It’s no secret that we love the city of Boston, and of our many favorite places to capture a wedding, the Taj Boston offers a blend of grand luxury and timeless style. It’s easy to see why Tara and Steve chose the city they love (and the Taj Boston) for their elegant black tie wedding!

Starting on a lovely August day, this wedding began with the ladies gathered together in the bridal suite. Tara enjoyed some light-hearted fun together as they prepped for the day ahead. The bridesmaids dressed in floor length gowns while the gentlemen looked sharp in a classic tuxedo. Tara’s dress was a Vera Wang ballgown with a veil that framed the bride perfectly. Never one to disappoint, Winston Flowers created classic bouquets for the ladies to carry with white and cream flowers that felt timeless and lush.

The couple selected the Main Dining Room at the Taj for its stunning grandeur melded with refined intimacy. One of the bride’s favorite memories is the look on Steve’s face when she began walking down the aisle.  They wed under a chuppah surrounded by their nearest and dearest where they exchanged personalized vows.

After the ceremony, we headed over to the Boston Public Garden to capture some fun bridal party shots while the guests enjoyed cocktail hour.  We absolutely adore capturing these candids as the bridal party walked through the streets of Boston – between the ear to ear smiles and the stunning backdrops – we can’t shoot enough great shots!

The Rooftop at the Taj offers everything they were looking for in a reception location – expansive city views, modern & chic decor – the perfect mix of black tie sophistication.  The setting was complemented nicely with classic centerpieces of white roses and floor-length linens. Mini-lanterns lined the ceiling giving everything a romantic glow. Guests packed the dance floor and partied the night away.  A good time was definitely had by all.

One of our favorite parts of the evening was the couple’s send off. The guests gathered to toss white rose petals at the newlyweds as they departed.  We agree with the bride –  capping off the evening with that last bit of laughter, love, and happiness was a great way to end the night!

Working with the expert staff at the Taj is always great – we can’t thank them enough along with all the great vendors we had the pleasure of working with.  Congratulations again Tara and Steve!

The holiday season is officially here and with that we had the pleasure once again of photographing the annual Ritz-Carlton client celebration. We always look forward to capturing and attending this event and to seeing how the ballroom is transformed. Past years included Winter Wonderland, a Mad Men Inspired theme and last years European Market to name a few.

“The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common recently hosted loyal clients for a Venetian Masquerade holiday party. The evening was an array of costumed characters, masks for every attendee, scrumptious traditional cuisine, and billowing drapes reminiscent of the luxury of Venice. Inspiration evolved through the meeting of minds among The Ritz-Carlton, Be Our Guest, and Winston Flowers. The unique décor was a nod to wanderlust with playful overtones for a festive occasion.” – Leslie Musser, The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common

We wanted to extend a big thank you to the team at The Ritz-Carlton for once again having us back to celebrate the holidays and photograph the event!

Anne and Jeff had a fabulous fall inspired wedding at The Four Seasons Hotel Boston. We stopped for adorable first looks and photographs in the Boston Public Garden before heading over to their heartwarming ceremony.

Loving family and friends gathered in the elegantly lit ballroom beautifully detailed with gold, crystal, and floral accents. In a lovely traditional Jewish ceremony our couple was joined under a gorgeous floral chuppah bursting with mixed roses.

Soft candlelight and dramatic fall tones of rich golds, ambers, deep purples, lush greens, breathtaking floral arrangements and towering centerpieces from Winston Flowers and the artful lighting design of Suzanne B. Lowell made a stunning statement in the Four Seasons Hotel ballroom. Our happy newlyweds and guests gathered on the dance floor for a touching first dance and to enjoy live music from Nightshift Entertainment’s District 21.

Thank you to planner Lynne Enos and our wildly talented industry professionals for designing such a fantastic event! Our sincerest thanks to Anne and Jeff for choosing Person + Killian to document your special day. Congratulations to our beautiful couple, we wish you a lifetime of joy and happiness!

On a warm September evening, we were thrilled to join Simin +  Nick at the bride’s family home to see their wedding inspiration come to life. The couples vision for their wedding was elegant, magical and romantic. An evening that has the look and feel of a Midsummer Night’s Dream, complete with a lush garden setting, twinkling lights and a star-filled sky.

With a beautiful blend of Persian and Jewish heritages, Simin and Nick had a sweet and touching ceremony. Simin’s family’s backyard magically transformed into soft palate of blush, ivory, and green creating an elegant backdrop for this gorgeous couple! An enchanting Sperry Tent was beautifully transformed by the incredible teams at Winston Flowers, Rentals Unlimited, and Simeral & Co. Guests enjoyed the live music of Sultans of Swing, including a beautiful rendition of the classic Ella Fitzgerald number, “Love is Here to Stay”, as Simin + Nick’s first dance. This beautiful couple celebrated their special day surrounded by loving family and friends.

