Leah and Craig’s sweet fall wedding at Boston’s Fairmont Copley Plaza was full of tradition and love. We began the crisp fall day joining the wedding parties in their suites at the Fairmont. We found Leah and her loved ones preparing for the couple’s First Look. Leah dressed in a gorgeous ruffled gown from Michael De Paulo with sparkly Jimmy Choo shoes. A lush and light bouquet of mixed fall flowers completed her stunning look. We captured a few fun moments of Craig before he dressed in a formal black-tie tuxedo and we made our way to the much anticipated First Look.

After a private and tender moment seeing each other for the first time, Leah and Craig readied for their Bedeken or Veiling Ceremony. This Jewish tradition involves the veiling of the bride — the bedeken — “where the bride and groom’s families meet and the groom confirms that the bride is his intended, then covers her face with a veil.” (and what a veil it was!) Immediately following, the wedding ceremony was in the Grand Ballroom under a customary wedding chuppah. A white aisle runner laden with petals led to a polished and reflective chuppah that was surrounded by lush floral arrangements. After the traditional ceremony, guests headed to cocktail hour where the atmosphere was cheerful, full with great conversations. Guests made their way back to the transformed Grand Ballroom for the reception. The ballroom was radiant with a complementing palette of golds and creams with pops of fall colors. Tall floral arrangements with candlelight and gold-rimmed mirrored table numbers felt right at home in the ballroom. Full of laughter and celebrations, the evening continued with toasts, dinner and lots and lots of dancing!

We adored capturing this sweet & loving couple’s day; Leah and Craig – you and your families are both gracious and kind – thank you for letting Person + Killian Photography capture this exceptional day! As always, thank you to our fellow vendors, and Tracey Gavin and her skillful team at the Fairmont!

Jamie and Matt had a gorgeous traditional Jewish wedding at the always beautiful Four Seasons Hotel Boston. The bride and groom were able to utilize all of the rooms and spaces throughout the hotel including their ceremony in the Governor’s Room, cocktail hour in Aujourd’hui and dinner and dancing in the Ballroom.

Before the ceremony, the couple had an intimate and beautiful ketubah signing, along with the traditional bedeken. Stunning floral arrangements from Carol Silverston and her team at the Original Touch filled both the ballrooms and hallways in varying tones of green, pink and cream. The ceremony chuppah was adorned with white orchids and brushed metal floor vases around the room were filled with Jamie’s favorite flowers – pink and cream peonies.

For the reception, the ballroom was filled with soft purple lighting. The mercury glass and clear glass vessels sparkled with the luscious white and pink flowers including peonies and cascading orchids. Following the energetic hora and the blessing of the challah bread, was a surprise fully choreographed flash mob. Secretly planned by about 30 of Jamie and Matt’s family and friends, the couple was thrilled by the dance (and it made for some great photographs)! The shining white dance floor with the couple’s monogram was underfoot as the guests celebrated and danced the night away.

Congratulations Jamie and Matt! Thank you to Philip Deschamps and his team at the Four Seasons for a perfectly planned evening and Carol Silverston and her team at the Original Touch.

Emily and Dustin celebrated their Mandarin Oriental Boston wedding on a beautiful (and blustery!) day right in downtown Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood.

The couple took advantage of the great outdoor space, having their traditional “first look” in the Mandarin’s Courtyard. We were able to get some great photographs with the bride and groom outside, despite all the wind, before moving inside the hotel for some formals.

The couple had a beautiful traditional Jewish ceremony, followed by a stunning reception in the Mandarin’s ballroom. Emily & Dustin’s wedding was classic, traditional, and very elegant — a simple color palette of steel grey and white was made very warm and intimate with lots of soft lighting, giving the room a candlelit glow. As always Florist William Mizuta designed gorgeous arrangements for the event and each table was accented with warm pinspot lighting, thanks to the team at Suzanne B. Lowell Lighting. We loved being able to capture this great couple on their wedding day, congratulations Emily and Dustin and thank you for choosing Person + Killian Photography!

Suzanne + Alex celebrated their beautiful InterContinental Hotel Boston fall wedding with a traditional Jewish ceremony and lots of bright autumn colors.

The couple put a twist on the traditional first look by standing back-to-back behind the bridal suite door. After coming around and looking at each other, they took the opportunity to practice their first dance before heading downstairs for pictures.

The InterContinental is a great backdrop for formal photographs. Their location, in the heart of Downtown Boston is perfect for city shots, and the beautiful Rose Kennedy Greenway across the street was full of Autumn foliage for a great backdrop. We love that Suzanne’s orange bouquet matched perfectly with the fall trees. After taking pictures with the family and wedding party, we took the couple to the back of the hotel, located right along the Boston Harbor for some waterfront photos.

Following the traditional Jewish Ketubah signing, the wedding ceremony took place inside one of the venues ballrooms. The ceremony was warm and intimate, with soft candlelight and an ornately decorated Chuppah covered in Fall berries and deep red roses. The reception was inspired by deep fall colors of red, orange, and purple, matching perfectly the InterContinental’s third floor ballroom. The floral centerpieces were offset by textured silver linens, and the lights on the center of the dance floor were custom designed for Suzanne and Alex with the newlyweds initials.

All the guests were ready to celebrate this adorable couple well into the night, and Suzanne even got a personal serenade from Alex and all his friends! Congratulations to the happy newlyweds, we had a blast sharing this day with you!
