I think we can make it official — the Fall wedding season has arrived in Boston! For those that know the area, you know that there is nothing quite like New England in the Fall. Emily and Erik chose the Hampshire House for their Boston Fall wedding day, with its cozy interior and dark wood detailing it was the perfect fit for this late September celebration.

We never had to travel far for any of the day’s events — with the Boston Public Garden right outside we had no shortage of gorgeous locations and started the day with getting ready at Taj Boston. Emily and Erik chose a fall color palette of dark cranberry red, contrasted against soft pink and white. The colors appeared in all of the floral bouquets, table settings, and in the gorgeous color of the bridesmaid’s dresses. We took advantage of the Public Garden for all of our outdoor formal photos, we love how different areas of the garden show off different trees in bloom — from full Summer green to the changing Fall foliage. We even had a swan serendipitously swim by on the pond behind Emily and Erik while we were taking formal photos, sometimes you can’t plan these things!

All of the wedding events took place at the Hampshire House, from the intimate wedding ceremony through the evening celebration. The ornate wooden architecture and deep natural colors were the perfect compliment to the details of Emily and Erik’s Fall wedding. A close-knit party of about 70 guests watched the couple become husband and wife, enjoyed dinner, toasts, and an evening of laughter and dancing in celebration of Emily and Erik.

Special thanks to this wonderful couple for being so much fun to spend a day with, and to Michele, Karim and their team at the Hampshire House Boston for always being a pleasure to work with!

Maggie and Mike dreamed of a classic winter wedding in Boston, and their beautiful and elegant wedding at the Taj Boston and Hampshire House was exactly what they had hoped for! This winter wedding was before Boston saw its first big snowfall, but the couple still took advantage of all the winter details around the city. The couple began the day at the Taj Boston — Mike with his groomsmen, and Maggie with her bridesmaids (as well as the couple’s adorable dog Bonnie). Maggie accented her wedding gown with a gorgeous fur wrap, perfect for outdoor photos in the winter.

The couple met in the Boston Public Garden, directly across the street from the Taj Boston, for their first look and formal photos in the park. Then it was off to St. Cecilia’s Parish just a few blocks away for the wedding ceremony. Maggie and Mike became husband and wife in a full Catholic mass ceremony, surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones. Evening had fallen in the city after the ceremony was finished, and we took the newlyweds out to Commonwealth Avenue on our way back to the reception for a few more photos. Around this time of year Comm Ave is lined with sparkling holiday lights, which made the perfect backdrop for some classic winter wedding photos.

The reception was held at the Hampshire House in Beacon Hill, with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres starting on the Hampshire House’s third floor. We took advantage of the House’s stunning spiral staircase for some photos with the newlywed’s, then the party moved downstairs to the second floor for dinner. The couple chose classic white with a few pops of blue for their winter wedding decor — the neutral palette matched perfectly with the Hampshire House’s already rich and historical design. Silver vases held gorgeous white floral arrangements, and soft candlelight glowed throughout the room. Following dinner, guests moved up to the third floor for dessert and then back down to the second floor for dancing. Maggie, Mike, and all of their guests danced the night away at this beautiful winter wedding celebration — exactly how they had imagined it.

Thank you to Maggie and Mike for including us in your wonderful wedding, and to the Hampshire House for sending this fantastic couple our way!

It’s late September in Boston, and Sarah & Sam are celebrating their beautiful Taj Boston wedding weekend in the heart of the city. Everything from the preparation to the ceremony to the formal photos to the evening reception took place right in Downtown Boston, and gave the bride and groom as well as their guests some of the best of what this city has to offer!

Sarah and Sam both started their morning in the Taj Boston, getting ready for the big day with their wedding party. After everyone was dressed and ready, the bridal suite was cleared out so the bride and groom could have their first look moment together. We then took a quick walk across the street to the Boston Public Garden for some formal photos with Sarah and Sam, before hopping in an Uber to get to the church just a few blocks away.

The afternoon wedding ceremony took place at the Old South Church in Boston’s Copley Square. After the “I do”s, we headed back to the Taj Boston with the newlyweds and their wedding party for some formal photos in the hotel. While guests waited for the evening reception to begin, Sarah and Sam arranged a trolley tour to show them all the sights of the city!

Both the cocktail hour and the reception were held on the beautiful Taj Rooftop. The couple chose simple, neutral colors for their decor paired with classic green and white floral centerpieces on each table. The Taj Rooftop ceiling was decorated with natural greenery and hanging crystal orbs right over the dance floor, for a beautiful pop of color. Guests ate, drank, and danced the night away as they celebrated this wonderful couple.

Thank you Sarah and Sam for including us in your Taj Boston wedding day, and a special thanks to Marrero Events and the whole team at the Taj for another spectacular event!

TKR16SS_NECover.inddWith freshly fallen snow on the ground throughout New England we could not be more excited to see the latest Spring/Summer 2016 issue of The Knot New England out on newsstands and in stores everywhere. The latest issue features the real of wedding of Meghan and Tim at Taj Boston. This gorgeous wedding was designed by the incredibly talented team at Marc Hall Design and we are thrilled to see it in print.