Congratulations to Simin + Nick and thank you for putting your trust in us to document this extraordinary celebration of love!

We were thrilled to once gain be back at the Four Seasons Hotel for Kimberly and Daniel’s summer wedding. The entire day was full of joy, laughter and was a beautiful celebration from start to finish.  Dan is from Germany and met Kim while he was here in the states studying at the same university. Following that year, they continued dating and traveling back and forth from America and Germany in order to visit each other. During that time they did a lot of traveling together throughout Europe and the United States.

From Kim: “We had our absolute dream wedding at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston. Family and friends traveled from as far away as Germany and California to celebrate with us on our special day. Everything about the night was perfection from the decor to the delicious food to the high energy which lasted all night!”

Following the first look on the grand staircase, we headed across the street for family and wedding party photographs on the water at the Public Garden. For the ceremony, the Governor’s Room made for the perfect location. The naturally sophisticated look and feel of the Aujourd’hui Room was enhanced for the reception with lighting by Suzanne B Lowell Lighting Design and flowers by the team at Winston Flowers.

Thank you to Philip and his team at the Four Seasons for coordinating another beautiful event as always. We had a great time working with such a sweet (and fun) couple! Congratulations Kim and Dan and we wish you a wonderful marriage full of lots of travel and adventure!

Katherine and Andrew knew they wanted a sophisticated and elegant black tie wedding from the day they got engaged. They chose the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in the Back Bay for their summer wedding.

Design, decor and coordination of Katherine and Andrew’s vision was brought to fruition by the team at Hopple Popple, Inc and was even more beautiful than they had envisioned. Echoed in the dance floor, coordinated yet unique bridesmaids dresses, and the floral design by Winston Flowers (with regal pops of red), a color palette of black and white paired nicely with the black tie celebration.

Their emotional first look took place outside in the private courtyard of the hotel which also made for a perfect backdrop for photographs with the couple’s family and friends. The Mandarin Ballroom was transformed for the ceremony with floor to ceiling white drapes and accented with 2 stunning floral arrangements created by Winston Flowers at the beginning of the aisle. Katherine and Andrew exchanged their vows in a traditional Jewish ceremony under a beautiful floral chuppah.

A combination of rectangular mirrored tables mixed with classic rounds blended perfectly for the reception and were topped with an array of white flowers and candlelight. Following dinner, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed the evening on dance floor with music from Night Shift Entertainment.

A big thank you to the team at the Mandarin and to Linda Matzkin and her team at Hopple Popple for a wonderful day! Congratulations Katherine and Andrew and thank you for choosing us to document your wedding!

The Four Seasons is one of the most stunning venues in Boston, and earlier this month we photographed the wedding of Liz and Matias there. The couple described their wedding as a, “traditional American wedding with some foreign twists…Combining USA with Argentina.” Elizabeth and Matias met during a rugby game in Argentina where Matias is from and they just recently moved back to Boston. For them, the Four Seasons was the perfect location to celebrate their wedding day with friends and family.

After their first look atop the grand staircase at the Four Seasons the wedding party headed across the street to the Boston Public Garden for formal photographs. The traditional Catholic ceremony was held at St. Julia Church in Weston where the bride and her family are from. Following their ceremony, guests headed back to the Four Seasons for the cocktail hour and reception.

The reception took place in the ballroom where Winston Flowers and SBL Lighting created a modern look with soft lighting and a mixture of modern and classic centerpieces atop both long rectangular tables and rounds.  Elizabeth and Matias joined their guests and shared their first dance after they were introduced as “Mr. & Mrs. Lucero” for the first time. They celebrated with their friends and family as the night continued and danced to a mix of American and Argentinian music.

Congratulations again to Elizabeth and Matias and thank you to the team at the Four Seasons for always being so wonderful to work with!

We see so many different types of weddings every year, from modern to rustic, seaside to winter wonderland. But a classic, traditionally elegant wedding never goes out of style — and we loved being a part of Jennifer and Keith’s beautiful classic Fairmont Copley Plaza wedding right in the heart of downtown Boston!

We got to work  at one of our favorite Boston wedding venues with the talented Tory of Winston Flowers, who added some really stunning details to this traditional black and white wedding. Jennifer wore a gorgeous strapless wedding gown matched with a simple beautiful necklace and earrings. Her bridal bouquet was filled with traditional white flowers, while her bridesmaid’s bouquets popped with subtle pink accents. The girls were dressed all in black, to match the handsome groomsmen. The couple’s family and wedding party got to watch Jennifer and Keith have their traditional first look outside the Fairmont Copley Plaza on this beautiful summer day.

