When asked to describe their vision for their wedding day, Brianna and Edwin said: “We wanted the night to feel glamorous and modern, but also timeless”. Their choice of the Taj Boston Rooftop was the perfect location for this intimate event — and they took full advantage of everything the space has to offer!

The entire day’s events took place at the Taj Boston, with both bride and groom getting ready inside the hotel before heading outside for formal photos. The Boston Public Garden is situated right across the street from the Taj, so it was a quick walk to get out into the park. We started with just Brianna and Edwin alone, taking advantage of the beautiful greenery and fall trees just starting to turn orange. We were soon joined by the wedding party, who kept with the elegant monochromatic theme of the evening in simple black dresses and tuxes with white bouquets for the ladies.

We headed back to the hotel for the late afternoon ceremony, which took place up on Taj Boston Rooftop. The intimate gathering of friends and family watched Brianna and Edwin become husband and wife, overlooking the beautiful city 17 stories below. As the sun set over the skyline, the Taj Boston Rooftop was transformed for the evening reception.

Brianna and Edwin wanted to keep with the monochromatic color palette of the rooftop (with its black and white checkerboard floor), and accent with colors of gold and champagne for a modern and elegant touch. Guests were seated at two long banquet tables with white linens, black chiavari chairs, and black vases holding gorgeous white bouquets. Even the cake was an elegant black and white, topped with an image of the Boston skyline that was also used on their wedding invitations. They even made sure to include homages to Brianna’s infamous love of champagne and roses, with white roses in all of the floral arrangements and small bottles of champagne given out as a favor at the end of the night.

This Taj Boston wedding was perfectly elegant, modern, and romantic. Brianna and Edwin really allowed their celebration to be a reflection of their love and their unique relationship, and we were so happy to be there to share it with them!

It’s late September in Boston, and Sarah & Sam are celebrating their beautiful Taj Boston wedding weekend in the heart of the city. Everything from the preparation to the ceremony to the formal photos to the evening reception took place right in Downtown Boston, and gave the bride and groom as well as their guests some of the best of what this city has to offer!

Sarah and Sam both started their morning in the Taj Boston, getting ready for the big day with their wedding party. After everyone was dressed and ready, the bridal suite was cleared out so the bride and groom could have their first look moment together. We then took a quick walk across the street to the Boston Public Garden for some formal photos with Sarah and Sam, before hopping in an Uber to get to the church just a few blocks away.

The afternoon wedding ceremony took place at the Old South Church in Boston’s Copley Square. After the “I do”s, we headed back to the Taj Boston with the newlyweds and their wedding party for some formal photos in the hotel. While guests waited for the evening reception to begin, Sarah and Sam arranged a trolley tour to show them all the sights of the city!

Both the cocktail hour and the reception were held on the beautiful Taj Rooftop. The couple chose simple, neutral colors for their decor paired with classic green and white floral centerpieces on each table. The Taj Rooftop ceiling was decorated with natural greenery and hanging crystal orbs right over the dance floor, for a beautiful pop of color. Guests ate, drank, and danced the night away as they celebrated this wonderful couple.

Thank you Sarah and Sam for including us in your Taj Boston wedding day, and a special thanks to Marrero Events and the whole team at the Taj for another spectacular event!

We love when couples are able to bring their own unique history, story, and traditions into the celebration of their wedding day, and this beautiful Taj Boston spring wedding was the perfect reflection of brides Channah and Shikha.

This two-day celebration was a unique mix between the couple’s heritage — Channah’s Jewish traditions and Shikha’s Hindu traditions made for a truly one-of-a-kind wedding weekend. The events began on Friday with a Mehndi celebration and rehearsal dinner at the Park Plaza with toasts, dinner, and traditional Indian dancing from Shikha’s friends. Both brides wore gorgeous green saris, which matched perfectly with the spring trees in the Public Garden where we took the couple for photos before the party.