From The Knot “Meghan Altman (a national account director at GSK) and Tim Stoll (a senior director at BioMed Realty) pulled off a chic, modern wedding at Taj Boston in Boston, Massachusetts, with over-the-top floral arrangements and a sophisticated black, white and silver palette. A traditional Catholic ceremony at Cathedral of the Holy Cross preceded the reception, the 19th-century Gothic Revival architecture and tall arrangements of white cherry blossoms provided a dramatic backdrop for the occasion. For the reception, Meghan and Tim turned to Taj Boston, a 1927 landmark hotel with an enviable address overlooking Boston Public Garden. The pair passed on the venue’s many opulent jewel-box ballrooms, instead hosting the post-ceremony festivities on the roof, where guests profited from 180-degree views of the Boston skyline. The talented team at Marc Hall Design transformed the space into a modern-day Garden of Eden with suspended floral installations and fresh bunches of white peonies and calla lilies. Candlelight filled the room with a warm, ambient glow and details like place-inspired table names put a personal spin on the chic decor. The couple made sure no guest went hungry, filling cocktail hour and dinner with seemingly endless eats like tuna tartare, New York sirloin and more. The band Soho blew everyone out of the water and kept the party going late into the night. The couple surprised everyone with a crepe station, a nod to their engagement in Paris, France, and sent guests home with a few sweet treats. A tip from Meghan: “Decide as a couple what your top priorities are and stick with them. There is no need to fret about minute details that you simply don’t have time to get to. Spend time selecting your vendors and make sure you enjoy them. Trust the professionals you decide on and rely on them to create the vision you share. Enjoy the planning and the journey through your engagement.”

Thank you to The Knot New England for featuring one of our weddings and a big thank you again to Meghan and Tim for being such a joy to capture on their wedding day!

A gorgeous spring day and classic Back Bay location made for the perfect combination for Meghan and Tim’s springtime wedding at the Taj Boston. After getting ready at the hotel, Meghan and Tim met for their first look at the top of the Taj’s grand staircase. The couple chose the Taj for many reasons including the sentiment as Meghan’s parents had gotten married there. Meghan even had the room key from her parents stay years ago when it was the Ritz.

The bride, groom and their wedding party headed to the Boston Public Garden for some photos amidst the blooming foliage, before heading to the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in South Boston for the ceremony. The stunning cathedral with its stained glass windows and magnificent architecture made for an ideal location for Meghan and Tim to exchange their vows.

The cocktail hour and reception took place on the rooftop of the Taj. Famous for its panoramic views of the Boston skyline, the space was elegantly designed by the team at Marc Hall Designs. In springtime tones of green and white, the flowers filled not only the table tops but were also suspended from the ceiling. Combined with the sunset, multiple chandeliers, candle light, floor to ceiling mirrors, the music of SoHo and picture perfect view, Meghan, Tim and their guests celebrated into the evening hours surrounded by this breathtaking atmosphere.

Thank you to the teams at the Taj and Marc Hall Designs for being absolutely amazing to work with as always and a big congratulations and thank you to Meghan and Tim for having us there to capture your beautiful celebration!

Even though Blair and Jon now live out in Washington DC, these two Boston natives decided to come back home for their beautiful Boston Public Library Wedding!

We were excited to be able to photograph not only the wedding day itself, but the rehearsal dinner the night before on the Rooftop of the Taj Boston.

The next day we met up with both Blair and Jon at the lovely Fairmont Copley Plaza and then made the short walk across the street to the Boston Public Library, in the heart of downtown Boston’s Copley Square. At the center of the Library itself is a gorgeous outdoor Courtyard, lined with summer greens and flowers. Blair and Jon decided to have their ceremony out here, and the late summer weather held out perfectly for them. The reception took place inside the Library, with dinner being served in the stunning Bates Hall, and dancing taking place in the more intimate Abbey Room.

Because the Boston Public Library is already such an ornately decorated space in its architecture alone, Blair and Jon wanted to keep their decor simple, elegant and romantic. They added tones of white, cream, and champagne to compliment the space, rather than compete with it. Overall they wanted their entire wedding to be classic and traditional, so that “30 years from now, we would still love it!”.

Congratulations Blair and Jon, and thank you for being so fantastic to work with!

Praise from the Bride – Person + Killian photographed both my wedding and rehearsal dinner, and the pictures are amazing!!!! I received the first “teaser” while on my honeymoon, and literally started jumping up and down with excitement. Once the wedding is over, the photos are the only real memories/proof that you have that it really happened, and Lauren Killian captured the entire weekend perfectly. Aside from the pictures, the experience of working with Lauren was also amazing. She was so professional and made me feel comfortable throughout the weekend, which to me was priceless (she even helped take my veil out!) While I am sure there are plenty of great photographers in the area, working with Person + Killian is a guarantee for fabulous pictures and a calming presence on a day where those are the two things you want more than anything!

Last week the Taj Boston partnered with Disney and the Make A Wish Foundation in putting together a Cinderella Tea. Seventeen girls from the make a wish program and their families sipped tea, wore growns and anxiously awaited the arrival of Miss Massachusetts (Loren Rabinowitz) and Cinderella!

Cinderella arrived by carriage on Newbury Street while the girls watched from the Taj windows. It was certainly a special event and Person + Killian Photography was honored to be a part of it.

The 2010 winter wedding season kicked off for Person + Killian Photography at the Taj Boston Hotel. Kelly and Gavin had a spectacular day starting with a morning at the Taj. The lovely couple, along with their closest friends and family, walked down Newbury Street to their ceremony at the always breath-taking Church of the Covenant.

After the ceremony, formal photos were taken at the Commonwealth Avenue Mall, which was illuminated by the white lights lining the Back Bay. Cocktail hour and an elegant dinner were followed by a night of dancing at Locke-Ober in downtown Boston.

Below are just a few images from their perfect wedding day.