The ceremony took place in the Fairmont Copley Plaza ballroom, with a classic white aisle runner and four breathtaking white orchid arrangements from Winston Flowers on either side of the altar. Following the ceremony, the Ballroom was transformed into a “fairytale wedding”  — with towering white orchid centerpieces mixed with smaller white and pink arrangements alternating on each table. After the couple’s romantic first dance, the groom himself got on stage to play a set with his own band! Before dancing the night away, Jennifer changed into an adorable white cocktail dress to end this elegant and memorable evening.

A big thank you to Tracey Gavin and her entire team at the Fairmont for always being so wonderful to work with! Congratulations Jennifer and Keith!!

It’s only fitting that Person + Killian Photography got to ring in the New Year at a winter wedding at the Fairmont Copley Plaza! And, on top of that, we were with one of the sweetest couples, Lauren + Chris!

Lauren looked amazing in her wedding gown, which she paired with a birdcage veil, chunky necklace, black beaded belt and amazing jeweled black heals.

The bride and groom invited their closet friends and family to a small intimate, classic and beautiful wedding. The reception took place in the Fairmont Copley Plaza’s Oval Room and the colors throughout were black & white with touches of deep red.

Lauren + Chris incorporated small details into the night that really made the evening special.  For example, during their “first look” in the Fairmont’s Presidential Suite, the couple’s dog Rowan made a special appearance. The bride changed into her grandmothers wedding gown during cocktail hour and the signature drinks were all in honor of the dogs they love! The “Rowan” was a rye whiskey with Grand Marnier and maple syrup. The party was in full swing when the clock struck midnight and the crowd danced into the New Year with music from a Beatles cover band!

It was a wonderful night and we were honored to document this beautiful affair with such a sweet & loving couple. Congratulations Lauren + Chris and Happy New Year to all!

With great pleasure we photographed yet another beautiful holiday soiree for The Ritz-Carlton, Boston.

This beautiful event came together with the joint efforts of the Ritz staff and their amazing culinary team. Also, lending their talents were some of Boston’s finest event professionals that included Ambiance Event Service, Be Our Guest, Music Management, Southern Audio Visual, Stump Trivia & Winston Flowers.

This year the Ritz continued their holiday tradition of sharing the joy of the season with a child in need. Guests were invited to bring an unwrapped gift for the Big Wishes for Little Wanderers Holiday Drive. They also surprised everyone with a flash mob performance by the Boston College cheerleading squad and the Ritz staff!

Thank you to everyone at the The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common for thinking of Person + Killian Photography to capture this beautiful event. Below are some of our favorite photographs from the evening!

The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Holiday Toast 2011 was photographed by Boston wedding and event photographers Person + Killian Photography. The Ritz-Carlton, Boston combines contemporary sophistication and classic charm. Located in the heart of downtown, this award-winning Boston luxury hotel features 193 guestrooms, including 43 suites, with all the amenities you would expect from The Ritz-Carlton. A short walk to the historic Freedom Trail and Faneuil Hall Marketplace and just steps from the Theatre District and picturesque Boston Common, this hotel in Boston is the perfect spot to take in all the culture and history this city has to offer.

Our December kicked off with the fantastic two day wedding celebration of Linda and John. Friday began at the couple’s home where we had a chance take some photos of the bride, groom and their beautiful family before heading off to the ceremony at Temple Beth Avodah.

Both Linda and John wanted to be surrounded by their close family for such a special occasion. After the Ketubah signing the Rabbi invited the whole family to join the couple under the Chuppah for their wedding vows.

Saturday began at the Four Seasons Hotel where Linda and John got ready followed by a few more photos before heading off to the reception.

The celebration began with the bride, groom and their guests at Artists for Humanity – EpiCenter designed, catered and coordinated by The Catered Affair.

Following cocktail hour, guests were moved into the reception. The modern decor, lighting and design (including floral installations and chandeliers) created a chic, sophisticated and elegant atmosphere for dinner and dancing.

The night kicked into high gear with the Hora and entertainment from a NYC Swing band that kept the party going all evening long.

We had an absolute blast capturing this important weekend of events for such a wonderful couple. Congratulations and thank you Linda and John!

Christie & Ross had a classically beautiful Boston Wedding at the Four Seasons. The day was filled with tradition, elegance, laughter and love! The bride wore a stunning Oscar de la Renta wedding gown paired with white Christian Louboutin heels, while the groom looked dapper in his black tux and bow- tie.

The couple hired some pretty fabulous vendors! Our dear friends at SD Events planned the day. The couple flew in a rockin’ band from Atlanta (Atlanta Showstoppers) and had a exceptional video team Elysium Productions from LA who documented the entire day. The event lighting was created by the talented work of Suzanne B Lowell and the room was filled with the beautiful arrangements from Michael O’Brien of Winston Flowers.

Below are just a handful of our favorite images from this beautiful affair. A big thanks to SD Events for introducing us to this fantastic couple and heartfelt congratulations to Christie and Ross! Thank you for trusting Person + Killian Photography to document this joyous day!