Saturday’s wedding day was held at the Taj Boston Rooftop, and began with the couple’s first look in the Boston Public Garden surrounded by friends and family. Channah wore a beautiful  white wedding gown while Shikha wore a traditional ornate red and gold sari.

The day’s events featured both Hindu and Jewish traditions, with a ketubah signing, a chuppa, and both Jewish and Hindu prayers during the wedding ceremony on the Rooftop. Guests enjoyed cocktails, dinner, and traditional Indian and Jewish dancing as they celebrated this wonderful couple on their very special wedding day!

From the couple: We are so glad to celebrate with our family and friends! We hope for a wedding day full of spring colors, blushes, ivories, sage greens – that celebrates both of our cultures and religions. We have been together for 6 years and are overjoyed to be making it official!

Congratulations to this beautiful couple, and thank you for letting us be a part of your extraordinary Taj Boston Spring wedding.

It’s no secret that we love the city of Boston, and of our many favorite places to capture a wedding, the Taj Boston offers a blend of grand luxury and timeless style. It’s easy to see why Tara and Steve chose the city they love (and the Taj Boston) for their elegant black tie wedding!

Starting on a lovely August day, this wedding began with the ladies gathered together in the bridal suite. Tara enjoyed some light-hearted fun together as they prepped for the day ahead. The bridesmaids dressed in floor length gowns while the gentlemen looked sharp in a classic tuxedo. Tara’s dress was a Vera Wang ballgown with a veil that framed the bride perfectly. Never one to disappoint, Winston Flowers created classic bouquets for the ladies to carry with white and cream flowers that felt timeless and lush.

The couple selected the Main Dining Room at the Taj for its stunning grandeur melded with refined intimacy. One of the bride’s favorite memories is the look on Steve’s face when she began walking down the aisle.  They wed under a chuppah surrounded by their nearest and dearest where they exchanged personalized vows.

After the ceremony, we headed over to the Boston Public Garden to capture some fun bridal party shots while the guests enjoyed cocktail hour.  We absolutely adore capturing these candids as the bridal party walked through the streets of Boston – between the ear to ear smiles and the stunning backdrops – we can’t shoot enough great shots!

The Rooftop at the Taj offers everything they were looking for in a reception location – expansive city views, modern & chic decor – the perfect mix of black tie sophistication.  The setting was complemented nicely with classic centerpieces of white roses and floor-length linens. Mini-lanterns lined the ceiling giving everything a romantic glow. Guests packed the dance floor and partied the night away.  A good time was definitely had by all.

One of our favorite parts of the evening was the couple’s send off. The guests gathered to toss white rose petals at the newlyweds as they departed.  We agree with the bride –  capping off the evening with that last bit of laughter, love, and happiness was a great way to end the night!

Working with the expert staff at the Taj is always great – we can’t thank them enough along with all the great vendors we had the pleasure of working with.  Congratulations again Tara and Steve!

This beautiful day in the heart of Boston was the perfect setting for Katie + Chris’s enchanted Summer Taj Boston wedding. The bride and groom got ready at the hotel and Chris was blown away when he entered Katie’s room to see his glowing wife to be for their first look.

Before the bride and groom officially tied the knot, we took a stroll through the Boston Public Gardens with the wedding party to capture the sheer bliss on the faces of the couple as well as their wedding party and families. Shortly after, we arrived at St. Cecilia Parish for the Catholic ceremony Katie + Chris stood in front of their loved ones for. The ceremony couldn’t have been more beautiful, from the high ceilings lined with glowing stained glass to the massive stone pillars and remarkably painted walls of the Parish.

Spirits were high as the bride and groom arrived at the reception to what looked like a romantic scene torn out of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The lighting gave a fantastical sense of wonder to the magical night as the greenery displayed the natural and calming qualities of the Shakespearean setting.  It was very easy to get lost in the natural feel and lush surroundings, to the point where all thoughts and signs of being in the big city were lost in the elegant array of beautiful flowers and decor.

