popcorn right as guests arrived (we are food fanatics and wanted everyone to start eating from the start!). The view from the State Room is unparalleled and we wanted to make that the focus of the space, so we kept the lighting simple and natural to bring the city lights in. Our colors of blush and silver highlighted the space, without overpowering it.”

Congratulations Stacey and Evan! Thank you for choosing Person + Killian to be a part of your celebration!

We always love seeing what’s new and trendy each wedding season. As we kick off this new year of Boston weddings in 2014, we were happy to pay a visit to the State Room Boston where Rentals Unlimited was showcasing some of their newest items.

Rentals Unlimited put together three wedding tables for us to photograph in the State Room Boston’s stunning Great Room, 33 stories above downtown Boston. Each of the designs featured clean colors of black, white and silver and ranged from chic and modern to classic and elegant. The first table was a long, rectangular mirror-top with clear mirage chairs. A mix of black goblets and classic crystal was paired with white chargers, black and shell napkins, all accented with black candle pillers.

The second table design was a traditional round with shimmering white linen. A mix of classic crystal and opaque white goblets were paired with silver-lined chargers for a modern twist, and the black vase and white orchid centerpiece added a wonderful pop of contrast. The final combination featured a textured silver and white linen and a beautiful shimmery silver charger plate. The clean, simple colors all worked so wonderfully together and each design was unique, modern, and elegant.

Below are a few images from the day that we wanted to share for some #WeddingWednesday inspiration!

We were so excited to once again be a part of the historic Omni Parker House 12th annual Brides of Distinction Bridal Brunch and Fashion Show this year! Each year the Omni opens its doors to soon-to-be brides and grooms to mingle, meet some of Boston’s top wedding professionals, and plan all the details for their perfect wedding.

This year was especially exciting for the Omni Parker House, who hosted the event in their brand new renovated ballroom. All of the 2013 and 2014 brides were so excited to finally walk in and see the beautifully remodeled space for the first time (and we were excited to see it as well!). This opening weekend kicked off a great upcoming wedding season for the historic Boston venue.

Guests spent the morning mingling, enjoying a fabulous brunch, and getting a sneak peek of all the hottest 2013 wedding trends with a fashion show from Flair. George Montilio of Montilio’s Baking Company even surprised everyone with a series of gorgeous wedding cakes, created as everything from wedding gowns to Manolo Blahniks. The entire event was a big hit, and all the brides walked away with lots of inspiration for their upcoming weddings.

Thank you to everyone at the Omni Parker House for including us again this year such a wonderful event!

In between all of our weddings and events, its great to be able to collaborate with a couple of fantastic local vendors and get back to the basics with some culinary photography!

This month we had the pleasure of working with Rentals Unlimited and East Meets West Catering to photograph and showcase not only the delicious creations, but a brand new line of event dinnerware from International Event Products. The culinary photography shoot took place at the Boston Exchange Conference Center, where East Meets West is the premier caterer.

“International Event Products was created to be a caterer’s true partner – to sell quality china and offer a variety of choices for unique tabletop design. We provide place settings, dishes, serving pieces, and more for caterers, hotels, conference centers, restaurants, and many other venues.”

We loved their designs — there were so many unique shapes and sizes, it really added another layer of visual appeal to the already beautiful food! East Meets West Catering provided us with plenty of delicious options to photograph, from hors d’oeuvres to entrees and a couple of stunning desserts. We loved working with these local vendors, and having the chance to work on another great culinary photography session!

Thank you to the Boston Exchange Conference Center, Rentals Unlimited, and International Event Products for this great opportunity, and to East Meets West Catering for the gorgeous food! We had a blast!

Bliss Celebrations is one of New England’s top guides for planning fresh, modern and spectacular events! This publication is a beautiful and informative resource for anyone planning and hosting an event. Each page is filled with beautiful work, real weddings, events and lots of inspiration and ideas. Not only is it a go to resource for brides it features real celebrations as well. Bliss Celebrations Guide has everything including New England weddings, social celebrations, mitzvahs, kids parties and holiday  festivities!

This year we were thrilled to attend as well as photograph their holiday party at the Exchange Conference Center. Below are just a few images from this beautiful event.

Edna Dratch-Parker owner of EFD Creative who helped plan and design the event described it perfectly on her blog- “We were looking to develop a soft wintery scene, along with the creative talent of Tangerine Creations, birch trees, moss, twinkle lights in the branches and hanging from the ceiling, helped create the mystical feel. Add in the white textured fabric, special touches of snowflake name badges collaborated by Table Artistry and Megan Chapin Calligraphy and the look was complete. DJ Raffi not only added in the holiday music, but the large moving pictures on the wall along with all the lighting…you had to see it in person to experience the energy it added to the party. A big thank you goes to East Meets West Catering, desserts by Party Favors, Peterson Party Center, Rentals Unlimited, and of course Lauren Killian of Person + Killian Photography…thank you for allowing us to share the beauty of the night!”

Congratulations to everyone who helped make this party a success! It was certainly a fun night and a lovely affair. Looking forward to next year! Thank you Bliss for including us in the festivities!

Last Saturday Jacquie & Gabe had a down-home DIY barn style wedding reception with all their family and friends. They exchanged I do’s last October in Santa Fe, New Mexico at an intimate wedding ceremony with a handful of people. The festivities took place at Codman Farm in Lincoln, MA where a blue grass band got the party started.

The Über cool couple along with their talented event planner Amy Kimball designed all of the décor. Their barn style wedding reception was full of DIY charm and filled to the brim with adorable details. Colorful flags and lights filled the inside of the barn for cocktail hour, where guests sat on hay bales instead of chairs! The tented reception featured long, family-style tables and beautiful white, silver, and turquoise decor.

Congratulations Jacquie & Gabe!
