P +K | Stacy + Dan: I Do!

Lauren instantly clicked with Dan + Stacy the minute they walked into Person + Killian’s Newbury Street studio. Their easy-going and fun-loving personalities made a great first impression. By the end of the meeting, the couple decided to book Person + Killian Photography for their Boston Seaport Hotel wedding!! The feeling was mutual. Lauren knew she would work well with the couple.

Because the couple lives in LA, Lauren didn’t photograph their e-session until the night before their wedding. As you can see in the below images, love was certainly in the air-all weekend long!

Last Saturdays wedding at The Four Seasons Hotel Boston was simply spectacular. From the minute Lauren arrived to the hotel, she knew the day would be amazing. With the “elegant simplicity and old-world Boston charm” of the Four Seasons Hotel Boston, the wedding was simply stunning! The event was filled with William Mizuta’s signature vision and work. Breathtaking décor, lighting and floral arrangements adorned all of the rooms for this beautiful summer wedding.

As a surprise to the couple, the bride’s parents arranged for a choir to come to the ceremony and sing “ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE” A play off from the scene in “LOVE ACTUALLY”. As you can imagine the couple was shocked!

As always, Person + Killian Photography are delighted to photograph a wedding at The Four Seasons Hotel Boston and it was certainly a pleasure to work with and photograph the beautiful work of our friend William Mizuta. A big thank you to Deb Welch of Studio 9 who never fails to produce amazing hair and make-up.

When Amy Kimball referred Person + Killian as the photographers for her May 30th clients at the Taj Boston, of course we were thrilled. Not only would we be working with Amy Kimball Events, we would also be back in action at one of our favorite venues! Lucky for us we have had the opportunity to work with both Amy and the Taj on several occasions. Both never fail to deliver a spectacular event. When Lauren met the couple she instantly clicked with them. They were charming, funny and of course beautiful. She knew the day would be filled with great expression, laughter and love.

The reception took place on the roof deck at the Taj and was filled with beautiful flowers from Spruce Floral. The black and white checkered floor made for a classic and elegant look. Creme colored linens were paired with white folding garden chairs — perfect for a late spring wedding! The ceiling was covered in hanging paper lanterns, and the gorgeous tiered cake was topped with a beautiful arrangement of purple flowers that perfectly matched the groom’s purple tie.

We had so much fun at this event, thank you to Amy Kimball and the Taj for always being such a pleasure to work with!

The world of fabulous parties and weddings can be small in an intimate city like Boston. We have had the remarkable opportunity to get to know three awesome gals, Jessica Latimer, Tracy Freedman and Courtney Smith on numerous events and industry get togethers at five star venues in the city. We know that that they are serious about weddings and you can tell right away by their style that these girls live,  breath and are in love with fashion.

Each is a veritable force in their own right when it comes to  the world of fashion, marketing and design. Jessica Latimer has spent her career  busy with various editing positions at major style publications and provides a serious approach to journalism. Tracy Freedman has pursued her love of fashion, it’s history and colorful designers her entire life and Courtney Smith incorporates her love of fashion into everything that she does. In 1997, with champagne glasses in hand,  the three joined forces and  jumped in, stilettos and all,  to the digital world of fashion with their  blog and web site, DernierCri.

Fashion is ever changing always new, exciting and different. We love firing up our computers or getting a ding on our phones with a new story from the world of  what’s new. We spend too much time scrolling around their site and reading the posts about cool, pretty and of course fashionable things. We just can’t help it!

One of their recent posts caught our eye and we just had to share it. They wrote about a hip fashion label XPat and presented showcases of this designers work. As photographers, we loved the use of strong imagery presented with the clothing to tell a story.  XPat is garnering a lot of attention with their use of  Aztec color and updated menswear stripes fashioned for today’s woman.

We look forward to seeing what is in our inbox tomorrow. To learn more about the latest fashion or to read the last word, please visit their web site and blog. Great job gals!

Boston Wedding Photography: Boston Harbor Hotel Wedding | Mandarin Oriental Boston Wedding

Last weekend commenced the 2009 wedding season and Person+Killian were thrilled to work at two of Boston’s top wedding venues, the Mandarin Oriental Boston and the Boston Harbor Hotel!

Incredibly the The Boston Harbor Hotel, with its imposing architecture and sweeping views, executes intimate and glamorous weddings. Lauren Killian was able to capture many, special moments throughout the day of this stunning bride + her very obviously smitten new husband. We especially loved their white tiered wedding cake, which was absolutely dripping with beautiful red roses and surrounded by a sea of rose petals. So romantic!

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, legendary the world over for their service and attention to detail, never fails to be an amazing setting for any event, especially a wedding. The hotel’s collection of intriguing art work and décor lent themselves perfectly to this lovely spring wedding. Jill Person, always discrete, captured many private moments between new husband+wife, below are three of our favorite images.