Thank you to the Taj Boston and the team at Amy Kimball Events for being so lovely to work with and a heartfelt congratulations and thank you to Katie + Chris for having us there to capture your beautiful Spring Taj Boston wedding celebration!

It was the first day of Fall, and Caroline + Drew could not have asked for a more perfect day for their Taj Boston Wedding. The bride and groom wanted a classic and traditional wedding throughout all the aspects of their big day, from the soft white flowers, to the beautiful Church ceremony (which held extra special significance to Caroline), to the evening reception in the elegant Taj Boston Grand Ballroom.

Caroline + Drew both love the color navy, so they decided to accent Caroline’s strapless white wedding dress and bouquets of white roses with deep navy blue dresses for the bridesmaids. The flower girls’ ruffled white dresses matched the bride’s gown perfectly, with a classic blue sash around each one. Drew and the rest of the wedding party travelled to the church in a white wedding trolley, while Caroline and her father followed behind in a white limousine.

The wedding ceremony was held at the Holy Name Parish in West Roxbury, which is the very same church that Caroline’s mother and father got married in years earlier. The inside of the church was stunning, with a high domed ceiling and lots of colorful stained glass for a warm, intimate feeling. Caroline + Drew chose simple white flower accents leading down the aisle, to enhance the natural beauty and color of the church itself.

Coming out of the church after the big “I do”s, the Fall afternoon weather was absolutely picture-perfect. We couldn’t help but snap a few photos of the happy newlyweds on the steps of the Parish, with beautiful puffy clouds filling the sunny blue sky behind them! Before heading back to the Taj Boston for the reception, we took Caroline, Drew, and their wedding party into the Boston Public Garden for some outdoor wedding formals in the sunshine.

The Taj Boston Grand Ballroom was transformed into the traditional and elegant wedding reception Caroline + Drew had been dreaming of, with textured champagne linens and gorgeous table-top floral arrangements from Winston Flowers. The Grand Ballroom is full of rich, warm color on its own, so the soft white flowers were the perfect choice to enhance the natural elegance of the space without overwhelming it. Both the high and low floral arrangements were paired with gold candle votives, giving the room a warm romantic glow as soon as the sun started to set. The bride and groom had a lot of fun with their wedding cakes, choosing a traditional navy and white tiered cake AND a special New York Yankees themed baseball cake for their traditional cake cutting!

This classic and traditional Taj Boston wedding was the perfect way to kick off the Fall season, and we were so happy to be there to share the day with Caroline + Drew.

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Melissa and Bill at the beautiful Taj Boston in the city’s Back Bay!

The wedding ceremony took place at the Marsh Chapel, on the campus of Boston University. The chapel had special significance to Melissa and Bill as they got engaged in the Chapel’s outdoor courtyard. Melissa carried a beautiful bouquet of soft pink peonies as she walked down the aisle, for a perfect pop of spring color. After the ceremony, we stayed on the campus for some pictures around the chapel with friends and family before heading to the Taj Boston to start the party.

Melissa and Bill wanted their wedding to have the feeling of classic “Boston”. The dining room (overlooking the Public Garden and Newbury Street) at the Taj was the perfect venue for an elegant, romantic Boston wedding. The room was warm and intimate with golden champagne linens, and multi-toned pink peonies filling the centerpieces. Even their white wedding cake was covered in the soft pink flowers, adding a great splash of color to the Taj Boston ballroom. We loved the couple’s puzzle guest book where friends and family left messages on the back of puzzle pieces for Melissa and Bill. The front of the puzzle was their favorite photo from their engagement session.

Everyone was so happy to be celebrating this great couple, thank you to the newlyweds for letting us be a part of your special day.

Another beautiful Taj Boston wedding!

Sarah and Evan celebrated their special day at the always gorgeous Taj Boston surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones. We arrived just as the beautiful bride was getting the finishing touches on her hair and makeup, and as soon as the wedding gown was on we headed outside for some photos in the Boston Public Garden. The ladies looked classic and elegant in champagne colored bridesmaid dresses, and all three carried gorgeous white bouquets from William Mizuta Private Florist.

The couple chose not to see each other before the ceremony started, so as soon as everyone was ready to go it was off to the Arlington Street Church (conveniently located just a few blocks away) to start the wedding. We made it in just in time, by the time the ceremony was over rain moved in. While the guests headed back to the Taj to start the cocktail hour, we took advantage of the empty (and dry!) church to snap some pictures with the happy newlyweds. They eventually braved the rain, armed with an umbrella, to head back to the Taj for a few more pictures before the evening party began.

The Taj Ballroom was simply elegant — the couple wanted to keep it classic, romantic, and traditional. White, ivory, and subtle champagne colors filled the room, with beautiful gold linens adding flashes of bright color to the space. The beautifully classic white wedding cake held a special personal touch to the couple, it was topped with the very same cake-topper Sarah’s parents had at their wedding! There was no doubt about it that this was a crowd that was ready to celebrate all night, the dance floor was always packed and everyone (bride and groom included!) was certainly going to make this a party to remember.

Congratulations Sarah and Evan, it was such a pleasure working with you and your entire family!

Ryan & Chris hired some of Boston’s best wedding vendors to put together a beautiful elegant wedding that had a classic & romantic feel. Taj Boston was the perfect venue to host this intimate affair and Person + Killian Photography was delighted to be there!

When we asked Ryan to described the details of her day she said the following:

Chris and I are going for a classical romantic elegant look and feel to our wedding day. The bridesmaids will be in black, short dresses and the groomsmen in tuxes. Our flowers will be shades of white. Since most of our guests will be traveling to Boston from out of town, we have incorporated the old Bostonian look and feel throughout the weekend. Starting with the rehearsal dinner in the Library Room of the Hampshire House, carrying through to the cocktail hour where we will be having freshly shucked local oysters. We are taking out many of the traditional elements of a wedding and making it more of a party for all!

Some of the traditions they changed up a bit were really cute! Her father introduced the couple for the first time and the bride and groom introduced the entire wedding party! Also, Ryan’s last minute something blue was her bridesmaid’s all initialing the bottom of her Jimmy Choo in blue marker!

A big thank to Ryan and Chris for choosing Person + Killian Photography to document this beautiful Boston Wedding!

Heather and Nick’s Taj Boston wedding weekend was a beautiful mix of Jewish, Indian and Pakistani traditions.  Person + Killian Photography was delighted to be a part of this two day affair.

The festivities started off with an amazing Mehndi celebration at Mantra, where Heather and Nick celebrated with their closest friends and family. The room was filled with bright colors, beautiful Mehndi and a live performance from Nick’s cousin, Jeffrey Iqbal.

The celebrations continued at the exquisite Taj Boston, where Heather and Nick took full advantage of photographs in the Boston Public Gardens.

Their interfaith ceremony took place in the Taj Grand Ballroom, which was seamlessly turned over into a lovely reception. The room was a gorgeous mix of fall decor, colors and dramatic lighting.

When Amy Kimball referred Person + Killian as the photographers for her May 30th clients at the Taj Boston, of course we were thrilled. Not only would we be working with Amy Kimball Events, we would also be back in action at one of our favorite venues! Lucky for us we have had the opportunity to work with both Amy and the Taj on several occasions. Both never fail to deliver a spectacular event. When Lauren met the couple she instantly clicked with them. They were charming, funny and of course beautiful. She knew the day would be filled with great expression, laughter and love.

The reception took place on the roof deck at the Taj and was filled with beautiful flowers from Spruce Floral. The black and white checkered floor made for a classic and elegant look. Creme colored linens were paired with white folding garden chairs — perfect for a late spring wedding! The ceiling was covered in hanging paper lanterns, and the gorgeous tiered cake was topped with a beautiful arrangement of purple flowers that perfectly matched the groom’s purple tie.

We had so much fun at this event, thank you to Amy Kimball and the Taj for always being such a pleasure to work with!
